Maybe I have some input here,,, I was going to say wisdom, for others may argue that point. For the passenger to really enjoy the part of riding,,, not just the scenery, but the actual thing of riding, they must be first fully trained, how to get on, off, lean etc. Once that has been accomplished they must then allow the rider to ride and guide the the whole process. In other words, they must sit there like a sack of potatoes and RELAX!!!. Any input from the passenger will screw up the rider and the ride and hence make it very uncomfortable for the passenger. If the passenger doesn't trust the rider 100% then that will be transposed into the ride itself, for the passenger will be tense to some degree and have inputs, like failing to stay in line with the bike as a sack of potatoes would. Even a small deflection from what is required will be detrimental to a smooth corner and will cause the rider to make adjustments that will make it a choppy experience and hence also un-nerve the passenger making for a more interesting experience at the next juncture. So trust is one item, knowing the rider also helps and in due time, if enough time has been spent on the bike together, the passenger will automatically swing with the rider and become part of 'one', so there are not to items on the bike, but one. What a wonderful experience that can be. I have experienced both, those who need to control and those who sit behind me with no worry in the world. It very important to the enjoyment and safety of riding for the passenger to let themselves be guided and controlled by somebody else, if not,, the experience is limited and can be dangerous.

Hey you, never mind trying to horn in on my territory, I was offered the Twinkies, how many of those rotten things do you think there are anyways? And Big Tom only has the funds for just sooo many,,,,, on second thought,, go ahead and pitch in, I don't like them anyways. So what you're saying, or trying to say, something like talking, but not always quite the same,,,, that a lot means very little and very little means a lot. I guess that is something like being a straight shooter, you should be able to shoot straight, but not all that shoot straight are straight shooters. Just trying to define the terms that you are/were using. Maybe @saddlebum can you out, for I'm just getting lost in my own words here, with yours included.

In order to answer your question, I have some in return: How long was the bike running before this happened? Did you ride it easy or hard? What was the outside temp approx? Wear did the coolant come from, appprox area if you know? Did you notice where the temp was on the gauge? Could be that the thermostat got stuck, heated up the coolant in the engine to the boiling point, created steam which then was forced into the rad and blew out the cap or overflow. Solution? replace the thermostat.

Even an inch will make a big difference in the balance.

Personally I'm not too worried about the results of your fall, those things happen and the following results are well described by previous posts and I agree with all those who said to go see a doctor. I bet you love those people as much as any of us do,,, but go!!!! What does concern me, is how you got to fall in the first place and the feeling you had before that, the reason you went out for fresh air. Sounds to me like you might have a blockage or partial blockage of a vein in your neck area that made you feel that way. Happened something similar to my brother, and he made the decision, with his wife's input, to go see a Dr right away. Dr says he was smart, or things could have got a lot worse in a hurry. They fixed his blockage and he's back on his feet, he'll be 80 in a bit.

Congrats to you Mike, I bet you'll get a lot of enjoyment out of your new ride, and we'll wait for a while to see what happens to show up in Oberlin.........

I can understand that,,, happens to me sometimes as well. Just don't let it go to your head. No need for a rematch, but if Saddlebum would like one, it can be done. As is often the case in my life, I end up being #2 and that's just fine with me, at least I still have somewhere to go, annnnd, everybody else says they are #1 , so I'll let them fight over that by themselves. Just some info, don't know if it's important or relevant. There is a reason I'm told that they didn't put an oil pressure gauge on these motors, but only an oil level sending device. There is so little pressure at idle that it would scare the poop out of you if you got to see it. So if you only idled it to check,, which would be normal, there might not be enough pressure to actually discover anything relative.

I figure I could find you some help if need be,,,, I hear Freebird has some time here and there, and then the Bum ain't working so hard now that he's with a cane. Now Patch maybe a bit far away, maybe just depends on how far up is? Yep!!! I don't think it would be that hard to find some help. On the other side, I understand your story and would agree with you fully, but\and it's those times that make us think the wrong things about other times that people look at us,,, for it's not necessarily actually HOW they look at us, but rather how WE think they are looking at us, Give that some thought maybe.

Patience is the first tool you need. When you are done go to HF and get another one, this time bigger and stronger. If it still won't come off, grab a little patience from your neighbour. In other words: Open up the engine case and set aside for use maybe later, set it well aside so as to not get damaged by articles of unknown origin. Remove bolt that holds the stator in place and set aside so as to not get lost. Install a decent puller, something robust making sure it's square and plumb and snug. Put some tension on the puller, check to make sure things are right and proper. Install a box with rags in front of and below the balancer. Now is where you need that patience. Tighten the puller,,,, no!!!!!I said tighten the puller,,, you'll need at least a 2ft bar to get it that far. Do not stand in front of it, for when it comes it will scare the poop out of ya, especially if you are infront of it, may even do some other damage. If it didin't come yet wait til tomorrow, if tomorrow comes and it's still there, get a good sized heavy solid drift and a decent persuader and tap the center cone of the balancer a bit, some on the top, some on the bottom and then maybe some on the sides for good measure. squeeze the puller some more and drift a bit more, then squeeze the puller some more and then wait until tomorrow, keeping the box of rags in place. Now I go plow snow.

Maybe it's got to do with you eating less sugar these days? or Maybe it;s got to do with the mentality of DQ and others: let's see, sugar is cheap, so how can we sell it for more money and get people to buy it,,,,,, we got it, let's add some dairy and call it IC.
