  1. As some of you know, I have a problem,,,, I know what you are thinking, but this is a new one. I ride a 2014 Spyder and installed JMCB 2003 for a CB and intercom. The intercom works fine, and the CB broadcasts just fine. Now if we get 2 CBs close together I can hear the other, if they are more than 4ft apart I can't hear the other person. I can hear a tapping on their mic, but no voice comes through. Now hear is the next problem then. I contacted JM corp and they would like me to try to use one of their headsets. I use the Edsets with the proper cord, but they were wondering if I could try one of theirs. SO!!!! anybody in the area have a set they could lend me??
  2. New here. I do rebuild a 1977 Yamaha XS750 a few years ago but had to sell it. I am now looking at a 85 venture at a dealership new here. He is asking $2450 but told him I would offer him less and he seemed open to the idea. This would be my first larger bike. My question is, what should I be aware of as far as issues with these bikes. I have seen stuff on the 2nd gear and it scares me a bit. Not enough to get away from the bike yet but..... The bike looks to be in nice condition and the old owner left his contact info so that he could be contacted regarding the bike but I am just trying to do some homework. Going back to look at in this week and hope to have some better ideas. I think I am going to start off around $1600. KBB list the resale at $1995 in excellent condition and although it is in good condition it is not excellent. Any help would be great. Thanks.
  3. Had chaps made by them, to protect my bad legs from the heat of the day. Only got mesh on the backs. Now I have the Harley I'm feeling bike heat bad on the back of my right thigh...due to it being stiff, and the angle straight down. Contacted Lorna to purchase some heat shield fabric....won't let me pay! She is going to hem it for me AND mail it to utadventure's address -- at her cost :clap2::clap2: Nice folks:sign yeah that:
  4. Just got back from Charlene's second follow up for her spine surgery, which went very well, she is healing up fine, back pain is gone, at the same office we had an appointment with another surgeon to look at her hip and knee, she will be having her right hip replaced sometime in May, which is just around the corner, she is releived that we are moving on a lot quicker than we expected. I think if it were me I would have contacted Dr. "K" by now....but she has put up with more than I ever could, then if she still needs it the knee will be replaced next. Charlene spoke to the Dr. office today and the date is set for May 19, so in a little over 2 1/2 weeks back to the hospital. Like I have said before, this is her rebuilding year...........
  5. I have a Blackberry Bold and I bought a mount from "the Mountguys" on the web. It was a fairly inexpensive way to mount the BB to listen to my music. However, after about 30 days I noticed a crack in the back of the mount and within another month the crack was all the way across the mount and it broke in half. I contacted the Mount Guys and they denied ever having a problem with them but, replaced the head (holder part) anyway. Well another 45 days later and I have a large crack across the back of my newest holder. I contacted the Mountguys and they informed me that they still have had no issues from anyone else on this mount and would not be replacing it again in spite of the fact that both item failed in exactly the same place and manner. Those of you who know me know that my 99 is well kept and in fact, still looks almost new and I take good care of it so the part was not abused. I am now going to find another supplier for some type of mount to hold my BB as, I have already run the cable back into the fairing and cleaned up the look etc. I won't buy again from this provider. Anyone have suggestions for a BB mount on the handlebars? boo www.mountguys.com :sign **** happens:
  6. Thought I had already posted a thank you to Cliff and FLB 78. I think that is the right folks. Anyway last week we had a wee bit of a problem in El Paso. And the only place I could think of at the time of night was on here. You guys were great. Cliff contacted FLB and I got the bike fixed with his instructions. We even made it all the way back to Oklahoma. So thanks to you both. I owe you two. If you are ever up here and need anything let me know. SS
