I like it but does it also reflect the police officers? As for the thought that some may not want it, that's fine. It will NOT be issued without the person requesting it.

OK....this is pretty cool. I know it's not a motorcycle but I tell you....this is pretty cool. http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2016/07/28/polaris-pops-t-top-on-slingshot-three-wheeler/

After I sold the boat back in the spring, I knew that I many as well sell the 3/4 ton Avalanche that I bought last fall. I had procrastinated though because even though I didn't need it at all since selling the boat, I really liked it and had a hard time finding it when I was searching for one. Yesterday I finally decided that I needed to get rid of it. It was sitting out by the green house and I probably hadn't put a thousand miles on it since I bought it. So I pulled it around to the driveway, gave it a half decent wash job, vacuumed it out, took some pictures and put it on Craigslist. Got a call first thing this morning with a guy wanting to come look at it. He and his wife showed up, took it for a drive, and bought it. Now I saw a discussion here earlier about what people put in their Craigslist ads. Other than the description, I added: Spammers, don't waste your time. I will not ship it. I will not accept your wired bank funds or your phony cashiers checks. I've heard all the scams and you are wasting your time. Show up at my house and be prepared to pay cash if you are interested in buying it. I also added. Yes, I know that the KBB and NADA say that the value is less than I am asking. I know that I am MUCH higher than what they say. I would recommend that if you find a 3/4 ton Avalanche with these miles and in this condition for what they say they are worth that you buy it immediately and don't waste time trying to negotiate me down to that price. I've have it priced for what it is worth to me. Well I tell you, there was very little negotiating today. He made me an offer that was close to what I was asking. I turned it down and came back with an offer that was VERY close to what I was asking. He bought it. I just deleted the Craigslist ad and it said that it was posted 23 hours ago. About as quick as I've ever sold anything I guess. I didn't need it but will miss it. Just made no sense to hang onto it though.

OK...but I don't want to turn this into a political fight. Just want to honor those that are out there watching out for us. So lets keep the suggestions coming.

I would like to add a new award to honor our members who are active or retired members of law enforcement. There are just too many different divisions for me to try and select icons for police, sheriff, FBI, state, etc. So I want to come up with just ONE icon that will be generic for all law enforcement personnel. I was thinking about this one but if you have better suggestions, I'm open to discussion.

I had the same experience as Gary. While on a trip to Colorado one year on the '99, we had a couple days of very hard rain. The display started acting strange and then it finally stopped working. Once the sun came out and it was hot for a couple of days, everything starting working as it should again.

Probably not the issue but there are two fuses that affect the radio. One under the left side cover, the other inside the right lower.

brake disk chrome covers
Freebird replied to 2WHEELSFORME's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I really like the looks of that wheel on our bike and I've found a few on the market but none that I've found come with the rotors or those covers. Add the price of the rotors and covers and they get expensive real fast. Still keeping my eyes open for a fair deal. -
To all that believe in prayer
Freebird replied to mm482's topic in Inspirational, Motivational, Prayer Requests, Etc.
In our prayers too my friend. Pray that it is completely successful and side affects are very minimal. Keep us posted please. -
and I keep telling that I just CAN'T PAINT CHROME. That's blasphemous I tell you.

LOL....I don't even remember when I got it. It's been at least a couple of months though. Yea, I've about decided to just leave the Harley mirrors on it and let the jokes begin.

WOW....really sorry to hear about the accident but thankful that you are both recovering. We'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers. If there is to be another bike, you will know it when the time is right.

Headlight lamp replacement.....

Always check the "Read Only" Tech Library for such articles. Here's the one on splitting the fairing. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?494-Splitting-the-Fairing -
The decal did indeed say sportster. I just assumed that he had added the decal because he mounted it on a Sportster, shows what I know.

I don't know. I was trying to remember what brand it looked like. I knew it wasn't Windjammer. Thanks for reminding me. It was driving me nuts.

To answer the question after all this time, no, it can not be turned off. It is either enabled for all or for none. Sorry, that's just the way it works. I understand that some don't like it but I think that the majority find it useful.

LOL....didn't even see that. Pretty well centered huh?

There is something that I have been thinking about for a while but haven't done anything and I should have long ago. I am always saddened when I look at our memorial page. We have lost some great members here. Such is life and though I personally feel that they are in a better place now, we still miss them. Sometimes they leave behind spouses that were also a valuable part of our group. We should never forget about them either. What I want to do is offer free lifetime memberships to the spouses of any of our deceased members. They can set up their own usernames if they don't already have one or if they get some kind of comfort in using the username of their deceased spouse, that is fine also. What I'm asking from you is that if you know any of these ladies, please contact them and let them know that they always have a membership here. Just have them send me a message if they want to use the old username or create an account and then send me a message letting me know who they are just in case I miss one. I feel that this is the very least that I can do to honor those members who have left us too soon.

Saw this in a Walmart parking lot today. Thought it looked pretty cool. It is a Harley Sportster with a Liberty Sidecar. Looks like a fun little ride.

I see that the Magnum Plus mirrors are available with flat or convex glass. Which do you have? I assume that the convex gives somewhat of a blind spot advantage but haven't seen any in person to confirm.

I don't think I've seen one on the market. You could just cut the back part off. You are new here so please don't take offense but this area is for POLLS...I'm going to move this to the Second Gen Tech Talk area for you.
