Actually, I can see you now too!!

I've had an '85, an '87, and now an '06 The '85 was better in the twisties and was solid to over 200 km/h The '87 had more power but I think it had a vmax rear end. It didn't handle as good as the '85 I liked both bikes immensely while I had them The '06 is great for long distance touring, 2 up ... very comfortable. Power is good but it sure doesn't handle like either of the other 2. Maybe when I change the tires, I'll change my statement but as it is now, there's no way I'd take the twisties like I did with my 1st gen's. The 2nd gen doesn't handle wind as good as either of the 1st gen's...primarilly due to the "handle-bar" mounted fairing versus frame mounted. Would I go back to a 1st gen? I really like their style but overall, I like the 2nd gen better so, no, I wouldn't...unless I had no other choice (ie, I couldn't afford the '06).

I did consider such a mounting location but I figgured they'd vibrate too much with the wheel. The ones on top move with the steering, the ones on the bottom always point straight ahead so I got illumination everywhere LOL

Yep... sure is... an '03 Anniversary Edition c/w stage 1 Screamin Eagle kit.

Thanks M8T ... and I'm not original on this one as I found where someone else on this site has used the same lights before me...I think they got theirs at WalMart.

The part # is 20-3726-8 I looked it up on-line and there it says 55 watt but on the package it says 35 watt.

Eash light set is tied into a switch so I can have either on or off whenever I want.

Only 3 times a week? Heck, I exercise twice a day... once when I put my clothes on in the morning when I get up and once again when I take my clothes off before bed!

Mounted them on home-made brackets off the highway pegs...

Sounds to me like the threads are stripped. Can youn get a "pry" of some sort under the lip of the screw head? If so, pry it out while turning it....the remaining threads will catch and out it will come... (just a thought)

She kept giving and I kept thanking.... Happy THANKSGIVING!!!

ICE in Texas??? .... and we're having a repeat of summer up here in the "frozen" north also known as the "wet" coast (west coast). all I can say is .... "neener... neener.."

That's correct... it was originally called MY IE ... and it still uses the IE engine but the browser interface is very good. Because it uses the IE engine, there are no compatibility issues whereas Firefox still has ... for example, I have two web based applications that I use at work and neither of them will run in Firefox. One of them is a Cisco email app. The other is a comercially available Incident Management/Ticketing system. I have the current version which is 2.5.8 http://www.maxthon.com/

Back atcha Brian! Since I don't do a lot of riding in the dark (now don't jump on that! lol), I'm not overly concerned about how they light up the road. Mostly there for whatever extra light they will give, the look, and so oncoming drivers can see me better. There's maybe 4 other styles of this light product but I like the chrome ones. I noticed also that Can Tire sells a similar horn as the Stebel Nautilus compact one but it's not chrome and they want $70.

Haven't tested them at night yet.

Canadian Tire has a new product line and I found these for $30 ... halogen 35watt. They look a lot better than the ones I had plus they're brighter. First pic is what I had.

I've installed it on a few PC's at work. Seems to be OK. I don't use IE myself. Been using Maxthon for 10 years and it's had tabbed browsing for much longer than any other browser. Hate FireFox ... it's too incompatible and really has nothing to offer that Maxthon doesn't. Never have compatibility issues with Maxthon. One of the neatest features of Maxthon is I can simply drag on a link and it opens it in a new tab.

Rear Splines. etc. Parts List
SilvrT replied to N3FOL's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
The splines on the driveshaft just slide into the splines of the u-joint. The whole thing is held in place when it's bolted up at the pumpkin/driveshaft tube with the 4 acorn nuts. -

correct ... you should not have to pull the driveshaft out of the pumpkin. Further, and I didn't explain this clearly before, if you do pull the shaft, you should put it back into the pumpkin before putting the whole thing back into the tube and into the u-joint. At least that's the way it worked for me and that's the way I see getting the shaft with the seal back into the pumkin properly. Simplest way is... pull the pumpkin with the driveshaft intact, lube the splines that go into the u-joint and put it back together. Use Eck's method. -

no... #33 goes at the pumpkin end, along with the circlip. The diagram is misleading because it has to be "blown up" that way. When you get it apart, you'll see. You will not have to deal with #9 ... that's inside on the pinion gear.
