  1. So does the 12mm adapter look like just sort of a nut with threads on the bottom to thread into cyl? My adapter is sort of like that but the tube is probably over 2.5" long and I dont think its going to work as an adapter for the colortune. Its made for my compression gauge which dont care how long of a adapter it has. Dang more money.
  2. I recently picked up a colortune for a decent price. Problem is the spark plug thing is a 14mm. Now I have seen some sort of adapter gizmo on e-bay from them but mentiones something about compression gauge also. So I got my compression gauge out and sure enough the colortune part threads in nicely. But it would put the electrode part2.5 inches above the cyl. I'm thinking this aint going to do me a bit of good huh?
  3. If its at the very top of glass there in could be the problem. Might be a tick too full and its finding the level it wants to run at. My 900 Vulcan was that way. If you got it to full it would push excess out. Usually thru the breather into air cleaner.
  4. I thought maybe it was because the parts are strewn everywhere.
  5. Was watching news and they mentioned it. Then a little later the wife was reading some stuff on her tablet pad thingy and said James Gandolfini of Soprans fame died of a masive heart attak.
  6. Eltra Glide with no trunk.
  7. Even with the cruise I love my throttle rocker. Gives you another position for your hand without a tight grip.
  8. As has been suggested tire pressures, wear patterns. What tires are you running? Miles on tires? E-3's are sort of noted for edge feathering when they get higher miles on them and will cause some unsteady feelings in corners if your not ready for them. Also look under the bike at the shock. Is there oil dripping out of the rubber cover? If you can put bike on a lift and just start to take load off and see if you get any movement out of the shock links.
  9. Dan I have seen on craigs list around here guys offer a map update on an SD card for $20-30. Dont remember exactly how much. I think Garmin get like $80 other than the lifetime. Would I just end up with an empty SD card? Maybe But I think I would go somewhat local with it and pick it up in person, bring GPS and plug card in. If no worky at least I'm face to face. looks like a one time update off e-bay is 16-25 depending on auction or buy now.
  10. I'd whatch for his listings here for awhile. If it shows up maybe can contact e-bay and tell them whats going on. Sounds bogus, I dont list anything unless its in my paws and I know where to find it.
  11. I think he is trying to toss a member a bone here.
  12. Yea the draw is back up but only on the signal side. Which is very momentary with the load equilizers. Did you use a replacement bulb or the high dollar panel things that go in the fixture? I had them in my rears but didnt care for the fast flash thing and the bulbs I put in the front didnt look as brite as the incandesents. There has been a couple write ups around about how to modify our flasher units so they will work with the LED and still retain the auto cancel feature.
  13. Go to this page. Then you put in type of GPS on top right drop box then look up bike. When I put in "my cart" it comes up as MicSplit-600-YamVent. I used a 600 series as my GPS. The pic is for the GW. Yamaha comes with the round 5 pin and goes under the fairing in the "red" cable bundle.
  14. Dont have to go to work until Thur. But I'll ride then. Howcome this date aint on the calendar like all these useless ones. Secratary day, nantional lepricon day and that junk invented to sell greeting cards.
  15. Its same listing/pic I think. I have been on that site a few times and you have to use a drop down box to get the right part number etc. The pic is of a GW harness.
  16. Messed around some today in garage. With all the hot weather we have ahd and I'm sure more on the way I have been thinking about a shorter shield. I used a piece of masking tape and figured about how tall I wanted it from the cut out. 13.5" was what I cam up with. Well I have an old windshield off a 900 Vulcan it was a memphis shades Phat. I left the tape on it and took windshield out. Layed flat on a towel and layed the donar windshield inside. Traced out the edges and cut it out with a dremel tool. Set it down in the windshiled slot sn marked holes and drilled. It wasnt quite wide enough so to keep from maybe craking the faring on the ends I cut out a couple of edge pieces to fill the gap. I took it for a spin and I think I'm getting more air flow for sure. but also I think more buffeting. Not sure I want that on a long trip like I have planned. I may put the OEM back in for the trip. But for a few weeks I'm going to try this one out. No cost so if I dont like it no biggie.
  17. When I lived in Ok if the trailer was under a certian height and weight it didnt even need a tag. I pulled a trailer for a few years on my bike out there. I traced out a pic of OK from the atlas and transfered to piec of scrap alum and cut out. that was my tag. LOL I'm sure its different now, being all those tax dollars they were missing.
  18. Milage? I was tought a trick alot of years ago when I went to work in a garage. Hold a dollar bill (or other light paper or rag) by the exhaust pipe. If it trys to suck it back inside you have a burnt valve. Some may say hog wash, but it has helped me figure out more than one bad valve. More than likely it is AIS related would be my guess. Block AIS and see if it goes away.
  19. I for some reason think alot of maintenece. I do most of my own to save $$. But still most of the time I hear the HD guys talk about "routine valve and head" work around 30-40K. WHAT???? In this day and age your kidding right. And to adjust the valves you got to take the head off and install after market adjustable push rods? Come on man really. Its bad enough we have to mess with the shim thing, there aint no reason a bike motor built in the last 20yr aint got hyd lifters. I keep hearing this "resale" spin all the time. Thing is I dont buy for resale, I buy for me. I have yet to buy anything I can remember and get my money out of it. Well except a very few things maybe, tools and maybe one car. Shoot even my house is worth lees than when I bought it. Its worth what the next guy is willing to pay and your willing to trade for green backs. Green spends all day everyday.
  20. Nice looking unit there.
  21. Yea thers an app for that. LOL Also GPS will tell you. But I'm guessing you didnt have one at the time.
  22. Mike I'm workin going my own sort of IB. Well wont quite qualify as an Ib because I'm going to stop and sleep and have to work inbetween a couple of the legs. but up to my buddys place in Charlotte 622mi. Next day will pick up 2 guys and we will go to Williamsport Pa. aprox 554mi. Next day up into Canada and over towards Toronto 460mi (short day huh). Then we have to work for 3 days. Leave Toronto area and head home, first night in Blufield WV 806mi then home will be 773mi. Geez I must be crazy. While not an IB I may file it with Long Distance Riders and add it to my totals.
