2005 RSV 2008 Hannigan Kit 2009 Alumna Trailer
  2. The hitch on my 2005 RSV with Hannigan kit has the hitch tube welded near the front and then again at the rear of the frame assy. The hitch use a receiver type head that is removable. It is not the standard size receiver used on trucks or SUV type hitches. With the receiver head off it is not noticable.
  3. My 05 RSV with Hannigan kit is easy to push around. The skill is in parking where you dont have to back up. I back it with the trailer attached into the down hill spaces and then just pull out if I cant pull through one. In florida every paking lot has a up or down slope for the water runoff to the skitter ponds. Watched a two wheeler the other day that had parked nose in on an extreme grade. It took four men to drag it back out to get it turned around. Skipop
  4. MY Hannigan kit uses a ford thunderbird rear end upside down and Honda cv joints, brakes and rims. 2005 RSV
  5. I have added led lamps on the rear of the 50 rsv and have the back of the trailer covered with them. Did not add anything except a back off flasher for the brake lamps ahead of the trailer wiring so the trailer brakes will flash also. Skipop
  6. I drag a trailer behnd my rsv and have no problems, the thing to remember is maintainance of the trailer tires, check the coupler bolt and head space and safety chains regularly. Keep a coupler lock in place to prevent the coupler form coming loose. Drive safe dont tailgate and last but not least, the trailer is covered on the rear with led run and stop lights and that is worth the small risk the trailer might come loose. These lights are far more visable than the stock lights on the RSV. Skipop
  7. I pull a Aluma trailer 2 wheel and it pulls fine. The RSV runs as well with the trailer as it does without. The trailer is only a few inches wider than the RSV. After a few miles you know right where to be in the lane. Skipop
  8. Best ride out there for a big bike. The skills taught in the MSF course when praticed as they should be will have you riding extremely slow with good control. You impress some with how fast you can go, you impress me with how slow you can operate your motorcycle with your feet on the pegs. skipop
  9. Hanningan Motorsports Murphy ky has an easy steer kit for the RSV. It was about 900 installed by me dealer with their trike kit. Skipop
  10. I have not had any issues, first I try to park where I can just drive out. However my Hannigan rolls back with no effort. The wife pushes it out of the garage and she rides wherever she wants to go with no complaints. After seeing this post I asked her opinion and she states it is not an issue. I generally just step on the left running board and just push back with the other foot. The dealer here in Pensacola says he has many customers that just sit a little to one side and push back with their foot. I gave this a try this week at a couple of stops and it worked fine also. Parking garages I try to park on the ramp portion and let gravity roll me back into the parking spot. I use gravity by observing the slope of the parking area also and use it to my advantage to back in and then just drive out. Skipop
  11. Utopia makes a great back rest for the RSV, I have one on my 05 and it has been a back saver. It folds down out of the way, and adjusts forward and back. Seems like it was around 100.00 a couple of years ago.
  12. aving spent the last twenty years in DMV consumer protection, I researhed buliders and trikes carfefully. This kit fit it did not need the bolt holes drilled out or fender washers etc to put it together. We went to the factory and spent the day looking and asking questions about the design and parts used. They allowed us full access to the machine, paint and fiberglass shop and allowed the technicians to answer all questions. i was allowed to take close up photos of the Yamaha kit and look at the fit and finish of the proto type. For my opinion this is a quality kit from a quality dealer. The trip cost about 300.00 gas and room but I felt it was worth the effort to see first hand the machine we were planning to purchase. They had no idea my background with DMV until the visit was concluded and we were sitting in the office just talking kids and grandkids with the owners and they asked what we did for a living. Yes money is an object and thats why we tried to be very careful who we purchased from. We have worked part time jobs for the last three years to save the money and did not wont to be unhappy after the conversion, because afterall the venture is a fun ride on two wheels. Skipop
  13. I purchaased a Hannigan trike kit for my 05 Venture. It handles extremley well and draws a crowd every where I park. I had the easy steer rake kit installed and it handles with one hand easy in tight cornering and at highway speeds it is real smooth. I also purchased the running boards and they hold my full figured weight with no problems. The fit and quallity of the kit is of factory quality from Yamaha. The trunk has plenty of room for when the xyl forgets your on the bike and buys everything she sees as well at each stop. I would say you will not regret changing over to a trike. And by the way I love two wheels but the trike is pretty cool. I toured the factory and everone was real helpful and answered all questions regarding the Venture kit. Skipop
