  1. Oops, and lets keep the air ride.
  2. Hmmm, 2000cc V6 FI, with ABS, shaft drive, full fixed fairing, built in GPS, heated grips, heated seat, adjustable height vented windshield, bluetooth compatible, high powered sound system plus the usual stuff like cruise and CB might make it interesting... Too much motor, screw ABS, rather choose my own GPS, heated stuff? , and don't care for having a CB really. Which just goes to show the problem manufacturers have. Can't make everybody happy. My perfect Venture has the 1300 with EFI tuned for torque and mileage, de linked brakes and no ABS, full fixed fairing with some wind tunnel testing so it doesn't affect triple digit handling, vented shield, stereo with bluetooth and POWERFUL sound, and cruise. Enough electrical power for lights and stuff. Other than the EFI I can get most of that accomplished with my antique. I've said a time or 2 that I would rather put a ton of cash into an older rig to make it liveable in the real world. My 1st Gen may finally be the vehicle that makes me put my money where my mouth is. I'm just lovin' it more with every mile.
  3. It's easy to be tough, when ya live in Georgia!
  4. One of the many benefits of 1st Gen ownership.

I have had that same thing happen on a road trip. It only took 4 hours or so to "fix" it, but had it been on the overnight or if I had no cash, I would have been screwed. Take some cash, EPS systems crash, their comm goes down, you name it. Have fun and good luck.
  6. I wasn't going to mention any of that. Didn't want to spoil his fun before he even got it on the water. By definition, Boat: a hole in the water surrounded by wood, metal or fiberglass, into which you shovel . My last named boat was, Miss B. Haven. It fit.
  7. Congrats dude. Regal is a fine boat and that one looks flat out cherry. 344 hours is nothing.
  8. Roughly 8000 miles on my set. No cupping or uneven wear of any kind. It looks like ai should get at least 12000 out of the rear. More from the front. For some reason my rear tires always wear out first. I have used Metzler for years with good luck.
  9. I am not a rocket scientist. My company budget won't allow Holiday Inn Express. (not cheap in Mass.) I am also to poor to drop my scoot. Um, I forgot where I was going with this. But here is what is left of my thought. My crankshaft and my wheels spin on the same plane. (probably the wrong term) The faster my wheels spin the more stable my bike is. (or seems) So, it follows (in my mind) that the faster my crank spins it has to help. When I try to turn a U tightly, I keep my revs up. I don't slip the clutch, but if needed I do engage and disengage it to maintain movement. I haven't fallen down in awhile.
  10. My tire gauge IS wireless. And battery less, and sensor less.
  11. Female guitarist? Youtube - Jess Greenburg - start with Wonderwall
  12. I have always enjoyed classical works on guitar. She is an amazing talent.
  13. :sign yeah that:Amen Brother I get to scrape foot pegs on the VR. Start scraping side parts on my Taurus and things are bad.
  14. Well, never ran the dragon but any road is sometimes "safer" at night just because I can better tell if there is oncoming traffic. Deer, bear, skunk, coon, and such? Don't over drive the lights and watch for them.
  15. Someone was on just recently and with a "fine tune" of teh carbs nd such got into the high 40's. If I remember right even 2 up? Crushes my mileage which is right in line with you guys.
  16. Just sayin, Jetson-mobile sound. Or is mine just weird?
  17. Men have always been uncomplicated creatures. We (OK, I need) need food, sleep, fun, and sex. Order of importance is subject to change. And sleep is pretty well optional depending on if any of the other options are in play.
  18. Illogical or not, your right. Something about the angle makes it easier. Which begs the question. How did it become "the rule" that you get on a horse or a motorcycle from the left side only? To the point I actually feel I am doing something wrong if I get on from the high side.
  19. Well, the rule is if we drop our bike. Don't remember a rule regarding our bikes throwing us to the ground.
  20. I've been playing "musical oil" and only going 2000 at most between changes. Comparing Lucas 10 - 40 to Lucas 20 - 50 synthetic at $10 a quart the 10 - 40 is smoother shifting for more miles. The lighter weight might be a bit quieter also. I see no better results than I had with Rotella 20 - 50 synthetic and it is almost half the price. The next time I buy oil I am going to try the lighter weight Rotella synthetic if I can find it. In a few short months I will be having the same discussions :rotf:with other friends as I experiment with 2 stroke oils. (I am getting back into snowmobiles again. ) Sledders will tell you that you HAVE to run Cat, or Yamalube, or Amsoil. But I have yet to lose an outboard or sled engine running Tech3 from WalMart. (but it does smoke terribly)
  21. Please tell me that was a fish eye lens.
  22. Sorry for your loss folks.
  23. Flyin' is right. If anyone noticed the led's in my trunk light at Pioneer the color choice is more than obvious. I have 5 red strips and one white strip. I f'd one red strip up and had to use a white strip in it's place. The difference is red and pale washed out yellow/white.
  24. Bump again. I didn't log mine either. Figured to just refer here. Not a real big deal. But was a neat idea.
  25. I'm new here. The WNY event was my first. I had a GREAT time. We had Harleys and Kamasakis, Can Ams and Lord knows what else there this year. I would really like to see this event take off a bit. Enough to help Pioneer keep it and other events like it going for years to come. I'm for sending out a general "Y'all Come!" :whistling:As for anyone not riding a 1ST Gen, well it sucks to be them. But at least they ride. (we need LOTS and LOTS of 1st Gens there next year:whistling:)
