  1. Even though I no longer have my beloved Venture, I thought maybe someone on this site might have some info for me. It seems to be very hard to find information on actual mounting devices and methods. I know there are kits etc but there does not seem to be any specifics out there in cyber space. I am looking for information especially pictures of how these sidecars (Velorex in my case) are mounted in the hope that I will find one that applies to my 800 Kawi Vulcan. Any help, leads etc would be appreciated. Maybe someone from the dark side can help with tire application etc.. Thank You for any help from North Bay ON.
  2. His Mail Box, is Full !! Can sombody get him this information ?? Empty your mail box, Atlanta !!!!!
  3. TopV

  4. Question: 2003 and back to about 1998 I believe, VL 1500 Intruder, Suzuki V-Twins. ?? I been researching them as a possible bike for my son. As in, looking for a good deal on a used bike. Anyway, does anybody have any information as to any types of known problems with these bikes. I guess the 2004 and up, are known as the C90 -- From what I can find the 03 and older ones, at least on E-Bay, have been selling for around $4500.00 I found 5 that have sold on E-Bay, this month for that Average Price. So, any comments , good or bad would be apprciated, just looking for information on them at this point. Thanks-

    2009 RSV Info

I, like many others, have been waiting to see what 2009 is going to offer in the way of the RSV:bang head:. All I have came up with has been speculation and everyone's "I think" which I have plenty of my own hopes and wishes. I checked the http://www.starmotorcycles.com/ site today and they at least had added the following information 2009 MODEL INTRO Experience new models Monday September 8, 2008 3 PM Eastern "I think" this is the information we have been waiting on! So now we just have to keep doing the same thing, wait and see:draming:. I am wanting a new RSV so bad I can't hardly stand it. My plans are to have a new bike some time in September:mo money:.
  6. I thought that I had posted this question a couple of weeks ago, but since I have never seen a reply, I figure that I must have hit cancel instead of submit. And, I guess that there's a good chance that this question has already been asked and answered - if so please direct me accordingly. TSBs ..., are they available to the general consumer through any channels. Or, are they semi-secret documents which are carefully guarded once distributed to the dealer's and their mechanics? It just seems like it would be a great resource for those of us who like to be as informed as possible regarding everything about our fine machines. And in today's world of easily accessible information it would almost be surprising if such information hadn't been published at least in some sort of non-official way. Any thoughts? Thanks! Pete.
  7. One of the things that goes with our hobby is bad things happen. Therefore, I feel it is real important that you carry an ICE card, that's an "In Case of Emergency" card with pertinant phone number contacts. I have one that I carry on me and I also have another one in my motorcycle. I have my name, my wife's, my son's and my two sister's names and phone numbers listed. I printed them up on yellow paper and laminated them at work and I have them about the size of credit card. I hope I never need them, but if I do, the information is available. With todays use of cellular phones, it is not as easy to look up information as it once was. RandyA

  9. Dummy me broke my CB antennae while removing my bike cover off my 2002 Venture...the Dealer wanted $180.00 to replace the OEM antennae plus labor. A friend told me I should swap out the OEM antennaes for an upgraded version. He suggested I use semi truck antennaes. He said he knew someone had done it before but he did not know how. While at a big truck stop, I spoke to a CB shop and they needed a ton of information about the bikes antennae, CB and radio before he would work on it. Of course, I knew none of the info he needed and nothing was in the owners manual. So, is there anyone out there that knows how to do this or has this information and can help me out? I would need to know which antennaes to purchase, any info about the process and who I can take it to, to have the work compelted. I would like to take it to my dealer but am open to whatever makes the most sense. Thanks in advance for any help...
  10. Will it ever end or would someone please get a handle on these people. Jury Duty Scam DO NOT DELETE WITHOUT READING ! This has been verified by the FBI (their link is also included below). Please pass this on to everyone in your email address book. It is spreading fast so be prepared should you get this call. Most of us take those summonses for jury duty seriously, but enough people skip out on their civic duty, that a new and ominous kind of fraud has surfaced. The caller claims to be a jury coordinator. If you protest that you never received a summons for jury duty, the scammer asks you for your Social Security number and date of birth so he or she can verify the information and cancel the arrest warrant. Give out any of this information and bingo; your identity was just stolen. The fraud has been reported so far in 11 states, including Oklahoma , Illinois , and Colorado . This (swindle) is particularly insidious because they use intimidation over the phone to try to bully people into giving information by pretending they are with the court system. The FBI and the federal court system have issued nationwide alerts on their web sites, warning consumers about the fraud. Check it out here: http://www.fbi.gov/page2/june06/jury_scams060206.htm And here: http://www.snopes.com/crime/fraud/juryduty.asp
  11. Folks: Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the Hartco seat on the Second Gen Venture. If so, can you offer a comparison to the stock units or other aftermarket seats? Previously, I had a good experience using the Hartco seat on my Honda Valkyrie. This information is being requested with the full understanding that each persons derriere is different. Thx.
  12. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=19765 Just wanted to let everyone know - if they haven't scrolled down the forums page lately, the updated information is posted for the Yosemite Ride. Also, if those of you in the Central / Northern (even the L.A. area) want to send me a PM with your e-mail address, I do send out some updated ride information and can include you on the distribution list. Thanks, guys - have a good one and see ya in week.
  13. I have ordered some samples and the DVD information concerning the products. I also ordered the training videos. In addition I am getting the information on the Emergency Pressure Dressing also known as an Israeli Dressing. I will have all of this available in a few weeks. I have space available for a website that I have never used. I think I will host some of this stuff there. If there is interest, I can try and put together an emergency first aid for motorcyclists type thing. I can also demonstrate some of these things at M&E's or rallies. JB
  14. I ran across this website. It has a lot of information about General Motorcycling. Checkout all of the articles under the safety tab. http://www.msgroup.org/articles.aspx Dwight

  18. What kind of jacket(s) and other riding garments do you own? Why do you like them? What are their weaknesses? Any tips on who to buy from and what to buy? Christmas is coming and I am sure this information will be useful to us all.
  19. A long time ago, in the days of B.C. (before crash), there was a thread with this title. I had bookmarked it, but post crash now it's gone. IIRC the information, someone had described how he put regular headlights in the passing lamps housings that had both high and low beams to them. I would really like to find this information again, especially what lamps were used and where to find them. Anybody have any information on this?
  20. Getting ready to walk out the door to get my new scoot. It's been a very long month without one. The wife has been in withdrawls not riding. Looks like a good weekend for some riding. I'll post pictures and give you more information when we get back. Hopefully Friday evening. It'll probably be that long before I decide to get off the bike. Let the riding begin.
  21. I have been told there is a bike rally this weekend at Fontana Dam but I can't get any information. Do any of you know anything about this? Thanks
  22. Canadians who make a habit of selling goods on eBay should brace themselves for some attention from the tax department. ADVERTISEMENT The Canada Revenue Agency has won the right to examine files of the auction site's so-called "power sellers" - those Canadians who generate at least $1,000 US a month in billings from their online sales. The tax department wants to know if these big sellers are declaring their eBay income. A recent Federal Court of Canada decision affirms an order last year that requires eBay Canada to provide tax officials with the full account information on these sellers, including their names, user IDs, mailing addresses, billing addresses, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses. The online giant must also supply merchandise sales information about the power sellers, including gross annual sales. The order applies to any Canadian individual or business who had power seller status in Canada at any time during 2004 and 2005. EBay Canada lawyers had argued that the computers that housed the information were located in California. But under questioning, eBay lawyers acknowledged that the information was easily accessible in Canada by its Canadian operation. "The reality is that the information is readily and instantaneously available to those within the group of eBay entities in a variety of places," wrote Mr. Justice Roger Hughes of the Federal Court of Canada. "It is irrelevant where the electronically-stored information is located or who as among those entities, if any, by agreement or otherwise asserts 'ownership' of the information." Mr. Justice Hughes noted that the Income Tax Act permits the Canada Revenue Agency to carry out somewhat of a fishing expedition. "The wording of subsection 231.2(1) is very broad; it enables the minister to require 'any person' to provide 'any information'," he wrote. "The only constraint is that the request must be made 'for any purpose related to the administration or enforcement of this Act'." But eBay Canada lawyers said the government had failed to show sufficient evidence that the tax agency was carrying out a "genuine and serious inquiry" into power sellers, as a previous court ruling had required. Hughes reserved judgment on that part of the case, pending a later hearing. EBay is the largest online auction site in the world. In its most recent fiscal year, it reported revenues of almost $6 billion US.
