  1. The Sportster doesn't run air in the shocks. I guess I should have been clearer, my Harley Sportster. I forgot some people name there bikes. I don't see how air would effect the Ricor's. The air is for setting the preload while the Ricor's control the damping.
  2. I have the Ricor Intiminator's in my Sportster and I love them. Over on the XL form they have nothing but positive things to say about the Ricor Intiminator's. A cople people have even tried the Race Tech Emulators and liked the Ricor Intiminator's better.
  3. ME! 06 1200 sportster.
  4. Like mine Heres what I got for a garage. Not much, but better than nothing The sportster was in the driveway when this was taken
  5. I pulled my plugs today and the right rear spark plug was much darker then the rest of them. I'm not sure I'de call it fouled, but defiantly on its way. So I guess I need to tear into the carbs and replace the jet block plugs and gaskets/o-rings. With some luck that will solve the problem.
  6. RK=Harley Road King
  7. Well I do have 3 chrome pieces that are not currently on the bike. Still not as bad as my Sportster. This is how I bought the bike. Still deciding on what accessories to keep and which ones to get rid of. Also deciding on weather or not to repaint her, although it will be a wile until I can afford to do that. So far all I have done is mechanical repairs. My next task is to rewire all the accessory lighting.
  8. They were on the bike when I got it.
  9. I've been here for a bit and finely got around to posting some pics of my '83 Roayle. She was a non runner when I got her in March. I got the important systems up and running, like the radio. Still more to do. This is my second Venture. The first one was an '83 standard which I sold about 6-7 years ago, still can't figure out why I sold her. Left faring Right faring Left saddle bag Right saddle bag Trunk Mud flap, With brake applied His eyes flash also Windsheld (not my style)
  10. At least they gave you credit, or at least thanks. They also have instructions for some of the acessories. Helpful for me since my 83 has all sorts of acessoires.
  11. Isn't that rebuild kit (the one pictured) for a V-max, or will it also work for a venture? It would be awesome if it worked for a venture.
  12. I'm having similar problems. Did any of you find out what was causing it for you?
  13. I'm thinking of delinking the brakes on my '83 Venture and I got questions. I know it would be best to replace the master cylinder to handle the extra volume of the second front caliper, but money is tight. Can it be done using the stock master cylinder. What would the disadvantages of using the stock master cylinder. I imagine I would need to apply more pressure on the lever, but I think can live with that. The main reason I want to delink is I have floorboards on the bike and to operate the brake peddle I need to pick my foot up off the floorboard and step on the peddle. I don't feel comfortable with this setup. I am also use to riding bikes without linked brakes. I am considering replacing the floorboards with OE pegs, but that is currently not in the budget.
  14. I finely got back around to working on this. I hooked up 2 batteries directly to the starter. One battery came with the bike and I was told it was new and the other I know is good, it's from my sportster. The starter still turns slow. I also turned over the engine by hand and all felt good, so i think I can rule out engine problems. I guess I get to remove the starter, Oh joy. Any tips on getting the starter out without much fuss?
  15. A couple of months ago I got an 83 Venture Royal project. When I first got it it would turn over slowly. I've had the battery out while I've been working on other things. Now when I try and start her everything dies when I hit the starter button and I need disconnect the battery to get it back. Is there anything I should check before I remove the starter? Is there a way I can do and initial check on the starter before I remove it from the bike? I know enough about electrical systems to be dangerous. I’m in school at Washtenaw
