  1. Gut the tape player and use the empty box as in dash storage. You could remove the front speaker grills, construct a box on one side in place of the speaker and put a flap cover over it like the glove boxes on a HD lower fairing. On the other side use the speaker hole for a gauge pod. With the speakers and tape player removed you have 3 big holes to let water in the fairing, that's not good.
  2. That's the problem with online buys, sometimes things don't go as planned in the end I'm sure you'll be happy. I hope.
  3. I made that ride for 30 years working at Chrysler in Warren ! Believe me I've seen it all on that freeway.
  4. I was thinking more along the lines of an oddball town name, we have one here, Climax, Mi at the edge of town they have a sign with a Bull that has udders, must be a transgender bovine half way through the transformation eh?
  5. I'll be keeping my helmet on around here, just to much traffic and drivers that don't pay attention.
  6. You could always make it a place instead of a thing.
  7. I'm just gonna replace them with polished stainless and be done with it. Thanks for the idea though.
  8. No need to take the risers off.
  9. The first 4 are from my 01 with the factory top tree the next 3 are the Hannigan ez steer top tree.
  10. Is it effective at signing or is there a waiting period ? Don't forget about the extra insurance the law calls for.
  11. No need to worry about that, this is the never ending game !
  12. Let's see how this works. If it is accepted your next target is You, your bike and a statue with a horse and rider. Preferably a war memorial, but not necessary. it can be from any era. See sample pic Happy Hunting.
  13. You know us, we'll always chose the scenic route if time allows.
  14. 3# is the stock 2 wheel torque. Hannigan reccommends 38-45 pd/ft for a RSV.
  15. Using a drift you can only guess at how much torque is being applied. Take the time to do it right.
  16. If I only knew that that $12 was gonna be the down payment on the thousands of dollars this place has cost me I'd have joined sooner
  17. PGR honor missions are one of the best things I ever became involved in. Your presence there WILL make a difference and you'll never know the comfort it brings to a grieving family, to see that there are people who do care about the sacrifice they and their loved one have made. It's the right thing to do.
  18. Do your best to convince her to take the MSF and buy a bike that matches her abilities. Today we went to the funeral of a 22 year old Man from the neighborhood, 2nd year rider, hit broadside at an intersection. Not his fault but you have to wonder if more experience would have made a difference.
  19. Your not bringing that goose with you to the Quality Inn are you ? Let me know now so I can make other arrangements!
  20. Almost the same. The ez steer top tree is a little deeper than the stock one, it needs to be lifted just about off the tubes before you can get the wrench on it.
  21. Yes it is. http://www.jpcycles.com/product/217-259
  22. You have to raise the top tree almost off to get the wrench on the lower ring. use a torque wrench. Dingy sells the neck wrench on the member vendor section. When you use it keep it at a 90* angle to the torque wrench to get a true reading. You'll need to remove the fairing to get to the top tree. Just follow the instructions in the tech section. RSV/ Hannigan should be 38-44 pd/ft
  23. That's great news Karl, M&E's wouldn't have been the same without you. Now get on that bike and find us a sign
  24. Hey neighbor! I also have an 01 RSV. We'll be heading down to Freebirds MD in June, you are more than welcome to join us for the ride down. There will be many RSV doctors in attendance to look at the patient and offer suggestions and maybe a helping hand.
