  5. I had a 150 on for about the first year and a half that I owned the bike, but then decided to try the commander II tire since I could no longer get the avon venum X that i had been running. I had the leveling links on that raised the rear of the bike when I first installed the 130 and did notice a little less stability on the highway but the overall handling was much improved. I then removed the leveling links and went back to stock rear height and the stability is just as good as with the 150. I since have lowered the front 3/4" by sliding the forks up in the triple tree and lowered the rear by 1/2" and I think the combination is the best the bike has ever handled. Probably about 40% of my riding is two up and traveling with either my trailer on storage box in the hitch installed and have no complaints about the handling of the bike at any speed. Ron
  6. I won't run anything but Michelin commander II tires anymore, got 19,500 miles out of my last rear tire and could have probably got anther 1,000 but had a 1,700 mile trip planned and changed it before we left. They also handle great in the rain. Ron
  7. The bleeder and square rubber cap is actually on the left side of the engine..
  8. I have a repaired shock from Dave on my bike, because of rain and temps I only have about 500 miles on it, but so far I like the ride and handling better than the hagon shock I had on my bike. Thanks Dave
  9. I'm on my second set of commander II's. I got 19,000 out of the rear and 24,000 out of the front. I rode in the hardest rain that I have ever ridden in before just before changing the front tire and not one slip. I will never run anything but commander II's from now on. Ron
  10. The f4 shield does not follow the contour of the fairing. Ron
  11. Thanks to the WNY rally committee for putting on a great rally again this year. Tina and I had a great time again this year catching up with some old friends and meeting some new friends. If you have never attended this rally or its been a while you really should make plans to attend next years rally, you won't be disappointed. Ron
  12. Craig, Did compression check and found a couple cylinders pretty low compared to the other two. Since it has about 150,000 miles on it, figured I would replace it this winter with a lower mileage motor and go over everything. Tina and I Iove the bike and want to keep it, so might as well make sure it will last. Ron
  13. Looking for a low mileage second generation motor.
  14. Jay, I just replaced my switch this past February, the best price that I could find was at boats.net. Here is a link to the switch that I purchased http://www.boats.net/parts/detail/yamaha/Y-4XY-82501-20-00.html. Ron
  15. If you decide to do this my wife and I would probably be interested in attending. Ron
  16. I have the largest F4 windshield on my venture and love the improvement in the buffeting for both driver and passenger. Wiz
  17. Sam Sorry I'm just replying I just read this post and read your question to me. I replaced the whole assembly, I had to remove the glass from the headlight and cut the housing to install the new headlight. I also have xpite driving lights installed and couldn't be happier. The light output both night and day is amazing. Ron
  18. Sunpie is the headlight I've had in my bike for the past two years, along with the x-pite driving lights I am very pleased. I do a lot of night driving and this set up lights the road up better than any I've tried before. My riding buddies also comment quite often about how much more visible my bike is during the day. Ron
  19. I installed these https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B013O...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 in my bike last year what an amazing difference. If you search help with headlight options, and click on that post there is several pictures that I posted to how the difference. When I installed mine I had to slightly modify the small inner ring on my driving lights to allow these to fit didn't take much. I don't think you'll find a brighter light for $42.99. Ron
  20. I ordered mine off ebay. Just search for 25mm valve shims. I paid about $20.00 for 4 shims. There are all different sizes on there and fast shipping. Ron
  21. I replaced my rubber plugs about 18 months ago. And recently I had some antifreeze leaking down in about the same area. I took the fins off to place a coin on the back off the fins to stop the leak, but after further checking it was the hose going into the center of the valve cover area that was slightly leaking and the antifreeze was leaking down through the weep hole at the spark plug and running down the side cover just like when the rubber plugs were leaking. I have had this happen on both off the hoses going into the valve cover area on both sides of the bike. While you are pulling the fins double check those hoses just to make sure. Ron

  23. I took the complete ashtray assembly out of a 1987 ford bronco I I. I mounted the upper assembly into the cassette player housing and then made a 4" x 5 3/4" tray out of 22 gauge steel. I then cut the sides off of the ashtray and welded them onto the tray I made. Then I cut the fold down door from the cassette player housing and cleaned the foam out of the inside of the door and filled it with jb weld. After that hardened I drilled and threaded 4 holes to secure it to the front of the tray. Ron
