  1. Wish Sleeperhawk and I could make it to your meet and eat - have a bite for us! Ride safe, Bobbie
  2. We wish we were closer to help out with nails and hammers but please let Rattlesnake know he is in our thoughts and prayers. Fires can take away our material possessions but never the love and support of "Our Family." Bobbie and George
  3. Sleeperhawk and I are so thankful that you guys are okay, as said before, you two cannot be replaced. If there is anything we can do, let us know. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Bobbie and George
  4. Thank you so much for the chrome polishing cloths, Honey! How did you know that was exactly what I NEEDED for Christmas? Is there something you are trying to tell me? Your mechanic!
  5. A Baby's Hug We were the only family with children in the restaurant. I sat Erik in a high chair and noticed everyone was quietly sitting and talking. Suddenly, Erik squealed with glee and said, "Hi." He pounded his fat baby hands on the high chair tray. His eyes were crinkled in laughter and his mouth was bared in a toothless grin, as he wriggled and giggled with merriment. I looked around and saw the source of his merriment. It was a man whose pants were baggy with a zipper at half-mast and his toes poked out of would-be shoes. His shirt was dirty and his hair was uncombed and unwashed. His whiskers were too short to be called a beard and his nose was so varicose it looked like a road map. We were too far from him to smell, but I was sure he smelled. His hands waved and flapped on loose wrists. "Hi there, baby. Hi there, big boy. I see ya, buster," the man said to Erik. My husband and I exchanged looks, "What do we do?" Erik continued to laugh and answer, "Hi" Everyone in the restaurant noticed and looked at us and then at the man. The old geezer was creating a nuisance with my beautiful baby. Our meal came and the man began shouting from across the room, "Do ya patty cake? Do you know peek-a-boo? Hey, look, he knows peek-a-boo." Nobody thought the old man was cute. He was obviously drunk. My husband and I were embarrassed. We ate in silence; all except for Erik, who was running through his repertoire for the admiring skid-row bum, who in turn, reciprocated with his cute comments. We finally got through the meal and headed for the door. My husband went to pay the check and told me to meet him in the parking lot The old man sat poised between me and the door. "Lord, just let me out of here before he speaks to me or Erik," I prayed. As I drew closer to the man, I turned my back trying to sidestep him and avoid any air he might be breathing. As I did, Erik leaned over my arm, reaching with both arms in a baby's' "pick-me-up" position. Before I could stop him, Erik had propelled himself from my arms to the man's. Suddenly a very old smelly man and a very young baby consummated their love and kinship. Erik in an act of total trust, love, and submission laid his tiny head upon the man's ragged shoulder. The man's eyes closed, and I saw tears hover beneath his lashes. His aged hands full of grime, pain, and hard labor, cradled my baby's bottom and stroked his back. No two beings have ever loved so deeply for so short a time. I stood awestruck. The old man rocked and cradled Erik in his arms and his eyes opened and set squarely on mine. He said in a firm commanding voice, "You take care of this baby." Somehow I managed, "I will," from a throat that contained a stone. He pried Erik from his chest, lovingly and longingly, as though he were in pain. I received my baby, and the man said, "God bless you, ma'am, you've given me my Christmas gift." I said nothing more than a muttered thanks. With Erik in my arms, I ran for the car. My husband was wondering why I was crying and holding Erik so tightly, and why I was saying, "My God, my God, forgive me." I had just witnessed Christ's love shown through the innocence of a tiny child who saw no sin, who made no judgment; a child who saw a soul, and a Mother who saw a suit of clothes. I was a Christian who was blind, holding a Child who was not. I felt it was God asking, "Are you willing to share your son for a moment?" when He shared His for all eternity.. The ragged old man, unwittingly, had reminded me, "To enter the Kingdom of God we must become as little children." Live Simply - Love Generously - Care Deeply - Speak Kindly - Leave the Rest to God Ride safe, Bobbie
  6. A remarkable phone call from a 12-yr old boy to Houston radio station KSBJ FM 89.3. So profound, the station has it posted on their website. Click below to listen to it. It's short. [ame= ] [/ame] Merry Christmas, everyone and Ride safe! Bobbie
  7. Just let us know when you will be here and you will have one waiting for ya!
  8. It will be fun to have a impromptu meet and eat at Jeff's in January! A really good time to be in Florida!
  9. So cute and so very appropriate for this group!!! Merry Christmas to the Riderduke family!!!!
  10. Promises, promises, promises!!!!
  11. Thank you, Kit, for getting us together for the ride yesterday. Both Sleeperhawk and I needed that, just a day out on the bike with our friends! Also, we appreciate you and Dave trusting us to take you guys to try out Jim n Nicks! I know you guys were not disappointed at all! Ride safe, Bobbie
  12. Hey, I will take what I can get!!!! You never know what kind of beauty you will find in a simple old dead log! (I was not referring to Sleeperhawk either!) Couldn't help that no one else could not make the ride with us on such a beautiful day! Ride safe, Bobbie
  13. After editing pictures, ended up with 111 for Sleeperhawk to upload, which he is starting on now! Great day for a ride with friends and icing on the day was Jim n Nicks BBQ and chocolate creme pie! Ummmmm Yummy! (which I didn't have to make!)
  14. Afraid they might keep ya?!!!!
  15. Never too tired to show up for a meet and eat!!!! We will be there, so there! Off to Alabama we go, even though it is 32 degrees:whistling: Have a great weekend!!!! Ride safe, Bobbie
  16. And, Riderduke could not resist tying Sleeperhawks' vest strings to the chair at Texas Roadhouse!
  17. That is not a pretty picture thought!- but then again, Muffinman's pink chaps go well with his hair color!:rotf:
  18. Thank you Jeff for the update. Our hearts and prayers go out to all of you. Only time can start the healing, in all ways. Bobbie and George
  19. And we werent' even going to tell on you, Todd!!!! You must have been hungry and unable to concentrate - just waiting to get to Texas Roadhouse for real food!
  20. Good morning to you too, Tim!!! I am sure that waking up with Renee is a lot better than waking up with Beer30 any day!!!! I have not posted any pictures yet, but I am saddened to tell you that Mini Muffin has already and yes, those pictures are there!!!!:rotf: Soooooo, I will show the other side of the picture when Sleeperhawk gets my pictures uploaded!!! We had the best time too this weekend!!! Love having all of ya'll here!!!!
  21. Great pictures, Margaret! A lot of look like the ones I took - we must have been standing side by side! Yes, the house is very quiet with everyone gone. At least I don't have to worry about the guys trying to steal the pies!!!! I took into work what was left and everyone thought I had baked just for them!!!! George is going to upload my 600 pictures - he was having difficulty doing that last night. Looking forward to our next get together too!!! Ride safe, Bobbie
  22. Hummm, we might just have to come see ya, Hipshot! :dancefool: But I still prefer my Coors Light to Shiner Bock. Did not know it was a dark beer until I poured it in a frosty mug. We had been drinking it out of the bottle. The Food Lion right down the road has it, and yes, I was surprised as well that we had here in South Carolina! Anyway, Sleeperhawk does not drink often - I think he drank more this weekend than he has since our last meet and eat at Beer30's!
  23. $5.25 plus some!!!!
  24. Hummm, my handsome male maid attendant who works exclusively for me discovered his tip of $5.25 in the small bedroom upstairs and his is extremely excited in that he will now be able to go and get some ShinerBock Beer! :dancefool: He works cheap!:whistling:
  25. What a wonderful time we had this weekend with our family! For those coming in Friday night, they ran into a lot of rain, but after a foggy start on Saturday morning, the day turned out to be beautiful!! We had a great turn-out - with a total of 24 people, 14 bikes and 2 vehicles! Those attending were: Sleeperhawk and me (Bobbie) – SC Dave38x (Dave) - SC Kit Carson (Kit and Sandy) – SC Bildar (Bill) - SC Riderduke (David) – VA Nkbjones (Nate) and Baxter – VA Muffinman (Jeff) – NC Mini-Muffin (Margaret) - NC Beer30 (Gene) and Beer 24/7 (Becky) – NC Tim261 (Tim) - NC dexl1200 – (Dave and Kathy) – FL Doug and Lolita Curry - FL 86er (Todd) – GA Gray Ghost (Cliff and Elizabeth)- GA Blackjack (Tery) - GA Tazmocycle (Don) - AL GRl-Str (Susan) - AL Hugabare did not make it and YamaGeezer had to work at the last minute so they did not make it - hopefully next time! Texas Roadhouse will never be the same again - it was a free for all with the peanut throwing and Sleeperhawk being tied up, I mean tied to his chair by Riderduke!!! We won't elaborate on that!!! After taking the long way to our home, everyone had dessert. MiniMuffin brought her famous pumpkin apple spice bread and sweet potato pie which added to what I had of 2 apple pies, 2 cherry pies, 1 blueberry pie, 1 pecan pie, banana cake, lemon bars, cream cheese bars, chocolate cupcakes, spice cupcakes, brownies, cookies, cat-eyes, along with dips, chips, cheese and meat trays, and pickle tray, there was enough for everyone! There was plenty of room in the bunkhouse, just a lot of snoring going on! Next time, bring in the ear plugs from the bike! Sunday morning, our builder catered breakfast for everyone here so all left with a full tummy. After all but Blackjack and 86er left, we all went for a ride to DQ and Blackjack and 86er went on home. It would not be a meet and eat without DQ! I ended up with 618 pictures and will upload those later! Once again, we enjoyed the Meet and Eat and look forward to seeing everyone again! Thanks to all who came! Ride safe, Bobbie
