I have no problem with their filter I don't guess except that I am not driving to a dealer to get a filter that is certainly no better than most and not as good as some others. As for Yamalube, I can only speak from my own experience. I HATE it. I could care less what they recommend when I know that my bike runs quieter and shifts smoother with other oils. My preference is Mobil 4T Racing full synthetic. There is absolutely no doubt that my bike runs quieter and shifts much smoother and does so until I reach oil change time. The Yamalube broke down in as little as 1500 - 2000 miles when riding in hot weather. Very evident by the say it shifted and difficulty in finding neutral Just my opinion.

Absolutely report it. If it was serious enough to cause her to do such a thing, then there is a problem that must be dealt with. Your daughter needs you so don't even think about taking it in your own hands.

I moved this thread to the correct forum. -
I thought about it once a good while back. I went on the Indian forums and did a lot of reading. My main complaint with the Harley was the heat and from what I read, the Indian is at least as bad. That was enough to end any thoughts I had about owning one. It was the same issue as the Harley. Eileen knew I loved the Road Glide and tried very hard to not mention it but the fact is, the felt like her right foot was actually being blistered sometimes. I did everything that people recommended. Removed the cat, free flowing exhaust, tuner to richen it up a bit. Nothing worked. I talked to my dealer about the new ones with the water cooled exhaust port area and they were very honest with me. They told me that the partial water cooling enabled them to get a bit more performance without increasing the heat but that if I was thinking of trading because of the heat, I was not going to be happy. They admitted that it runs as hot as mine did. Another thing that I read about on the Indian forum was that people who had problems were waiting extended periods of times because dealers did not have parts. I'm sure that will be resolved and maybe already had but I read of people waiting weeks for repairs due to it. Also quite a few comments about those brown seats not holding up very well and they are expensive to replace. I had already decided to go with the black seats if I bought one. In the end, it just made no sense to even consider it. People complain about the price of the Harley but with the same basic accessories I had already added to the Road Glide, the Indian came in about $10,000.00 higher. No thank you.

You didn't mention replacing the springs or spring. That is most likely the issue. The springs get weak over time. Worn disks can cause it also but you said you replaced them already. You need to replace the springs and then make sure that you don't use any type of "energy conserving" automotive oil. You say that you use Yamalube though so that shouldn't be an issue. -
I changed my oil yesterday. It was too expensive at $16.99 I think but I ended up just going with a K&N. Worked fine.

Have a safe trip. Would ride along but I can leave until Thursday afternoon. Will see you there.

Wife is out of town so I thought I would buy myself a "new" Bike

Pretty cool little bikes. I preferred the 4 stroke Cub but for $100.00, I would have been all over it too. -
Well the links to the profile worked but caused another issue so I had to change it back. It will still show the city and state of the new member but no link to the profile. For whatever reason, it would work about 50% of the time but when it didn't work, it didn't send out the confirmation email for new members at all so they were unable to get registered. I'm not sure why unless there are some email providers that simply block meals with links in the title. I don't think it's that important anyway because now that you can see the city and state where they are from, I think that's the important thing. After looking at the profiles of a couple where it did work, I'm finding that they have usually not added any other information to the profile anyway.

I tell you, for that price it is sure worth the try. Please report back.

I will add the same thing for correctional officers. That is a job that I would certainly not want and thank those of you who do it. I can't image what you must go through on a daily basis.

It is absolutely appropriate and thank you for what you do. I will be glad to give you the award once you become a supporting member. Membership has its Perks. If you decide to become a supporting member, just click on "Awards" in the upper menu bar and send me a request. Either way, again, thank you for your service.

No problem. I did get a notification but no PM so I hope that is what everybody wanted. The notification did have a clickable link though.
-
Not sure. When somebody mentions me again, I'll look into it. I did go to my profile and under "mentions" it does have clickable links. I don't have any under notifications right now so will have to wait until I do again.

Turned off this feature.

At the request of Yamagrl, I added the state of the new member to the New Member Welcome Threads. So now it will give you the city and the state. She felt that if people saw a new member from their own state that they might be more inclined to extend their welcome to the group. After I did that though, it prodded me to take another look at something else that you have asked for in the past. That is linking the new members name to their profile. So I finally managed to figure that out also. I Just did it and then tested it by created a new fake user and it did work as it should. I have deleted it now though so you may not see any examples of it until another new user joins up.

OK...I agree also. Done.
-
Oh yea...there may have been a few changes to the PM system also. Forgot to mention that. One thing is that you can now send an attachment in a PM.
-
OK...I fully expect to get some complaints about this but I don't know of another way to compromise and please everybody. A good while back, I turned off the option of letting you choose how you want the posts within a thread to be displayed. There are three options available. Linear, Threaded, Hybrid. It seems that the most popular way is "Linear" and that is how it has been set for some time now. Some people really hate it though and prefer the threaded or hybrid displays. If you don't know what I'm talking about, you can go to "settings" at the very upper right and then to "general settings" and look at "thread display mode". I had it set so that you could NOT change it from linear and though most seem ok with that, some prefer the other ways. Therefore, I have turned it back on so that you have a choice. I remember turning it off because it caused some issues but I can't remember what it was. I THINK though that it was due to the "quick reply" feature. The way to solve that problem is to require a "click" to reply to a thread so that is how I have set it now. That means that you won't see a reply box at the end of a thread until you click on the "reply to thread" button. Here is the technical explanation of why that is necessary. If you enable Quick Reply, a box will appear on the showthread.php page allowing users to reply to the current thread without needing to load the full newreply.php page. When Quick Reply is enabled, you may specify whether or not users must click the Quick Reply icon in order to start typing in the Quick Reply editor. If you choose not to require a click, the system will not know to which post a user is replying, making both the threaded and hybrid display modes nonsensical. We strongly recommend that you set the option to require a click if you use Quick Reply and have Threaded Mode available on your forums.

It is working now. You can send an attachment. There is an issue where if you use the old inline image link, it will show TWO of the images that you send. If you click on the paperclip almost right above that old link, it will send only one as it should. I will figure that out later but not tonight.

I haven't looked at them but will do so. It will have to be a pretty good deal though since I can get 40% off a GoPro. The GoPro Silver is waterproof. At least they say 30 minutes at 5 ft. which will be fine for me.
-
Modification is not working properly. Back to the drawing board.
-
I still think I like it better on the camera. I also KNOW that 4K is going to result in huge file sizes. I'm pretty sure I will go with the Silver. I've got a chance to buy one at 40% off and I haven't seen any deals that good on them anywhere. It's one time thing though.
-
OK folks. I just did some customizing that SHOULD allow you to attach a picture in a private message. You click on the insert image icon in the editor box just like you do here. We'll see how it works. I've made this a "Supporting Member" perk.

I'm thinking about buying a GoPro camera. I THINK I want the Silver Hero 4 because it has the built in display. The Black is $100.00 more but does not have the built in display. The black will record 4k though whereas the silver only does 1080P. I don't think I care about the 4k and would rather have the built in display. So....am I wrong?
