  1. slowly .... ever so s l o w l y ... the secrets are being revealed :D ok, so we now got the cooking method ... how do ya make cornbread batter? c'mon guys...fess up ... and what about that chili recipe?? oh, I forgot ... I can't eat chili no matter how much I like it .... it absolutely HATES me!
  2. ahhhhhhh .... now I get it ... I was envisioning LOADS of bacon grease and the cornbread basically "deep-frying" in it....
  3. methinks it's time you boys put together a Cornbread Cookbook and posted it here for the rest of us. 'taint fair all this talk and me sittin here a droolin ... c'mon ... share the secrets!
  4. OMG!!! talk about being CAUGHT IN THE ACT huh? :rotf: Well, to be honest, your "recipe" does sound yummy... years ago I always saved the bacon grease... then when it was cold I'd smear in on a slice of thick buttered bread...add some salt & pepper.... ooohhhhhhhhhhhh man that was sooooooo good. These days I tend to stay away from as much of that kinda stuff as I can.... allows me to CONSUME MORE RUM & RIBS!
  5. Logic tells me the same thing but I just couldn't find anything that specifically states that...as some oils do.
  6. eewwwwwwwww ... talk about a cholesterol rush!!! you tryin to kill yourself??
  7. Anyone using Castrol Grand Prix 4 stroke motorcycle oil 10w40? I can't find anywhere that it states it's compatible with wet clutch (although I have no doubt it is). This is not the synthetic one.
  8. I saw the listing price... WOW ... similar out here would be minimum 3 times that price ... I think I'm gonna move to your neck of the woods! congrats!
  9. Harle Road King's slip right on and give a nicer sound. Do a search on here ... there's ton's of info.
  10. I see the pinstripe on the bag... looks identical to the store-bought decals I had on my '85 !
  11. When our postman has a package to deliver and nobody is home, a "pickup" card is left, stating that a delivery attempt was made, where the parcel will be (which post office) and when it can be picked up. We take that card to the post office and get it. Possibly the card was left but got missed somehow (maybe buried in a bunch of junk mail and thrown out).
  12. now Sailor.... that was really you, wasn't it !
  13. Good suggestion...thanks; however, it's pretty rare that I would use one...at least at this stage of the game.
  14. I think I got the only one that was left. Although every piece of equipment here has been installed and setup by me and it all runs very smoothly and we have specialized software that runs the operation that I do a lot of custom programming for automation purposes with, my job is pretty slack to say the least. I could really do the work needed here on a contractual basis, off-site, remote connection and do what is required maybe 2 or 3 days out of two weeks. I believe they keep me here full-time only because it's written into their contract with the government and they get paid accordingly.
  15. I started out teaching computers in 1986. I then got into programming, setting up PC systems, networking, and consulting all the while, still working as a trainer. I built a pretty good "one man" operation just from "word of mouth" ..... such as your statement above. Unfortunately for those who "now know who to call".... I've stopped working for myself and only do the tech work for one company now and of course, the kids Having said that, if I was in your area when your PC crashed, I might consider taking a look at it... as a friend and fellow vr member.... and because I'm envious of your hair! :rotf:
  16. SATA & IDE are different... most PC's built within the last 3 or 4 years have SATA connectivity and some have both SATA & IDE where the SATA is used for the hard drive and the IDE is used for the CD and therefore generally has a second connector that a person can hook up another IDE peripheral such as an IDE hard drive. I am very familiar with what you've suggested, having been in this business for 22+ years; however, SATA connected drives do not have the same capability as the old IDE did where you could connect more than one device to the same cable and set them up as Master/Slave using jumpers or cable select....at least not on these PC's here at the office nor on my personal PC at home or on my son's. I will stand corrected on the above because I know there are such things as multipliers and other means of making that happen but I've not explored that technology...haven't needed to dig into hardware stuff like this for over 3 years now so my tech knowledge on this subject is not totally up-to-date.
  17. good idea and I'd thought of that but.... ya can't slave something when there are no additional SATA drive connections off the motherboard. (or am I missing something here ... I'm always open to new discoveries) In any event, it's too late for that now LOL Brian (friesman1) ... I wouldn't change shoes with ya for a second bud ... I think my job is pretty cushy in comparison.
  18. Changing it from an '87 to an '06
  19. Good point ... thanks. I will be doing them for sure this winter even tho I'm probably about 4k shy of 16. In fact, I will be doing a lot of preventative maintenance this winter whether it's due or not...and why not...it's a good way to spend those cold, wet days, a good way to really apply the great advice and articles here, and an excellent way to reduce possible downtime due to failure when riding season comes.
  20. Considering your response here Freebird, what is your take (or anyone's) on doing them at the 16k interval versus holding off for maybe the 32k mark (or somewhere in between). 16k just doesn't seem to be enuf of a time frame of riding to cause them to start wearing, or for that matter, for the "limited factory grease" to become so miniscule that it's not doing anything anymore ... I mean, they're not like a wheel bearing where they're spinning at a high speed. (just curious about this)
  21. That's it... bigger headers? What advantage is that? (other than appearance)?
  22. Boomer... are you saying you've spent a fortune fixing your wife only to find out she's not broke??
  23. huh??? I thought your name was Lutz ... not Klutz ... or is that your "unspoken" nickname?
  24. My '87 had a Vmax rear pumpkin ... that sukkah was quick... I liked it... might even put one on my '06 some day .... if nothing else it will keep me further out of the whine rpm range LOL
  25. yup... every new version of windows states the same thing...yet it never is unless you go out and buy 2-3 times the machine you have. They're all in cahoots methinks and we fall for it (or are forced into it).
