  1. Spent some time yesterday evening going over the X-Rays with the Dr. I have a couple slightly compressed vertebrae(C5-C6 and C6-C7) and T1 is slightly out of line. A couple places with very minor arthritic build up, nothing major. The Dr. suspects that one or both of the compressed discs are bulging slightly but is confident that adjustments, NSAIDs and possibly some PT will take care of it.
  2. So sorry for your loss. It's hard enough when you see it coming. I thought I was prepared for my father's death as he had been in poor health for quite a while. I was wrong. I can't imagine how hard it would hit me to get that call about my mother. Remember the good times, don't dwell on the bad.
  3. I went for X-Rays yesterday. The Chiro will go over them with me tomorrow. To my untrained eye, I see two vertebrae that aren't watching their gig line. By my count, they are C5 and C6 which is where the Bone Cruncher told me the base problem is. I am feeling a bit better every day. I'm down to two adjustments a week from daily sessions.
  4. Forgot to respond! Mine arrived while I was on the road. THANKS!
  5. Just returned from my second chiropractic adjustment. I did see improvement after the first visit, the chiropractor confirmed today that things are looking better. I was still not able to sleep well last night but I was not in excruciating pain as I have been for the previous few days. This chiropractor uses a different method than the last one I saw effectively(many years ago). He uses a mechanical "thumper" to pin point impact rather than twisting me up and torquing my spine. I'll give it few more sessions, but I do feel the difference after each so far.
  6. Earl, Thanks for the advice. I hear what you are saying and get where you are coming from with it. It IS appreciated and not discounted. However, There was no significant injury or situation that precipitated this event. None. I simple woke from sleep in pain. So far, the MD side has only suggested/prescribed pharmaceutical solutions that have had from little to ZERO effect. I have had good results in the past from chiropractics. Granted, it was a completely different scenario. Rich
  7. I have been informed that I am suffering from a pinched nerve in the C6/C7 area. This information was provided after a visit to the emergency room because my wife was sure I was suffering a massive heart attack. The only reason I didn't think I was having a heart attack was simple. If I had actually been having a heart attack that hurt as bad as this did and went on as long this did, I'd surely have been dead. I've been shot, stabbed, and beaten(more than once). I have never experienced pain like this before. Excruciating and endless. I have not slept in three days. I have a second appointment with a Chiropractor tomorrow morning. I saw marginal improvement after the first Chiropractic visit this morning. The meds(non steroidal NSAID anti inflammatory) the ER prescribed do not seem to have much effect. Wish me luck.

    What the

The fact that this is true does not mitigate his stupidity. Anyone who cannot see the difference in these two situations needs to lay down. They are too stupid to walk and breathe in tandem.
  9. Indeed, the slave cylinder is leaking. I rebuilt mine, but a new one is under $100.00.
  10. It's the size of the sail! A small bike, though lighter by several hundred pounds is less effected by wind than our 8' long 4' tall sheet of plywood sized 700 pound sail.
  11. Check and verify that the grounds are clean. If that doesn't fix it , pull the float assembly and make sure the wiper and coil resister make good contact through the full range of motion. I've had to solder an isolated ground wire on the float assembly on other bikes before.
  12. From the diaphragm side, look to the right(I think) bottom corner, back under the cast carb body. There is a screw recessed in the side of the carb. you can reach it with the carbs on the bike and the side covers removed. I don't remember if the lower fairing leg is in the way or not. I'm away from home and can't get a picture for you right now.
  13. IFRC, They actually TEE together and are both connected to the crank case vent. I may be wrong. I'm on the road and can't go look at The Beast to verify. If you are going to leave the filter in place, you could cap both ports.
  14. That's not actually the drain plug. The drain plug is a Cross Tip screw. IFRC, it's on the right hand side of the carb and does take a longer driver to get at it. It's recessed a bit in the casting. You don't need to remove it, just turn it out a couple turns. It's basically a blunt needle valve. Be careful not to over tighten it. You can smash the seat and cause a leak.
  15. I picked up an assortment of small e clips from a local RC Race shop. The enricher rod uses one of the larger ones in that set.
  16. The ports should connect to to the vent on the Twinky between the jugs on the top of the crank case. The air system is an engineered restriction and works best when all the covers are in place.
  17. I really have no way of knowing if your issue is CDI related but can highly recommend the IGNITECH TCIP4 with connector adapter for your Gen1, MK1 Venture. Email ignitech@ignitech.cz and give them your bikes specs and ask for a quote. It's well under $300.00
  18. I'm in NE Ohio and ride as long as the roads are clear. I wear a set of cold weather gear from XElement bought from Leatherup.com. The set I have is about 10 years old so it may not be available anymore. I think I paid around $150 for the jacket and pants together. I wear a full face modular helmet and a full face gator when it's below 35 deg. or so. I did spend a good amount of $ on a pair of water proof Joe Rocket insulated gloves and and boots. I might consider going heated when I replace the gloves and boots.

  20. There ain't no feed store in Pagosa Springs! This is an inside family joke and it tickles me that you found our little secret! I will definitely add the Code Talker display and the Wolf Creek run to bucket list.
  21. No new pics as the little guy still looks exactly like the last pic. We did get a driving light bar, Tomb Stone tail light, rear turn signals, new hand controls, including a clutch perch w/ clutch interlock switch(which was not present originally) and a new front break lever w/MC. Kris is getting the wiring in order and I'm working on modifying the control pods. We could not find controls for 1" bars that had a single indicator switch in the left pod anywhere so I ordered a set for 7/8" bars and machined the "journals" to fit the 1" bars. Now I'm working making the throttle cable fit properly. Now I need to track down caliper rebuild kits for the Honda Rebel calipers and see if Earl will make us up some new brake lines. Then we need to start fixing the tins, most of which are actually plastic and getting them ready for paint. I'm thinking metallic emerald green and cream in a classic FLH two tone scheme.

  23. Beauty and I are still here. The Beast is still in the family under my son's control now. I'm now looking to add a 2nd gen to the stable, though I'm not in any hurry.
  24. Yesterday Went for a quick ride to a local custom shop shopping for parts for the Vento build that turned into a 100+ mile CTFW experience. Very good for the Soul.
