  1. Leave to meet Joe in WV in the morning. Most likely will not turn my laptop on for 2-3 weeks. Will send update when I get to motels. When we part in Utah, heading west to CA, then north to Washington, and east via SD. Should be on the road 5 weeks.
  2. With any kind of luck, my RSV will out live me too.
  3. Makes me wonder why new Venture is SOO... heavy. RSV looks much heavier with V4, water cooling, drive shaft, mass in general...
  4. No longer 5 year unlimited warranty. 5 Year Warranty Coverage* -- *1 year limited factory warranty + 4 years Yamaha Extended Service = 5 years coverage.
  5. Wow! So sorry to hear this Bob! Glad Becky wasn't rattled too badly. Take care of yourselves!
  6. Revisited headlight today. Ever since I bought RSV, 40K miles ago, headlight has always pointed to the left. Since I don't drive much at night, was not too pressed to address problem. With the changeover to LED headlight, felt pressing need to adjust headlight before going out West for a month. Had to take fairing apart to center the beam, then used external knob to lower the beam. Will see how it looks at night.
  7. Jeannette wants me to say hi to Marshal Matt Dillon and Kitty at Dodge City.
  8. Getting excited! Reviewing and checking off items on trip preparation list. Two weeks before big western trip. Plan is to color in all white states on my states visited map.
  9. Use speed bleeders to flush my lines, no problems. Just put new fluid in reservoir, open speed bleeder 1/4 turn, squeeze lever, close bleeder and top off reservoir. For standard RSV: SB7100S - Front brakes SB8125L - Rear brake SB8125 - Clutch
  10. Wow is right!! So glad you are okay!

  12. AUX socket is activated with key.
  13. Did a lot of prep work on trike because I'm in no hurry to get back home. When Joe heads east for Mesa Verde on 6/29, I plan to head west and make a clockwise trip to pick up those lower 48 states that I have not visited with my trike. Going to be quite a summer!
  14. This maybe?? https://www.epgsoft.com/VisitedStatesMap/VisitedStatesMap2.php
  15. Doing rear brakes on my trike today. Plan to bleed my brakes anyway, so suctioned all fluid out of reservoir. Flushed pistons well with brake cleaner to remove dirt. Made a tool with a wooden dowel. This tool pressed the pistons in squarely with no difficulty. Tomorrow, I put everything back together.
  16. Did you slip and hit the kill switch? Could there be a short in the battery area that blew the main fuse?
  17. Wow Bob! That is some brake job! Will have to look at your trike some time.
  18. Find mechanic work to be very tiring. Trike has 40K miles. Front brake pads look like new. Just changed the fluid. Rear brake pads are worn. This will be the third set in the rear. Most of my braking is with the rear brakes, and the pads don't compare with the ruggedness of the front pads. Will continue with this project tomorrow.
  19. Curt Whitehead Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin For Sale - 2011 B&F Specialties Bunkhouse LX/SE .. $4,000
  20. Meet you at Canon City, after Don's MD. Looking forward to a great time!!
  21. Flasher mod worked great on my RSV trike.
  22. Performed flasher mod today to restore original blinker rate to new LED turn signals. Success! No need for load equalizers...
  23. Congrats on your new ride! Cannot stress enough how important it is to take your time mounting the rack. Make sure you measure the drill spots many times to be sure there is no mistake. New travel trunk upper costs $422.28. Measuring is tricky because lid is not flat. Did mine myself and used heavy string to measure from many points. The trunk and saddles are ABS plastic and can crack. Follow weight recommendation on rack label and in trunk, 10-20 lbs. Be careful of not putting heavy loose objects in your trunk. They can crack the travel trunk lower. New lower costs $669.41. Cracked mine under warranty, and dealer did a one time replacement. Yes, luggage rack has metal strips which support the inside and outside of the trunk lid. FYI, my lid never cracked. :-) p.s. Put masking tape on trunk lid to mark drill spots and check many times before drilling.
