  1. To answer your question about dual banjo and up and over line, yes it will work but IMHO it will look like crap... I am assuming you are not planning on using the anti dives?? My main concern is the up and over line getting fouled in the front forks.
  2. Take the Blue Ridge Parkway down there and you will be ready to ride the dragon! 318 curves in 11 miles. You will be done with it to include sightseeing, pictures and souvenirs in a few hours...
  3. #1 NOT the same engine as VMax!! Similar but not the same!! #2 Asking too much for a non running bike!! #3 the only aftermarket I see is the driver floorboards. Everything else he lists is standard equipment on the Royale *edit* I see aftermarket front fender guard and chrome front fender tip... #4 I'm thinking the '85 he wants to throw in is of little use to you. #5 he needs spell check... Frankly I'd pass on it!! Cut the price in half AND throw in the '85 and you would have a reasonable deal...
  4. I like a LOT of things you did with it!!! Great job!!
  5. Trike is sleeping next door still but I'm pretty sure Larry is right. If you are using a different coil pack then yes make all gone with it. There is also a relay device that clips onto the coil pack frame but you're a smart fellow, I'm sure you can come up with an alternative...
  6. Yeah Mike, like you have never given expecting nothing in return yourself!! Great story though, and you are right, it's just what this family is all about!!
  7. Gary, I'm not 100% sure. You may be right but I';m not sure. He is putting an '83 dash on an '83. You can't use an '83 on '84 and up but I'm not sure about any differences between an '83 Royale and an '83 standard...
  8. It is , after all, called gas away for a reason...
  9. http://ebcbrakes.com/what-is-sintering/ As mentioned the RSV has harder rotors so it can handle more abrasive and radical materials for stopping power. You may want to go to a better material for better stopping power, not necessarily for better longevity. As mentioned replacing the pads is quick and easy, just remove the saddlebag, the plastic top cover on the caliper, pull the 2 pins and replace the pads. There is no need to remove the caliper, just pry the caliper apart before pulling your old pads. A shot of aerosol brake cleaner is in order before installing the new pads whichever ones you choose. Also, for some strange reason one pad will wear faster than the other. It is a good idea to swap them from one side to the other at around 5K to 10K to get them to last a little longer...
  10. Uhhhh, no, Yammer had a really good Easter dinner and he had a gas attack...
  11. Excellent! You get the McGuiver of the week award!!!
  12. Outstanding!!!
  13. Hopefully all the snow will be gone then...
  14. Phil, lots of things to sight see!!Of course the racetrack, but Letchworth State Park, the Finger Lakes with wineries, Corning glass works, etc etc etc!! Do indeed stop in! I'm sure Steamer and Rockin Robin would love to show you around as well!!
  15. Identity or Insanity?!!?
  16. Soooo tell us how you really feel David...
  17. Yup!! Becky is not the camping type!!!
  18. Well, yeah, I do try to make it easy on dim witted people to have their chance at a snappy comeback...
  19. OK seeing as you hot wired the fuel pump to a direct 12 volt line it could very well be the fuel pump. You can try disassembling and cleaning the points on the fuel pump but usually once they fail, they fail! I would not trust the stock analog dashboard voltmeter as being accurate, especially considering it's age. Buy yourself a cheap $5 - $10 digital VOM and be done with it. Monitor the battery voltage directly across the battery with the DVM...;
  20. Uhhh, in certain neighborhoods paperboys get mugged...
  21. Vacuum pump, mityvac or any suitable brand, and speed bleeders!!!
  22. I think it was only on the later style MK2 forks that had the small springs on the bottom...
  23. ***sigh*** Haven't seen the milkman since the neighbor's wife got pregnant back in the 60's...
  24. Hehehehehehehehehehehehe!!!!
  25. Installed my own. For 1st gen bought one on Fleabay and bolted it up. On 2nd gen bought one from Diamond R, a hide a hitch, and 4 bolts later it was installed. On trike I let Hannigan do it only because I felt lazy...
