  1. It was moisture in lines took tubes out of mercury and blew them out now solid line of mercury
  2. I would describe it as a bubble of water or a break in the solid column ____ ______ __ sort of like the line. 2 columns no breaks 2 columns look like the line . as far as the top of the mercury pretty much equal. just cant get the breaks out
  3. I hooked up the mercury manometer and must be moisture in tubes ,as a couple of tubes have a separation of mercury. Did u come across this and does it effect the readings. I adjusted to accecptible level but curious as to whether the readings are accurate. There is about 1/8 to 1/4 gap in 2 tubes. tried tapping tubes ,turning motor off and restarting, still there ???? JB

  5. Thanks for your input ,also when syncing the carbs do you hang it off the bars and snake the hoses thru the frame????
  6. Just received mercury manometer from Sabre .Looks pretty good What are all the brass tubes and o rings and nuts used for?? I assume the little white plugs are the restricters. I have a 84 VR.I can see where storage would be a problem,Do you just hang it up in a safe place so it cant tip?? tia for any assistance JB
  7. Fork oil is leaking ,on the 84 vr there is a tiny hole on large bottom portion of anti dive right below the split.if you seperate the halves it in line with a c clip . the brake fluid operates piston on top smaller portion.
  8. I`m all for doing that but it wont eliminate fluid coming from weep hole ,also what did u use to plug hole where short banjo was??
  9. I`ve read some posts on this subject .My right front anti dive is leaking from weep hole.Did anyone find a fix for this ?? looks like posts say U have to replace valve. I believe its an air hole with some kind of check valve to keep fluid in. if I plug hole might make matters worse??? Some say i can eliminate valves completely, which I might consider. Read 1 east fix to remove banjo and short brake line and plug hole where banjo went to antidive .what would u use to do this ? is it a standard metric bolt .any help greatlt appreciated JB
  10. good advice JB I will do that . Thanks

  14. Well that sounds good to me,like I said I`m not having a problem with the bike running but until a week ago it always clicked about 5 times when i turned key on . Even if I turned bike off then on again I`d get 5 more clicks.I`ve had the bike since feb 08 and that was normal procedure. Thanks to all for input JB
  15. Anybody have this ,my fuel pump used to click when I turned on key. Now it doesnt or maybe clicks 1 or 2 times. Cleaned all connections battery is fully charged and bike starts instantly and runs PERFECT. I`m wondering if there is going to be a problem down the line?? no hesitation and will run all day at 70 -80 mph with power to spare. when bike is idling can feel pulses when I hold hand on pump. any input greatly appreciated JB. Thanks to all ,all I read at the battery is battery voltage does not go up no matter how fast the engine is running. was 100 miles from home friday when I noticed meter was just 12 volts . made it home without stopping ,meter was almost in yellow . Would not start up .jump started did the checks only got voltage at 3 wire white plug 9 - 14 AC volts. battery voltage was about 10.5 .I`m assuming regulator bad
  23. Yes mine has the brown wire plus 2 red and 2 black. can u check dc volts on that plug .i get no voltage from it but i do get 9 to 15 volts ac from the 3 white wires
