So are you trying to tell us that you've been out riding again,,, you know you should put fresh fuel in it before you come home though eh?
-
Thanks everybody for your comments, prayers and well wishes and for coming out to share this time of celebration with us. It shows that you all care and that makes us family. We had a great time,,, ya, Mom was getting on in age, and I was corrected, she was 87, and so lived a full life and was satisfied with the time that her Lord allowed her to be here with us to guide and direct us. We cried a little, sang some songs, prayed together, but mostly shared time of the past and caught up on the goings on in the separate lives of each other. There were cousins there we hadn't seen in years,,, wow, they're getting older as well, and some of them even have grand-kids now!!! how time moves on!!! All in all, we had a wonderful 4 days, a time of reflections, business, deadlines, organizing, decisions, phone calls, emails, but mostly,,, a great family reunion. I know it is not always this way, that we can celebrate the passing of a loved one, sometimes the person is much younger and leaves a much bigger hole to deal with, a father or mother of a young family for example, but this was not the case this time,,, quite a blessings for us. We now carry on with out her, but take a lesson from the days spent. Our time will come, so will we be ready like she was? Blessings to all of you!

Send us a picture of the machine

Fire up the blacked out engine, send some sound out the blacked out pipes, and get behind the café racer windscreen and go. Kind of says it all I think.

Careful when you wear that vest, maybe best leave it loose so you don't fall off as well. Well one never knows eh?

If you weren't so far away I would jump on it!

It's time for celebration, yes but also some time for mourning. Marca's Mom has been slowing decreasing in enjoyment and ability of life, especially the last few weeks. This morning her Father decided it was time for her to come home and she was happy to go. She will leave an empty spot in our lives until we meet again in peaceful perfection. She was 85, and served her Lord and community for all her years. It was a blessing to know her and live along side of her. Visiting will be at the Wellandport Christian Reformed Church, Wellandport Ont., Friday 2-4 and 7-9, with the celebration service Saturday @ 1:30pm at the same location.

Anyone know how to delete ads from the classifieds when the scoot sells?
Marcarl replied to cowpuc's topic in Watering Hole
I was thinking of giving you an answer, but it would have been a little different,,,, so,,, this way, FreeBird will feel part of the site as well. -
Sell it the way it is. Financially you'll be much better off. It seems to me that you don't get time to ride enough to warrant having a scoot, not that it isn't a nice thing to have, but it costs money. You'll be putting much more into the bike than what you can ever hope to sell it for. I took on an 84 last year, real cheap!! but when I figured just the basics that need to be upgraded I was at more than double of what I would hope to get for it, and that was not counting labor. Now if you do the work yourself, enjoy doing it, and want to ride it in the end,,, now that is a different story altogether.

We need to recognize that different days will produce different levels. You might have the same bike, ride the same roads, leave the same time but there are many variables that will determine the time to quit. I/m not sure where mine is or what I might use to assess myself, but I have been know to stop and grab a snooze in the afternoon at times. I do know that as the day wears on, more cars will pass me than earlier in the day, and that corners aren't as interesting as they were earlier. Some things that will determine length of ability: Temperature Humidity Clothing Traffic Sleep the night before Booze Hydration Stopping times Vibration Wind protection Seat comfort Noise Type of roads Food Attitude That's just for starters. Thanks for starting this thought thread. Don't think we've ever dealt with this before. It's a good thing to be aware of.

What in earth are you doing??? playing golf when you got a Venture???? Looks good though, you could use that for more things than golf bags,,, maybe an idea for Cowpuc. On second thought,, maybe not.

Doesn't look like 2 many people have an answer for you Mike, at least if they do they're not posting it. Maybe you have an car seat upholsterer in your area that could advise. I know some years ago there was a company that claimed they could repair rips and tears, but I have no idea how good it worked. That's about 40 years ago. (just after I was born I think)

Ooooh Eck,,, and we will miss you soooo!. Would this be the first time you missed, or have you missed before? Ahhhh Tooch,, you can change things around,,, hey, 10-4 wants to be shown off I'm sure!!

I really think it's missing a wheel somehow,,,, can't seem to grasp it right now, it's late at night. Hope you can learn to ride it the way it is,,looks like it might be a bit of fun,, just a bit!!!

Another one bites the dust, I'm not Ventureriders anymore.
Marcarl replied to The Tooch's topic in Watering Hole
OK in Canadian maybe not the same as it is in American,,,, can't say for sure,,, got to find some Americans that are OK first and then a decision can be made. So as for now we'll leave it as alllllright or close to it in Canadian. eh? -
Just so you know, here's the link. This thread is now closed. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?118301-MarCarl-s-VentureIn

Guess it's time to post this event. It happens May 28th 2016. All day event, rain or shine. Menu: We thought to make a potluck, or bring your own, but burgers won out instead. We don't bother with the adult stuff,,,,, well,, bikes are allowed. It's also just fine if you bring a wife,,, well your own if that works, Marca really likes the company. The day starts when you get here, and ends when you leave. We can accommodate a few campers, so if you are so inclined you are welcome, even the night before. Just let me know. Want to stay an extra night, that's OK as well. We do an ice-cream run in the afternoon, so if you want to enjoy that, don't be late. We have left as early as 1 and as late as 2, so my guess is somewhere around there. Depends a lot on Saddlebum and how long he wants me to speech. Plan on Pizza for supper, everybody chips in to cover the enormous costs. You may contribute to the day if you like, there will be a jar for that purpose. Be ready to meet and enjoy some nice, different, talkative, informational, strange, older, younger, middle-aged, tall, short, thin, not as thin, folks. If you have never been here before, this will be your first time then. Don't worry, we can't remember who was here before and who wasn't, anyways. Please post to let us know who's coming,, it's very important for the ice cream stop, and for the burgers! Didn't mind having you around at all, fact is, kind of enjoyed your company actually. I couldn't make it to Guntersville, but that wasn't your fault so don't take that personally. Will miss your input for a while, but then you'll be back,,, you'll miss us!!! And we will miss you. Blessings on your new roads!
