  1. check out Yamaha trike owners group om facebook. every so often one will come up for sale.
  2. you might want to start with the basics and check for air leaks. make sure the carbs are seated in the rubber intake manifolds, its easy to not get a proper seal when re installing the carbs. also all the lines to the ais system. if the exhaust pipes have pinholes in them that will cause popping. the back "y" pipes are made with a mild steel tubing and can rust out. the front tubes are stainless our something like that, don't know why they designed them that way. try running some seafoam with a couple of tanks of gas it does help clean the carbs.
  3. set up an account and search venture riders.
  4. lots of pictures on the VR facebook page.
  5. Back from the rally, Tom said it all. Looking forward to next year, already reserved the house for next year. looks like the dates will be July 15th thru the18th, not set in stone at this time. Hope to see everyone there next year. Stay safe.
  6. Geez Tom, can't believe you got through all that without bashing, I mean mentioning Rocking Robin. Your slipping big guy.
  7. Just a heads up to those you are traveling from out of state, Como just added a bunch of states that travelers from those states are required to quarantine in place for 14 days upon arrival. You may want to check on this before heading out.
  8. Actually JD makes a couple dozen products with gas engines. they have a large line of riding mowers, zero turns, and utv's.
  9. It is now law in NY. to wear a mask when ever you enter any establishment. I have to wear one at work, if I see a customer without a mask a will walk a way from them. NO MASK NO HELP. As of today we can tell them to leave if not wearing a mask.
  10. We had one case where I work and my son had 2 cases where he works, one of them died.
  11. I am almost positive one of the carbs has a plugged high speed jet, the fact that the sea foam showed some improvement indicates this. For those that don't believe in sea foams powers, I can tell you first hand while working at john deere dealer and seeing time after time just how well this stuff works. so the next time you take your mower or rider in for a carb clean and pay $85, they probably put some SF in a fresh tank of gas and let it run for a couple of hours. Our shop made a killing the first year the Gov made unleaded gas mandatory. .
  12. sounds like your not hitting on all 4 cyl. these bikes will run pretty good on 3 cyl. until you get up to high speed. another thing to check is you air filters, did a mouse make a home in one of them over the winter? this has happen to a few folks here in the past. check all the easy thing first. you said it is a new to you bike, how long has it been sitting before you got it? how many miles on it? has it been sitting all winter with un-treated gas in it? did you ride it with old gas in it?
  13. BongoBob stayed there a couple of times, said it was better then RF. Last couple of times he stayed at RF because most everyone else stayed there.
  14. Have both, definitely defferent.
  15. Would be great if you can make the rally next year, would love to see ol Jonseys trike again. It would also be great to meet some new members.
  16. what! Its steamer's international rules of putt putt or no tournament!!!
  17. Can't make it, working weekends for a while.
  18. Bob was always there ready to help with what ever the problem. If you had a problem with your bike he would jump in with both feet and stay on it till the problem was solved. He was always there with prayers for anyone in need, he tried to make every rally or meet and eat no matter where they were. He will alway be riding with us.
  19. Welcome to Venture Riders. Your going to love your new Venture, its getting great reviews. The only issue that it seems to come up is the heat problem all v twins seem to have. enjoy your new ride. maybe you can join us at the Western New York Rally in August and show off that new bike.
  20. We had a great time, it was good to see everyone again. Niagara Shores is a great place to get together hope we can do it again sometime. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the WNY Rally in August.
  21. this isn't going to be anything like the original WS. this one will be held a the Glen race track not a open farm field where anyone can just walk in for free. The security is going to be very high and the tickets pre sold. I don't believe you will be able to purchase tickets at the gate. The ticket price will probable be somewhere north of $200.00 for a one day pass and that will probably be the cheep seats in the bleachers where you get to watch the whole thing on the jumbotrons. Stage front will probably be $500 to a $1000. Its all about $$$ these days.
  22. back when all gas sold in the U.S. went to 10 percent ethanol I worked for a John Deere dealer. The next spring we got five times more gas movers in the shop then ever before with starting and running problems, the shop was over loaded with work. One of our older guys who had been around for ever took about a dozen lawn tractors out back and dosed them with sea Foam and fresh gas and let them run for several hours. it was quit a site, but at the end or the day they were all running and starting a hell of a lot better. The shop made a hell of a lot of money for very little work. The stuff works when used in running motors and I've seen it get non starting motors running again. Not every time, but most of the time.
