  1. Not sure if you plan to use the CB system or not, but I completely removed my stereo system and installed a blue-tooth amp. Here is the link to a discussion about it. https://www.venturerider.org/forum/topic/69258-2009-venture-stereo/?tab=comments#comment-795494 Ron
  2. I have a spare ignition switch that you can try if cleaning your contacts doesn't do the trick. Let me know. Ron
  3. You have to turn it backwards to remove the tool.
  4. They are holding up well so far. Yes the coil is contained within the caps.
  5. Tina and I would be interested. Ron
  6. I switched to coil over plug set up, here is a link to the discussion.
  7. Number 20. It is a spacer behind the plate, I think it is the number four carb.
  8. Puc I would check elsewhere for your prints, I work in a central booking facility and if someone has a finger that can't be printed there is an option to skip that finger with reason selected. Ron
  9. I did get lucky, just wanted to post this so if anyone else is looking to purchase these just found more on eBay for about same price.
  10. I just googled part number 5EA-1111G-00-00 and found them on e-bay for $47.00 for all 16 seals. Only took about 2 weeks to get them. Wasn't in a huge rush so saved about $150 by waiting. Ron
  11. Yes I completely removed the factory stereo and cb system.
  12. Prayers for comfort for your entire family. Thankfully no more suffering. Ron
  13. I am happy with the phone holder, been using it for about 65,000 miles or so. Had my phone in it a couple years ago when we wrecked my first venture, my phone stayed in the holder during the slide and only came out when the bike dug in and flipped. Ron
  14. I used the existing wires. I removed the plug end from the original stereo and connected the amp wires to it so I could plug into the bikes wiring without having to cut the bikes wiring. Yes this is a amp that will blue-tooth music from your phone to the amp. I used the original bike speakers. I think they sound fine. I wasn't expecting a lot of bass just wanted clearer sound, I think that the extra watts put out by the amp makes the sound a lot clearer. Ron
  15. It mounts in the same place as the original. I had to make a bracket to attach it, but it wasn't hard. Ron
  16. I've had one of these installed since 2016 big improvement. https://www.amazon.com/Waterproof-Motorcycle-Bluetooth-Amplifier-Powersports/dp/B074X456TN/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=marine+grade+bluetooth+amp&qid=1609132766&sr=8-6 . The control is almost identical size to the original. Ron
  17. Prayers for a complete and speedy recovery. Ron

  19. Jay not sure if you found one yet but I just came across this listing on e-bay :https://www.ebay.com/itm/2001-Yamaha-Royal-Star-Venture-XVZ-1300-XVZ13TF-Clarion-radio-CB-box-JC-215R/154226818597?hash=item23e8a27e25:g:ISMAAOSwwz1fykTR . Ron
  20. I was swapping out motors when I found the high output stator was burned. The motor that I was installing in the bike had a stator that looked new when I pulled the cover so I just stuck with it. Ron
  21. I tried the high output stator several years ago and will never use it again. I pull the cover off after only about 12,000 miles on it and it was already burnt half way up the stator from the heat. I got a shindengen rectifier from http://roadstercycle.com/ and matched it with a stock stator, been running this set-up for about 45,000 miles with no issues. I have an volt meter installed and with this set-up I run with 14.2 volts consistently. I ordered the The Super Mosfet Kit FH020AA this kit only uses the three stator wires coming to the rectifier and includes a harness that goes directly to the battery, make sure if you order it you get a good measurement of the length needed to reach your battery once you route the wires. To answer your question about whether they are the same units or not, they are not. The ones for $22.99 is a cheap knockoff unit. Ron
  22. My brother in law bought a trunk off of Ebay to put on his nomad, when it arrived there was no key for it. He contacted the seller and was told that he didn't have a key for it. I had a couple of key blanks for a venture so I took a tumbler out of one of the helmet locks and inserted the blank into it and measured, marked, filed and continued until no lock tabs protruded from the tumbler. I then took that blank to a hardware store and had them cut both sides of the second blank from the one that I had filed, the key works great. It takes time and is tedious but you only need to file one side of the blank then have a new one cut with both sides matching your filed key. Took me about 45 minutes or so to file it. Hope this helps. Good luck. Ron
  23. If you change your own tires shinko 777HD is the way to go. I previously used commander II tires and liked them. This year after reading post on here about the shinko 777HD I decided to give them a try since I change my own tires. They have the best grip of any tire that I have tried on my bike. I just changed out my rear tire after 8,000 miles, and the front should last through two rears. I was getting between 15,000 and 16,000 miles on the commander II's, so it really all comes down to what you are looking for. Ron
