  1. ENJOY!! Brianhttp://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t261/briantheriault01/Picture103.jpg
  2. A few years ago, the US attempted to go metric. Too much opposition and lobbying, I suppose. If we just go half-way, I guess everyone will be happy. I often work on equipment with some bolts SAE and the rest are Metric. Now my tool chest is twice as large! Brian
  3. Sure I have a slight whine from my RSV but in my mind, that only gives it character! Wanna hear a real whine?? Try driving a 13 spd Roadranger transmission all day long! Straight cut gears, bullet proof, whiny, clunky and noisy, and it will go a million miles without a major problem. I'm happy to know my RSV tranny is built with the same durability in mind. When is the last time you've heard of one with catastrophic damage?? Check out your HD service depts. All you see are trannys that came apart or engines that can't go for more than 50K miles without major rebuilds. Honda has their problems with GW frames cracking. Then, the loud whining you hear comes from their owners!! Brian
  4. YOU BETCHA!! My first experience was with a 1st generation Venture Royale and that one got me hooked! I now have an 03 RSV and even if Yamaha wouldn't change a thing, I'd still stay with them just for the value and the bulletproof drivetrain. The Mrs really loves the comfort over the rest of the competition. Something that is tattooed to the back of my brain:" If Momma's not happy, ain't nobody happy!" Brian
  5. I put RK pipes on my 03 and they were off an 02 Road King. All the larger HD's will use the same pipes. The cats started showing up around 03. Just look into the inlets and if there is a cat, you can easilly see it. It looks like a yellowish brick. The other pipe will have a metal cap inside that is part of the forward baffle. I drilled out my baffles with an 1-1/8" hole saw and what a nice deep mellow sound these V-4's make. Many guys use the cats without any problems as the backpressure is pretty much the same out of both as per HD. Brian http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t261/briantheriault01/SoapBoxBike033-1.jpg
  6. I bought two sets at the Americade this year and we really love them. At first, I made the mistake of installing the small windsock and we were getting way too much noise from the elements. Went to the large windsock and most of the noises disappeared. The mikes are super sensitive. Brian http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t261/briantheriault01/SoapBoxBike039.jpg?t=1186433824
  7. Sounds like a good deal. Last year at this time, I purchased my 03 with 5.5K miles on it for $12K and since that day I've never regretted my decision. I'd say if you can afford it, go for it. 5 years of warranty is worth alot more than you may think. If you do spring for it, bring it to your local Yammy dealer within a week to re-register for your factory warranty or you may be out of luck . I think it gives info on that in the owner's manual. 8. Here is what I did on my 03. Welded them to the saddlebag brackets and if I ever want to return to stock mufflers, no problem! Very sturdy and I was getting a slight up and down movement with the hockey sticks which caused the clamps to loosen up over time. BTW, last night I put the old 1 1/8" hole saw to just the rear baffles on my RK's and what a sweet difference! Not much louder but a nicer deeper rumble.
