  1. "See ya'll down there, pray for a rain free weekend!!!! yeah right, this is NY, we might just get snowed on:snow2::snow2:" Come on now, it's August. No more than a 40% chance of snow/sleet/freezing rain. However, :sign **** happens:
  2. Not sure which Metzler your running but my ME 880 rear seems to run best at 40 to 42 psi. I always looked at the "max pressure" as don't go over this amount.
  3. At least for this one I am camping at the MicroTel. I have not had the time or money to get myself a trailer together or the hitch mounted. So, motel it is for this one. We would really rather camp at Pioneer.
  4. Cougar, update / upgrade the speakers and fall in love with the music again. Don't have to break the bank, 4" Polk DB something or others in my faring sound pretty good.
  5. Gotta chime in here and disagree with a couple posts. I have had mine in play for about 2 weeks now and it has been great. A bunch more punch. It was a snap to install. I actually hid it in my fairing mounted with nothing more than mini cell foam and industrial Velcro. I used the high gain setting for speaker level inputs. I left the 20 amp inline fuse in front of a 10 amp fuse on my accessory panel. Have not blown the 10 amp yet even at excessive volume levels. At 2500 plus my (oh so highly accurate:whistling:) stock amp gauge shoes nothing different than before. I have no lighting issues and no battery issue so far. I also run 2 30 watt HID running lights, but not all the time. The best sound so far seems to come from using a USB thumb drive. That sounds better than even my Ipod. My stereo has a much better sound and more volume when wanted and so far there is no down side. The amp is mated to a Clarion CMS 1 head unit. Great combination.
  6. I hear ya. The tiny screw for the clutch master cylinder. $2.35. Each.
  7. Along the lines of PB Blaster or WD 40, PB is OK, WD is nearly useless. (opinions vary) Find a can of thunderbolt. It is the be all end all for loosening corroded fasteners and reclaiming rusted tools and such.
  8. Hello and welcome to the asylum, er, forum. If you deduct the cost of what it would cost to import and register it for the first time, you stole it. And it looks SUPER sweet. Congratulations and good luck.
  9. Count the days till the WNY mini rally.
  10. My first thought, not a newsflash. He will have a phone app that uses gps to locate the nearest dealership soon. They all need that first service though. I wont bash his Harley. They sound great. And they,,,,,sound great.
  11. That's how I broke it. I took a 5 meter strip of red 5050's and cut them into 15 LED strips and ran 6 or them with 4 "Knight rider" strips for brake lights. Dropped the reflector, and then stepped on it. I did silicone it back into place and it doesn't look TOO bad actually. If I can find one reasonably priced though, I'll replace it.
  12. Anyone have one for sale. Screwed up and broke mine. $50 plus unknown shipping on eBay is the cheapest. For one that isn't broken. Someone has a NOS for (drum roll please) $220:mo money:

My buddy Tim had a CB1000 Custom. Very nice bike. Once I sold him my 84 VR he put the Honda up for sale. I'm not sure I would have done that. If the bike hadn't gotten so high a price I may very well have bought it.
  15. It's also best to have the bike on the center stand. And do the front first o as not to over pressure the forks with residual air pressure from putting air in the rear.
  16. I bought my Clarion XC 1410 from Crutchfield. Well, I eneded up with no turn on, nothing at all. Checked power, fuses, etc. Even hooked the remote turn on to the battery and still nothing. Well, stuff happens so I called and waited for the run around. Once I described my trouble shooting I found that their return policy is, Email me an RMA. Send me a brand new unit at no charge. Not even shipping. Install the new one, put the old one in the box with their prepaid shipping label and drop at UPS. The biggest hassle was getting my chin off the desk. I was so impressed and Lloyd (who gave me his direct extension in case I had to call back) was so truly surprised the unit malfunctioned that I went to take another look. Turns out my bargain ground block had multiple bad posts. Was getting an intermittent ground. The unit worked once properly grounded. I called back immediately and got straight through to Lloyd, fessed up my lack of smarts, and he cancelled the shipment and thanked me for my follow through. It doesn't get much better than that. Good prices too.
  17. Keep in touch and I'll let ya know. Unless God has a real sense of humor, I'm pretty much doomed. I'll probably push a Harley for eternity.
  18. Is the 2nd Gen mileage that bad? I just thought when I was riding alone added range would be cool.
  19. auxiliary Carbon1 gas tank?
  20. You just keep telling yourself that. You will talk yourself into liking that 2nd Gen yet. :stickpoke:Remember, I have but 1 and just ride and ride and ride. As a matter of fact, that red light getting smaller and smaller in front of you? Probably a 1st Gen.
  21. Can you imagine the comments from his Harley riding buddies regarding not only a Honda, but a PINK Honda?
  22. Have my 86, and sold my 84 to a buddy. Regret selling it. Will own at least one more. MK1 or MK2? Unsure. Want to make a totally nekkid version.
  23. :sign yeah that:Just got another bit of my $12 back.
  24. My real world wonder is my 2 30 watt HID lamps (no problem there so far) plus the 50 watt x 4 channel Clarion amp that mysteriously has appeared in my shed. I read about it here actually and it was so small and matched my Clarion head unit so I guess wishful thinking and internet access just "poofed" it here. Haven't left it hooked up yet due to electrical load concern. I don't seem to have any charging system issues at least according to the stock dashboard gauge. Guess I'll just have to hook it up and try it to see if I have battery drain. Charging system upgrade got tabled due to the finding of a Marlin 1894 (1979 so pre Remington) in .44 Magnum. My (Remlin) 1894 in .357 Magnum was lonely. But no more guns! Unless I find a pre Remington model 336 in .35 Remington,,,,,,,
  25. Nah, waiting for the 2nd Gens to get there.
