The early models came with a push button switch but it was NOT pre-installed on the bike. It came with the passing lamps and could have been installed anywhere or not installed at all. A lot of people, me included, did install them in the fairing right beside the 12 volt outlet but that is not a given. It just depends on who installed them.

I think that TriStar was company founded by Rick Butler and a man named Dave Henderson. If that is the one, then no, they shut it down several years ago. -
I intended to use a decibel meter to check the noise level before and after but got anxious to get started and forgot. I do think that it's a little louder though. It almost has to be with that solid chunk of convertor removed. Unfortunately, it has rained for the past two days and I haven't gotten the chance to ride it yet. As for losing 70 lbs., I doubt it. Everything is the same except that the new header was cut open and the convertor removed and then welded back together. I don't know what the convertor weighed but I doubt it was more than a couple of pounds. Of course I know you are probably talk about the stuff that I removed to get it down. It is all back on now smarty pants.

We all face hard times at some point in our life. At this time, Brown Angel and Lori and facing some tough obstacles. They have not asked for help but I know that they need it. They are making a big move today. Headed to either North or South Carolina, don't remember which but I know they have been trying to sell all that they can to make the move. Angel has a job there and they are on the way. They have no physical address yet but if you wish to and are able to help and can use PayPal, I know it will be much appreciated. You can PayPal to Lori at briante64@gmail.com Every little bit adds up. Thanks, Don

Finally got around to changing the headers on my Road Glide. The later model Harley's put the convertor in the pipe, not the mufflers. It is located right in front of the passengers footrests and creates a LOT of heat. Changed the headers and it runs so much cooler. Tests that I've read says that it lowers the running temp about 20 degrees but I think the heat right on the right side by the passengers feet was much more than that. First picture shows the new head installed and the old one sitting on the garage floor. Second picture shows heat shields re-installed and ready to go.

Ace High Leathers is nothing short of fantastic. Nanci is GREAT to work with and offers very high quality items.

No, unfortunately not. Only the blue, silver and blacks can be lowered.

Finally got around to making my hotel reservations for the International. Have you? It's closer than you think and we really need to start talking it up. It is going to be a beautiful area and a fantastic time for all. Don't miss out on this opportunity to meet other members and take some great rides.

WOW...mine was almost it's twin. Maybe the vehicle I would most like to have back.
-
Hey, that works for me. Now we have to talk Eileen into it. NOT likely.

Those in the Ebay listing posted are for the Softail. I don't think they would work on the RSV. You need their touring mufflers.
-
I don't have pictures of most of them at that time but these are the same cars and colors of them.

Most of my cars were pretty tame compared to some of yours. Here they are in order though from when I first got my license at 16. There have been MANY more since these. 1959 Chevy Bel Air 235 6 cylinder with 3 speed on the column. 1969 VW Beetle with semi-auto transmission and factory air. 1966 Pontiac Lemans with 326 and automatic. 1973 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454. First new car and I bought it when I graduated from high school. After that, there have been many many many cars. Everything from 1969 Camaros to early 70's Dodge Challengers to Triumph Spitfires and a lot of trucks and SUVs.

This is what REALLY ticked me off with Progressive. From the HD website, I got a quote. It came to under $300.00, I don't remember the exact amount. Then I did it again and it asked who my current insurance was with. Well apparently Progressive is the company that HD uses and when I entered progressive as my current insurance, it told me that they could not give me a quote because I was already insured with Progressive and I had to go to them to get a new quote. That came to over $500.00. So if you are a 14 year customer with them with no claims, they charge you over $200.00 per year more than a new customer. Something just isn't right with that. Now it worked for me the other way also. I've had my house insurance with State Farm for about 15 years. It has gone up every year even though I've had no claims at all. This year it went up again to over $1200.00 per year. I shopped and ended up buying a policy from Progressive with lower deductibles and the same coverage for $660.00 a year. Now I'll just wait for it to start steadily increasing and them change again. What a racket.

It's all very strange. I had my house with State Farm for 13 years. I've had no claims but it went up every year. Two weeks ago I moved it to another company. Same covered at almost half the price. I just called Progressive. They got the motorcycle down from $515.00 per year to $385.00 per year for the same coverage. I told them to cancel it and just got a new policy from Geico with higher limits for $260.00 per year. Could have got it for as little as $180 for full coverage but I raised some of the limits.

My motorcycle insurance comes due the 28th of May. I've had it with Progressive for more than 14 years and never filed a claim. I have full coverage on the Road Glide and I still have liability on the RSV that I sold to Yammer. My premium for both bikes is just over $400.00 per year. If I drop the RSV, I lose the multi bike discount and my premium goes up by 97.00 just over $500.00 per year. I also have my autos and home with Progressive. Now I just got a quote from Geico on the Harley alone and even though I increased some of the coverage, it comes to $234.00 per year. I am not really surprised. It just seems that a person has to change insurance companies from time to time to keep the prices down. I will call Progressive today and see if they want to take another look at it but otherwise, looks like I will be making a change.

I'm sorry but I don't agree at all. I've seen a LOT of these bike that the insurance company decided to total after a relatively minor accident. The frames are not damaged, forks are fine, it's just that Yamaha wants so darn much for the plastic parts that the repair costs are high. If a person is willing to find the parts on Ebay or wherever and do the work themselves then they can be repaired fairly cheaply and there is absolutely no way they should be tagged with a salvage title. Nobody is being cheated if they buy a bike that has had saddlebags, fairing and etc. replaced.

Very nice and we are very happy for you. I know you've had it on your mind for at least a couple of years.

Beautiful bike. A local friend just bought one that is similar but in a gray color. He loves it.
-
He is absolutely amazing but it is also amazing that so many people around can completely ignore it.

I just bit on two different pins with no problem.
