Has anyone ever used or know anything about chargeGUARD which is supposed to help keep your battery charged should you want to run two sets of warm weather gear. I know zip about the electrical system but been told that the Venture doesn't have enough juice to run 2 sets of Gerbings so I was researching and found the chargeGUARD...it sounds too good to be true so before I invest I was hoping I could get knowledge and/or advice from those that know... Thanks in advance.... Dee Ride Safe

I am in Perth, Australia. I have recently purchased a 2006 Venture and have wired in our head sets from a custom made audio system from another bike. The speakers work fine, but the mic's don't. I've got the correct plug pins order from Gary L Mace on this website, checked all my wiring thoroughly, checked for short circuits and continuity, adjusted the intercom volumn, set the audio system to HS, made sure both rider and pillion sets are plugged in and even made up additional test wiring harnesses, front and rear, with 5 pin plugs at one end and aligator clips at the other and connected another set of speakers and mic's from a friend and the mic's still don't work. I've tried swapping the order, but then nothing works. However, another friend with a 2004 Venture bought after market head sets from the USA that were made for the Honda Goldwing and we plugged them into my bike and the mic's worked okay. I'm totally stumped. Does anyone know if the audio system has a built in blocker to prevent us using after market products not made for these bikes, or what may be causing my problem. Cheers.

I was just wondering if anyone knew of a hand held mic that could plug into our socket base on the RSMV tank. I didn't want to go to the helmet sets yet but was wanting to be able to talk on the CB while riding. We can hear the external speakers just fine. Any ideas???? Moakster

My "new" 06RSV came with the stock pipes (that appear to have had the stage 1 mod done to drill some holes) and also with a set of Baron's Bag Slash pipes. The stock pipes are still a bit too mild, but the Barons are too loud for me. I've been reading on the site about people liking Bubs & RoadKing pipes...just wondering where they would fit sound wise compared to the 2 sets I already have. Ideally I'd like something in between the two sets I already have. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for the help...this site is great!

Hi, Just ordered three sets of brake pads from Dennis Kirk for my 83 VR....I've searched for posts - found some good stuff on bleeding...is the actual change over much of a problem? It appears all three sets of calipers should come right off...guess I'm looking for any hidden issues. Thanks in advance, Rick

Just wanted to come on and let the 2nd genners know that I have 3 sets of the R/K brackets ready to ship. I haven't recieved emails back from the folks that had been waiting, so these are going 1st come 1st served. Here is the classified ad on the site http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php/product/288/cat/7/limit/recent/date/1157932426

IMPORTANT For all of those who purchased sets of MAC Mufflers this last time around please open them as soon as you get your shipments. Richard opened his and found that both mufflers were for the right side. Someone out there has two lefts, and we need to get this straightened out. There must have been a mix up at the factory when boxing them up. If you do find a pair of lefts drop me a PM. We need to get this problem squared away. ~CONDOR~ PS: I just called MAC and they only built 10 sets to order, so one of us has a box with two lefts in it. BTW: the left side has the extra tang up front for the center stand rubber bumper. The right side has the one for the frame mount only.

going to have to change mine out here soon and was wondering if anyone has used aftermarket wires like Accels instead of the factory sets?

I've been having problems with the original head sets ('01) shorting out and not working most of the time, so I replaced them with a couple of "Chatter Box" head sets. Well, here's the problem... the rear set can send but not receive (she can't hear a dang thing I say, but I can hear everything she says!). Consequently, the problem must be in the wiring for the back set. Can a person with little or no (me) mechanical abiltiy replace the back part of the intercom system?
