  1. I replaced my coils with coil on plugs from a CBR 1000RR 06 07. You will need an aftermarket TCI to do this. Here's a thread on the conversion. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=84447&highlight=coil+plug
  2. I saw a 1st gen Venture on US 223 Between Adrian and Blissfield, Michigan. Belong to anyone here?
  3. I have Kenda Kruz on the rear of my 83 and I have been very happy with them. I also had them on my HD Sportster. http://www.kendatire.com/en/motorcycle/street/kruz/
  4. Are these going to still available in a month or two? I'm not quite ready right now Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk
  5. For those who use Tapatalk to view the forum on your Android devices the new version upgrade is on sale. "Tapatalk 4 - super launch sale!! $0.99. Was $4.99. Only one week. Upgrade Tapatalk 2 to Tapatalk 4 with HD tablet support for less than a dollar!"
  6. I do believe it was Porsche who assisted with development of the Vrod's Revolution engine with HD.
  7. The drawaback of DOT 5 is since it does not absorb water any moisture that gets into the system will settle in the lowest point (usually the capliper) and start rusting. If you change dot 3, 4 or 5.1 every year or 2 any moisture that it absorbs will not be an issue.
  8. All you need to do fo a tach on the sync gauge is to have the software count the vacume pulses on one of the cyclinders and caluclate the RPM. At least I think that would work. At the shop we have a digital vacume gauge that has an RPM option and it only connects to the vacume ports.
  9. Thanks for letting me/us the use of your code. I'm thinking of using this Arduino bord, as it has USB compatibility with Android. http://www.adafruit.com/products/563?gclid=CJzM0rqjhLgCFe3m7AoddFwABw I'm using this project as a learning setping stone for another project I have in mind. I want to make a replacement dashbord for my bike using an Android tablet as the display.
  10. The forks could also be low on fork oil. Probably would not hurt to go ahead and change the fork oil.
  11. I know this thread is a bit old. I came across someone who did a similar project using some of the same equipment http://www.instructables.com/id/Arduino-Throttle-Body-Syncronization-Shield I'm working on using a Arduino bord like the link above, but I want to use my Android tablet or phone do display 4 graphs. It's going to take me a bit to do this because I need to learn the programming.
  12. I think the 7/8" universal ISO grips will work. That's what I'm planing on getting for mine. For the antenna I have dual Firesticks, one for the radio and one for the CB.
  13. I need to add my thanks to freebird and all the others who help make the MD happen This was my first one and am looking forward to next years MD. Sent from my HTCEVOV4G using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  14. I'm one i of those people who love the old jeeps. A CJ7 is my dream car. Hope you make it home safe Sent from my HTCEVOV4G using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  15. Dingy Do you have plans or dimensions for the battery box you made. Or better yet, would it be possible for you to make another. I'd gladly pay. I'm a good mechanic but not much of a fabricator Sent from my HTCEVOV4G using Tapatalk 2
  16. There is a Goldwing Riders Association Indiana state rally in Lebanon In. This weekend. Sent from my HTCEVOV4G using Tapatalk 2
  17. I have a 450 clone that my brother-in-law crashed and gave me and a Gaui 425 with a FBL head. I have yet to fly either one, I still need to learn. I use to fly R/C airplanes and always wanted a heli. Now I have 2 and can't seam to find the time to finish either one and fly.
  18. At one time I saw some pictures where someone had relocated the battery to where the coils and TCI normally reside. I can not find them, if anyone knows where they were or if you are the one who did the relocation I would like some pics. I'm looking to move my battery to that location. Thanks
  19. I use to have a 06 Sportster, they are great bikes. I rode the $*%# out of mine, about 10,000 per year when I had it. A good number of those miles were 2 up with my oldest boy on the back. I had a Mustang Vintage Wide seat on my bike, I loved that seat. I also swapped out my handle bars so I sat in a more upright position.
  20. I'm a little over 20 miles to the west of you. I live just east of Adrian, MI. I can't help with housing but I can recommend a good bike shop, if your interested.
  21. I've seen skydoc's kit, but i'm on a budget for the bike and that kit would blow my budget. I also work at a motorcycle shop so I can get parts at 10% over deal cost. I'm figuring why buy 3 lines and 6 fittings when I can buy 2 lines and 4 fittings, plus the rear line.
  22. I've noticed that when delinking the front brakes most run a line from the master cylinder to a splitter than 2 lines, one to each caliper. Is there any reason I can't run a single line from the master cylinder to one caliper with a double banjo bolt and a line jumping the fender to the other brake caliper. This is how it is done on Glodwing trike conversions.
  23. R1 & R6 calipers will mount to 86 & newer forks. 83-85 ventures will need to have the forks swapped out for a set from an 86 or newer. There are 2 styles of calipers, side mount and radial mount, you want the side mount. I believe the proper calipers are either blue or gold dot. I just did this swap on my 83. I'm also upgrading to SS braided brake lines and de-linking the brakes. Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk 2
