1. +1 I agreee cables are the most likely culprit. Mike
2. If you turn your IC volume up to 20 and blow into the mic it will blast both headsets at the same time. Turn the volume down to reduce the noise. Mike
3. On the venture the IC is not voice activated. It is always on. Just set the IC volume to a comfortable level. Once set the controler does not need to be in the IC position. It is always on. The mic will pick up and amplify engine and wind noise. A common problem causing intermittent operation is a faulty cable between the headset and bike. Mike
4. Sounds like you are on the right track. But don't overlook ignition problems. Mike
5. I intentionally use the kill switch most of the time. BUT_ I sometimes bump it off by accident. SO_ I am planning to grind a little bit off the end of the end of the red switch knob. Should still be usable but hopefully not bumpable. Mike
6. Good RPM is 950 to1000 If you do not have a tachometer just adjust rpm to where it does not slam going into first gear from neutral. Mike
7. We are very sorry to hear this Steve. You will be in our thoughts and prayers. Mike
8. Hate to disagree. I am old school as well. But I understand the advantages of fuel injection. It is far more reliable than carburetion and much less likely to cause problems. So long as they use a somewhat universal set of components I am all for FI. Mike
9. Radio turned up loud. Mike
10. The AIS system has two vacuum operated control valves. One for each side of the exhaust. If one of these valves looses vacuum or becomes damaged it could cause this problem. It is usually an easy fix. Many people disconnect or bypass this system altogether. But it does not use any power to operate so disconnecting it serves no real purpose unless modifications have been made to your engine. Mike
11. This uses only one wire that wraps around any spark plug wire. Mike
12. Stator or regulator is bad. Or there is a very high load on the electrical system (unlikely) requiring higher rpm to overcome. Mike
13. I have the same under trunk as Freebird. It works well for a tail and stop light addition. I also have the 100 led tail light from Custom Dynamics. That is a really super addition and very easy to install. Then I have the lighted Yamaha trunk spoiler. It adds a little extra light higher up in the rear. Mike
14. The diagram you have is fine. The lights will only work when the key is on. The only suggestion I would make is you move your auxiliary light switch to terminal 86 and connect 85 directly to ground. I just prefer that when I turn a switch off it interrupts power to the circuit. Mike
15. After 20 years implants might be problematic. Prices around here vary from $475 to several thousand per implant so it pays to shop. I am in the process of having two done right now. Mike
16. If something were rubbing you would be able to feel it in neutral or when coasting. It sounds to me like the bike is leaning out under very slight throttle or perhaps lugging slightly. Any chance for one of these being the culprit? Mike
17. As an active member of 'dunderheads not very anonymous' I must say I like the grill. You will be able to tell if air flow is a problem by the fan cycling. It should come on for a while then cycle off. If it stays on then Mike
18. Hi Big Lou Welcome to the forum. Mike
19. Welcome to Ventureland. Mike
20. IC volume is set to ? Mike
21. Hi George I was out and about today as well when it came over. I captured a couple of pictures. Enjoy Mike
