  1. Anyone heard from KY. Rider? He is from my neck of the woods and have not seen him post lately.
  2. I had a short in my fuse box. Ign and headlight. The computer monitor was bad. Bought another dash on ebay . Swapped the monitor out and it works fine now.
  3. I just took out my original speakers today because they sounded like crap. http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d101/TJ41/moto_0762.jpg I bought a set from walmart for 23 bucks.http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d101/TJ41/moto_0761.jpg What a improvement. They sound a lot better. I am going to get a set of boat speakers off of ebay for about 30 bucks and mount them on the back. I got both of these ideas from off of this site. Thanks for sharing info!
  4. He was talking about a tree and I thought he put a full dresser:mytruck1: under the tree for someone... tree's will fit thru any door... that's what chain saws are for... LOL
  5. I just went through something similar. My last living relative other than my wife and kid had almost the same issue. It was my sister. 10 years younger than me. Was in the hospital with her 4th kid on the way. Went in for a simple test. Passed out and coded for 50 minutes. Did a emergency C section. Baby coded as well. Life lined my sister to Indy. I sat by her bed for 15 days. Doctors advised me to pull her feeding tube a week before I did. I pulled it on her 40th birthday. She left behind a 3 week old, a 3 year old, 5, & 8 year old. Had no living will or life insurance. I was left with all her final expenses. Been a rough bout. I feel for you as well.
  6. The only thing that does not work right is anything to do with the computer monitor or read outs. I do have a glitch every now and then. Turn the key and the volt meter will be low. At night the headlight will dim when the starter is en-gauged, but will not crank. During the day if the voltmeter is low I know it will not crank. If I turn the key off and on a couple times I will see the voltmeter jump up and I know it will crank. This only has happened a few times. It might be in the switch itself. Other than that only other issue is my original question.
  7. Yes I did. I have the CD service manual. Thanks for the suggestion tho.
  8. I have a 91 venture royale 1300. The computerized monitor, fuel gauge, and clock along with the computer leveling air suspension system is blank and does not work. I am wondering if this is a computer problem? I have traced the wires on the leveling system and they seem to be ok. The only thing that is displayed on that is the PSI sign itself. Nothing else will show. The actual pressure of the front and rear will not display. I can not set the pressure or check the pressure with the automatic adjust on the monitor. It is separate from the cluster on the dash and that is why I am wondering if it is a computer problem? I did buy a instrument cluster on ebay, just in case mine was bad. I did not really think it was, but I got the cluster for 26 bucks and was told everything worked on it. I figured it was a good investment as I have seen them go for 100-800 bucks on ebay. As cheap as I got it for I figured it was worth it as it might come in handy some time. I am leaning towards it being a computer problem tho. Everything to do with a computer read on this bike does not work. Fuel gauge, clock, suspension psi etc. I have not gotten the cluster out yet to trace wires, but have on the leveling system. Everything else works on this bike. All electrical, gauges, lights etc. Anyone have any input on what I need to look for on trouble shooting the computer? Thanks in advance for any input. I intend on tracing the wires on the dash and repairing and fixing any wire or connections as I do, but I am thinking this is a computer problem as it effects other things related to the computer that is not in the cluster. I have this half way tore down tracing wires and it has been a nightmare so far....
  9. I just put a stock filter on my 91 venture royale 1300. Ordered from yamaha on the net. $13.61 & $6.95 to ship. They have went to a plastic filter which is smaller than the metal one. I had to do some jerry rigging to keep it in the bracket. I also pulled the pump. Thanks, for the tip. If you stand on your head you can almost do it... LOL:rotf:
  10. The bike I just sold I got new in 03. The only thing I ever used on it was Nascar Fast Wax in a aerosol can. Stuff works great. You could see your reflection about 10 feet away from the bike. Works great on glass, chrome, paint etc. No oxidizing. I buy it from a wrecker company here that was a dealer of it. A friend of mine told me about it. They took me out in the junk yard and sprayed it on a old faded hood. Wipe on and wipe off. No buffing or elbow grease. Restored to a showroom finish. Just went back to get another can and they have a different brand now. Fukon Wax. Seems to work just as good as the other brand.
