  1. ...................................While I run ME880 on my RSTD, I have D404 on my 1982 Goldwing, and at 13,000 miles they look and ride like new. My last set I changed at about 1`5,000 Miles with a nail. So........................................ different strokes
  2. ...........................................I am really not sure which one you are talking about, but I have the Yamaha Manual # Lit-11616-RY-LO. The first time I opened it, it all fell apart. I had to punch holes in it, and use a "LARGE" ring binder. If I had seen it open, I would have never bought it. It leaves a lot to be desired. Yes, it is helpfull, but it skips a lot of steps, and most of them I have to figure out for myself. It has 9 sections and is about an inch thick. I hope this helps............
  3. .....................................WOW, just what I have been thinking about. Is it a drivers backrest for the OEM seat? I need one for my RSTD. Who did you order it from, and how much. Thanks.....................
  4. ......................................Well, now I do not feel so bad. I bought the same kit for a winter project last year. Lit the garage heater, put the bike on the lift and 5 hours later I was done. Well not really. I had the same problems you have, and some you do not appear to have yet. So................I started over, again, and again. Long story short, I gave up. Put it all back in the box in the cabinet, and went back to stock. So when I read your post I thought, finally........oops..............So, it looks like I will wait some more before I try it again.................
  5. ...............................................I had almost 15,000 on my ME 880 tires and picked up a nail in the rear. They still had a little tread on them, but I wanted to try the smaller front so I changed both. Now with just under 5, 000 miles, I really like the front 130. I will stick with the ME 880 and the smaller front. .............Just my opinion, no scientific facts..........
  6. ..................................................I put almost 15,000 on my RSTD, on my 150, and was not happy with it. Changed to a ME 880 130, and am very happy with it. I have almost 5,000 miles on it. I will stay with the 130 when I have to change tires. JMHO
  7. .........................................I had just under 15,000 on my last pair, and picked up a nail in the rear. Decided to change both since I wanted to go with a smaller front tire. I now have just iunder 5,000 on the new set. No problems. will buy Metzler again when the time comes..............
  8. ....................................................Well, I do not have that problem.....yet. coming up on 20,000 on a 2006 RSTD, and nothing. I did buy used, and the previous owner did let me take it for a ride first. So, I guess if it stays like this, I am very happy. Sorry for all of you that have the noise. Geat bike...............
  9. ..............................If for any reason you are interested in Honda East, (actually it is in Maumee, Ohio), let me know. I live less than 10 miles from there, and I go there every week, and know almost all the salespeople.
  10. ..........................Well, I am one of the many who don't post very much. I do however try to read the posts as oftern as i can. This is the first I read of the event. But after all the guff Red1 has gotten for his OP{INION, I have to say I wil not be coming, but not because I can't . Go back and read all the posts at once and see how silly this is. This may be why more people don't post. They may not want their OPINION challenged...................................
  11. ................................I am very happy with the Metzler ME 880 Marathons. I had over 15,000 miles on the last set and they still had soime tread left. I only changed them because I got a nail in the rear, and I wanted to go with a smaller tire in the front. They were very good in the rain. Now I don't ride hard or fast. However, over 1,000 miles were in the twisties in West Virginia. If they were noisy I did not notice. When I have to replace them I will go with Metzler again.
  12. .........................WOW, I live just 8 miles from their store and was just there this morning and picked up some oil. Too bad they don't stock them.............................
  13. ...................I just went to a smaller ME 880 Marathon to match my new rear ME 880 on my 06 RSTD, and so far I am pleased........ In my opinion, it is easier on turns and parking lots, but I am certainly no tire expert....
  14. .................................Good Luck. I went the other way, from a V* 1300 to a RSTD. TOOOOOOOOO much vibration.
