  1. Can't blame you for staying out of reach and not taking any chances,, tough area to be on the wrong side,, I know, been there done that. With the ring thing,,, guess it's time we spend more time together for some more in-depth edumacation,, seems you have lost or are losing your ability to count now. I looked it up and it seems that it is the precursor to the initial beginnings to the early onset of forgetters disease. Forgetters disease is often seen as a result of a broken rememberer, but if caught early enough can be healed. I have some experience with this as I learned a lot of the ins and outs of from my dear mother,, don't worry it is said not to be contagious, but sometimes hereditary. The cure is to develop an acute counting habit which is initiated by slowly counting in reverse, which most of us find more difficult than to count in forward, so bring lots of paper money and then you can start counting as you transfer it from your hands into mine so I can verify at what stage of the disease you are at. Not to worry that I will keep your money, that is not the idea, not at all!!! I plan to spend it right shortly for I have some specific needs.
  2. Prayers on the way for you Don, and yes,, I agree with the others this time around, stay put so that your nurse can look after you.
  3. Noooooo, nothing against Alberta, I met her once and she wasn't all that bad,,,, had some nice hills and valleys if I remember correctly. As for me being a smart fellar,, thanks for the compliment, but seeing as you and I seem to be opposites at times, does that make you a fart smellar?
  4. Have you ever heard that a common enemy makes good friends??? Best we keep Ottawa in the circle for I think, or we might have to find another excuse. I already feel sorry for the chosen one, and he hasn't even been thought of yet.
  5. Best to start a new thread, but here goes. Seems you have air in the clutch system, that will do all kinds of wonderful, thought provoking things and can even baffle the brain on occasion. Turn the handle bars all the way to the right, put some towels below the left bar to catch any spills, then check the clutch reservoir to see how much fluid you have in there, take the lid off to be sure. If it's black or brownish suck out what is there, squirt in some fresh stuff, get a q-tip to clean all areas, flush it by using a rag and squirting some more fluid until it's clean. Now fill the reservoir half full and carefully, gently work the handle a bit, don't do a full pump, just a bit of a wiggle at the full out position. You might see some bubbles rising into the reservoir, if you do, keep wiggling the handle. When the bubbling stops, wiggle a bit deeper and at the same time take the handle of a screwdriver and tap the union at the end of the master cylinder. Hopefully at this point you have not allowed your desire to give a deep pump the opportunity to be followed through. Making sure that the handle bars stay turned to the right puts the master cylinder at the top of the heap, so all air can rise to that location and be ejected out through the wiggling process. If you give too big a pump, you will drive the air lower into the system and you'll have to wait for it to come back to the top, overnight is recommended. Once you have all the air out, even the tiniest bubbles matter, you can now fully bleed and refresh the fluid by bleeding it out of the bleeder screw located at the slave cylinder, left side of scoot under the engine. Be careful not to run out of fluid as you do this, or you will be worst off than you are now. These clutches are a pain to get the air out of and the normal procedures of bleeding just does not seem to be very effective.
  6. Well, let's see. You could be somewhat conservative and go blue. Or Be very liberal and go red. Or Keep everybody guessing and do an orange. Or Go with the in-crowd and go green. Does that help at all? Or You could go red and white to be Canadian Red, white and blue to be Dutch or French Or Go 60's and put flowers all over it. Or Get some left over paint, lots of colors, and a brush and give the whole works to a 5 year old and tell him to make it look nice.
  7. Actually, you might be right on this occasion, it might be the water that makes Ontario what Ontario is, but that don't answer the question why you moved to Alberta, that would require more thought, and my thought is that maybe, just maybe, living between Manitoba and Quebec was not the right place for you,,, a province has to be strong to exist between those two and so it takes folks who can look two ways at once,,, annnnd Ottawa is in Ontario,, but that is a whole different matter.
  8. Thanks for sharing this with us, we will surely keep all of you and her in our prayers, asking that she might heal well and be able to once again enjoy the life that has been granted to her. Please do keep us posted on her progress.
  9. White smoke would generally indicate coolant. SO Check where the hoses lead to, there's a bunch down there. Check your coolant level. Check the drain valve in the center of the lower rad in the front. Many heat gauges will show almost red before the fan comes on, but check the fan as well. Change the coolant. Might be the water pump, put in the metal one rather than the plastic one it came with from the factory. And you've only just started.
  10. The real reason for doing u-turns is so that you can once again see the most amazing scenery, and if it didn't look too good the first time, it's best to turn around and see it from the back side. All this time I led to give all you guys such a wonderful experience, and somehow you got to miss it all. Oh well,, if you don't succeed at first, you try, try again.
  11. Tough part will be to get you to listen and not give comments all the time to get me coonfussed.
  12. Now the answer comes to me, I always wondered why it was that I figured you talked a lot,,,, but that's not it at all,,,, it's just that you are not of good hearing and seeing as you did not hear nobody speeching, you figure you could easily enough fill the void!!! WHAT A RELIEF!!!! And as a compliment,, you are very good at it. Now back to the original programming.
  13. Sorry about taking you off topic,, that happens to a lot of girls when they meet me,, just don't know what there is that I can do about that, although this time I think I could blame it on @Patch.
  14. Me Nervous??? Yah Right!!!! Something you need to know about me,,, I don't fly, and I think a cruise is a waste of time,,,, never been on one, but if I did, I would miss soooooo much local stuff. And there is no danger from Mama, she is sooooo lovable!!!
  15. Either she is trying to ignore me, or she missed the thought in my message,,,,, so far I think I'm safe!
  16. I did some quick research and discovered that I would vote once again for the Red Roof. Why? The prices between the Quality and RR are just about the same, both beds have blankets, both rooms have showers and towels, they both are very willing to take your money,,, but the last times we were at the RR they allowed us to have a gathering place in their room beside the pool, the Quality don't have that. We stayed at the Quality some years ago and had excellent service, buddy even came out with old towels to wipe our bikes in the morning, but then the following year it changed hands and things went for a poop, so we moved on to RR. Just a bit of why some of us are at the RR. Please post where you would like to stay and I will see what kind of monetary deal I can get. I will give it a couple of weeks before I do, so I have an idea of numbers.
  17. I think it would be best if you posted your lodging wants and desires in another thread, one that Freebird already created. Click on the link to go directly to that thread and you'll find that I have already been there with my thoughts. https://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?144727-Freebird-s-Maintance-Day-2020
  18. Now that you brought up the subject, the last time we hugged weren't you the one who was commenting about a spare tire? or was that somebody else?

    Air?

Found the link to the news article. https://www.ctvnews.ca/health/expert-covid-19-isn-t-containable-and-canada-should-focus-on-protecting-seniors-1.4842922
  20. Better to have Ben doing the speachifing, he can get anyone confused, and as for the red dots, you need to ride a Spyder so you can gets out the way quickly. I hear those red dots can burn holes in ya. Really was looking forward to seeing you again,,, but family come first, always first!!!, you just never know how long you have each other,,, so enjoy!! I never pick the wrong lane,,, it's the folks in front of me who should have gone into the slow lane.
  21. @saddlebum can says what he wants, it's still a free country and I guess that's why soo many Dutchmen moved here. As far as the hugging thing goes,,, he can be the best,,, that's just fine with me,,, but it means that I still have room to practice some more. There is a picture that come to mind, and it's a pyramid of crows with four at the bottom and one at the top, the one at the top is all nice and clean but the ones on the lower tiers are covered in white stuff to some degree,,, the caption says to look up or something like that,,, I'm ok where I'm at!! Moped don't owes me nothin', best he spend what he has on a new tire...... and hug from Mama.

    Air?

A Canadian doctor has it right I think. He says that we will not stop this virus from spreading and all we are doing at this point is prolonging the agony. He says what we need to do is to plan to protect the most vulnerable, so keep an eye on where it is active and then take the necessary precautions to deal with it, but to try to stop this thing or contain it will only stretch the activity to a much longer period of time, have a dramatic effect on all of us, even those without any problems. Most people would only have to deal with nothing more than maybe what they would should they get a cold or a flue. Really, I think the news people needed something to have folks watch their shows and this came at a perfect time for them. Disclaimer: Some thoughts are my own.
  23. Easy Now!!! you might be giving some folks the wrong ideas, might even loop us together in the same group.
  24. With my looks and your ???????? it might work, we'll take Ben along for distraction.
  25. Opps,,,, sorry, didn't mean to get you all upset,,,,,, scatter-gun???
