  1. Hi Jay, Called my brother-in-law last evening. He hauls his Goldwing back and forth between NH and Florida every year. He always hauls bike in gear. He drives up tight to the front chock, hits the kill switch and ties bike down. Believe there should be enough synthetic oil film on parts to make a trip of a few hundred miles. Thanks!
  2. That's my dilemma! Seem to recall someone's logic that oil is not circulating in engine, so there is a chance for wear. Of course, wear may be ever so slight.
  3. Because trike will be strapped down well, will leave it in gear. Agree it's safer. Thanks!
  4. Will be towing our RSV trike a few hundred miles this week. Trailer says to put motorcycle in gear for hauling. Is this correct, or should trike be in neutral to take the engine and drive train out of the picture? Front tire is in a chock, rear tires are wedged and obviously trike is tied down. Movement will hopefully be at a minimum. Any insight is appreciated. Thanks!
  5. Thanks Puc! Your other pics are much better!
  6. Like most pics, but swastika is disgusting. Represents too much hatred and pain.
  7. Prayers sent for a speedy and complete recovery.
  8. Posted by Jay on Facebook. Dinner with a few friends. Freebirds MD opening meal at QSL.
  9. Enjoy! Retirement is a wonderful thing!
  10. Had a great time Mike! Thanks for your hospitality!
  11. Best to do this job yourself and measure carefully. My brother-in-law had dealer mount his rack on his Goldwing, and they had to put plugs to repair their first attempt.
  12. Understandable that a campground owner is prepared.
  13. Happy Birthday Puc and many more! Listen to your doctors. Wait until you reach my age.
  14. Tenting with the weather we've been having? Brrrr.....
  15. Congrats on your new ride! Good luck!
  16. Happy Anniversary Larry and Joyce!
  17. This is picture of trunk rack I installed.
  18. Because of trunk curved surface, used a heavy string to measure in all directions, including diagonally. Don't trust my eyes. Came out great!
  19. Wow! Glad you got it checked out.
  20. Happy Birthday Robin! Hope to see you folks this summer!
  21. If a huge blood clot develops at the site of the injury, there could be danger of a stroke or heart attack. Get to the hospital to see if you should be resting still on blood thinners.
  22. Yes, latest V-Max only in production since 2009. Yamaha would have to have a strong reason for stopping production. V-Max has 1,679 cc (102 cu in) liquid-cooled DOHC V-4 engine producing 174.3 hp (130.0 kW) @ 9,000 rpm. In comparison, Honda GL 1800 SE Gold Wing ABS 2004 has 1832 cc, water cooled, 6 - cylinders boxer, 4-stroke engine producing 118 hp (88 kW) @ 5500 rpm. V-Max engine would make powerful touring machine, but gas mileage would be poor.
  23. Hannigan conversion is now available with reverse and parking brake. FYI
  24. Saw a red one in parking lot at Marathon, FL.
  25. P.s. Dimes double-sided taped under covers keep plugs snug and stopped antifreeze leaks.
