I think they would be a great item to have on the bike. as far as plugs being temp fix this type which I have used on both cars and trucks are a permanent fix thanks to the mushroom head. On the same note I Use a type of plug that also has proven itself to be a permanent fix as it vulcanizes itself right to the rubber. https://products.techtirerepairs.com/tire-repair-materials/tubeless-tire-inserts/permacure/ The salesman I buy my fleet supplies from demoed them by jamming them in the side wall of his front tire. by the time the tire was worn out he had 250 plugs in it. this is the plug I carry on my vehicles They do recommend them as temp now for on road vehicles but I have used as many as three to plug one big hole and never had one fail. On the other hand if you still prefer a patch I would recommend you still plug the tire then buff the inside and add the patch. the plug will seal the hole so moisture etc cannot get at the tires belting material. I have seen many tires were patch alone was used but sine the hole itself was not plugged moisture got in and corroded or rotted the belt material.

The spacer has also been mounted on the wrong side of the caliper support. Check your rotor and see that it properly centered to the caliper.

What year is your bike @GrahamLFCkeeper ? For some reason the Avons have been known to cause the bike to wag like a dogs tail on many of the 1st gen Ventures. I myself, as well as others on the site have experienced this which seems to increase with speed sometimes coming on sudden like and as soon as the tires were removed and replaced with something else like Dunlops in my case the sensation went away. I too experiment with different tire pressures but with no luck, So went back to the dealer and he was kind enough to exchange them for the Dunlops. I am currently running Dunlop E3's front and back and the bike handles and rides like a dream.

Once worked on my car when I was a young apprentice on the midnight shift at liquid cargo lines. Someone yelled the boss was rolling into the yard. I jumped in the car not realizing the passenger door was not latched and hotfooted in reverse out the door. The unlatched Passenger door swung open on the way out and caught the door frame of the shop. The aftermath was not pretty.

This is true we have had several transport trucks come in on the hook due to lightning strikes. Fried every ECU and electronic device on the unit. Now no one got hurt but you have to keep in mind just because the lightning only damaged the trucks components, there is still the risk secondary injury or worse. What if this were to happen at just the wrong moment and the driver loses control of the truck? The secondary result could include other vehicles. Most drivers respond well to situations but that is no guarantee.

Considering you sit in it, wear a seat belt, it has a roll cage and you drive in it rather than ride it, I guess I would have to wonder what is the difference between it and a small convertible sports car. Many of which have full open cockpits with no roll bar at all.

Normally it is the Nylon Roof inn for me at Pond Monster Shores, but I may consider motel this year. So I may book the red roof if I do since that seems to be were the majority are going.

He was wiped out when we got home. about 7:00 he lay down and the only time he got up was to follow me to bed at 2:am and then slept again until almost 10:00

You are definitely lucky that's for sure . Like what was mentioned before I had the Avon venoms and I too had the Tail Wag issue fortunately the side walls were cracking very quickly after I got them and they were replaced so I went back to the dunlops I ended up running E3's front and rear and I am very pleased with them.

I almost wiped out on loose grave because of the linked brakes because no matter how gentle you are on the foot brake when you have loose sand or gravel specially on a hard surface that front wheel looks up and there goes your ability keep the bike stable. On that occasion two attempts to stop and a a pending wipe out were avoided simply because both time I released the brakes in the nick of time. With the delinked system I no longer have that problem.

Sorry to hear about your predicament Earl and hope full recovery is in your near future. The scary thing is we have all taken more than one tumble down a set of stairs or worse and got up unscathed. It just goes to show how lucky we often are that we did not like you, get injured worse than a few bruises. When I think back to some of the falls have taken I can only thank my lucky stars and the grace of God that I did not suffer more serious injuries than I did. So lets all be a little more careful out there and a little less impulsive (impulsive being my Achilles heal BTW). Hang in my friend and recover quickly.

Misled religious fanatic extremists, street gangs, poverty, broken homes and bleeding hearts (usually people who have never suffered an injustice) all help to contribute over the centuries with regards to crime. Now toss in blood and guts video games and overly explicit movies and things start going from bad to worse. Lets not forget those who by both legal and illegal means stand to profit due to war and crime. It all contributes. Oh and lets not forget some of the popular so called music that glorifies street violence which produces so many gangster type wanna be's of which some actually escalate beyond just being a wanna be. Last but not least population explosion also contributes as man both on an individual bases as well as a group bases tries to either just survive or even dominate. Stress also becomes an issue as electronic progress and population increases continues to create a world that becomes harder to survive in because life is no longer about simply acquiring and understanding the basics to live. The electronic world has made life very steessful and demanding.

I have had to change tires twice not because of wear due to high millage as both had lots of tread despite the high millage but because they got hard with age and became somewhat slippery in the bends on hard surfaces.

War is a horrible thing and if all was right with the world would never happen. My father fought through two wars. WWII with the underground and then later in Indonesia with the Marines Special forces. His only comment to me about it was that your shooting at someone who under different circumstances you might be sharing a beer with. But he also said unfortunately war does happen and when it does, sad as it may be you have to fight back. When someone asked why he fought, he simply said he never fought, he only fought back. So to those who served and fought back to preserve our rights freedoms and way of life we so cherish I give my thanks, while at the same time hope and pray that the day will come when the fighting stops and we can all live in peace.

Wow I hate seeing these kind of accidents. Its bad enough to always have to be aware that you can be victim to an accident at any given time while in motion. But to be stopped and suddenly get nailed from behind by a distracted driver is just another kind of worry, specially in this day and age when there is so much that can easily distract any driver at any given second and that is before even tossing in things like cellphone use etc.. Ontario has just tightened up distracted driving laws to the point of were you can even get charged with drinking a coffee, eating a sandwich or using CB radio ( n0w on the later I have always believed that using a CB radio while driving can actually be a safety feature since chatting with another driver while doing long distance driving can actually help one stay awake, but that's another discussion. . Initially you think to yourself this is getting a little ridicules. Then you read or see something like this and you begin to wonder if maybe it isn't. The trouble is you can create all the distracted driving laws you want but if people insist on ignoring already existing rules, both common sense and legislated ones, what really is the answer. Having said all that I am glad to hear that things did not end up worse bad as it is.

Whoa sorry I missed it Anne. Just have not been on site too frequently lately Lots of time consuming stuff going on and so Ive just been peeking in every now and then.
