  1. Thanks for the info. I am definitely going to get serious about looking at them for myself and my significiant other. Ride safe....
  2. I have a 3/4 and a full face helmet that I wear (one at a time of course) depending on the temperature, etc. But recently I have been considering a modular. Any of you ride with one and how do you like it? Thanks
  3. I know a lady about 20 miles north of me that is in the embroidery business. She does caps, shirts, jackets, etc. I can supply the contact info if anyone wishes.
  4. Thanks Banny. I'll be sure to "recommend" this to the dealer. Even though they are suppost to be professionals with our scoots, they can't diagnois every little thing without our help.
  5. Thanks for the help! There is a wealth of help and information on this great site.
  6. Is Yamaha the only place to buy the chrome outside saddle bag guards or is there another site I cannot find that also has them? I have searched but can't seem to find anything else. I'd be content with an after market set or a descent used set vs. paying $215 from a dealer. Am I cheap? Yep! Thanks:whistling:
  7. My '07 RSV is doing the same thing when I push it out of the garage to take it for a ride. I am going to have my dealer look at it as soon as I can get away to take it to them. With less than 1k on the scoot, you wouldn't think the splines would be dry, unless they failed to proper lube them @ the factory.
  8. Since I am a welder by trade, I think I am going to build a scoot lift. Found a neat design online @ http://www.afabonline.com/table_lift_plans.htm and figure it shouldn't be very difficult to build. Looks like several people have built them, so we will see.
  9. I think you'd get the better end of the deal on that swap. Got your p.m. and replied. Thanks!
  10. Swap for? A Guardian bell is one thing that my RSV is definitely missing.
  11. I've seen the "meet & eat" posted about April 12th @ Arcadia and sure plan on doing my best to be there. Only thing that would prevent it is the Red & White game @ OU and I am not sure what date that game will be. Ya'll have to understand, during football season (whether spring or fall) home games @ OU have my utmost attention. The south end zone wouldn't know how to behave unless I was there. I met a 2nd generation rider from the Sherman/Dennison area a couple of weeks ago at the scoot shop in Shawnee, but didn't get his moniker that he uses. But do plan on me and the mrs. pulling up @ Arcadia on our '07 Black Beauty.
  12. I have a Cyber 3/4 helmet and it works great. For cold weather riding I use a full face Xpeed. I'm extremely satisfied with both. I believe the Cyber was about $40 and the Xpeed was $80.
  13. Thanks for the report DT. I initally was looking at the 1000# unit that was air/hydraulic, but am leaning toward the all air operated unit. The ram looks larger and a bit more substantial. I also notice that they sell outriggers for the lifts so that you can put riding mowers, etc on them which would be a huge help. I would imagine that you could "re-vamp" the front tire vise assembly so that it would hold the bike a little better also. I recently built a friend a cycle trailer and install a front tire mount like the lift that David posted a link to and it seems to work great for him. I still have the dxf file for it which would enable me to cut one out on my PlasmaCam.
  14. Nice looking lift. Not sure I need to spend that much on one that will only be used periodically. Thanks for the info!
  15. Has anyone used the air operated motorcycle lift from Harbor Freight? If so, how well did it work and would you recommend it? I have been looking at the 1200# capacity one and figure it would work great not only for changing oil, etc, but for detailing. Thanks in advance
  16. I'm pretty sure she got them through Hammacher Schlemmer. I could barely feel heat when they were on high. But I was riding the 1300 vstar tourer on that trip and it definitely doesn't have the protection from the wind as my RSV does.
  17. My wife got me some of those battery 'lectrik gloves for Christmas too. They are going back on Tuesday. My hands were numb after a 60 mile ride in upper 30's temps. Maybe I'm just a wimp? lol.... Probably got a defective pair since they were not very warm at all even on high.
  18. Buddy, I am in Pauls Valley and called all the Yamaha dealerships in the southern half of Okla when I was looking for the 1300 tourer. Sehorn quoted me the cheapest price on the phone, threw in 2 helmets, and for as long as you own the bike give you 15% off any accessory and install it free. Of course, when I upgraded to my RSV, they were the ONLY dealership I made contact with. I was up there last Saturday getting the spoiler/light assembly installed on the trunk lid and met a guy who rode up from the Sherman/Dennison, Tx area to have 2 new tires installed. He makes a 4 hour round trip ride to get his bike serviced from them. Says something for Sehorn Yamaha for sure. Their service and dealership are tops for my $$.
  19. If I'm not mistaken, Sehorn Yamaha in Shawnee, Okla. has 1 or 2 '07 Raven RSV's. That is where I purchased mine (and my former bike, a '07 vstar 1300 tourer). If you are close to Okla, I highly recommend their dealership.
