  1. I would be willing to give it a shot but first would want to know how much interest there is. That is the first thing they will ask me.
  2. Good job. I didn't like the looks of the speakers on the back either but I bet it sounded good.
  3. OK...my guess. Dan said that he did NOT get a trike. He did NOT say that he did not get a trike kit. I"m guessing Voyager kit.
  4. So....you going to prod me into guessing?
  5. Great that you had the box and were able to send them a picture. It will be interesting to see how they respond now. If they do at all.
  6. I'll bet I can guess what you bought. I won't say it though.
  7. If you end up needing to remove the clutch basket, I have the needed tool and like in Oberlin, OH. If you want to pick it up sometime or I can mail it to you. I'm out of town until Friday though.
  8. LOL...now that sounds like a pretty good plan. Some of that 3M Velcro is pretty darn good.
  9. Sonic Springs get my vote too. Had them in the '99 and felt that they were better than the Progressives that I've had before.
  10. It is some sound deadening material like is used is some large speakers or something I guess. It was there when I bought the bike. Don't know if it helps anything or not. We always use earbuds. I assume it was installed in an effort to get better sound from those little speakers. It also has J&M Speakers in it. When I rode the bike home after purchasing it, I didn't have my headset with me so used the speakers on the way home. I didn't feel that there was any major improvements over stock.
  11. You are right about that. I guess it's just human nature. I just seem to dislike it more than I once did. Eileen told me to just wait and do it when I was in the mood but I knew that wasn't going to be anytime soon so I just got on it and got it done.
  12. Well @venturesome , I fight real hard to obey my own rules here about no political discussion but the few of you that follow me on Facebook know that I have PLENTY to say when it comes to politics. There's not much on the blog because I just started it and not even sure that I'll maintain it but I'll give you the link. I want to warn anybody though, I lean a bit to the right. If you want to comment on anything I write there then you will need to register and post your comments there. I will remind people that there will be NO political discussion at VentureRider.org All that being said, the link is http://www.dnelson.com
  13. You might check these posts in the Read Only Tech Library. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?86-Known-Problems-and-things-to-look-for
  14. Well I'm grumpy but I ended up going ahead and installing the MicMutes. Here is all you have to do to install it. It's all back together now and tested good. So that's done.
  15. I bought a MicMutes from another member here and it arrived this week. So now all I have to do is install it. I tell you, I've about reached the point where I don't like taking bikes apart. I loved the MicMutes on the '99 and certainly want it on the '05 but thinking about splitting the fairing, removing the seat and gas tank, routing the wires, etc. does not sound like a fun way to spend a couple of hours. I may bite the bullet and get it done today but I'm sure not looking forward to it. I can remember a time when none of this bothered me at all. I wouldn't even think twice about jumping on a project like this. It's not even that big a deal, just a pain in the butt.
  16. The tires on my old John Deere that I use mostly for the snowblower had cracked tires when I bought it several years ago. The owner had already put tubes in them or maybe they came with tubes, I don't know. I used it that way for probably 6 or 7 years before they finally cracked on the tread and the tube was actually starting to stick out of one of the cracks. Actually used it for an entire winter with the tube sticking out that way before finally replacing the front tires last year.
  17. Well...I guess you can think of it kind of like a private Facebook page. It's just not Facebook. It's a place where I can spew my mindless thoughts and people can comment as they do on Facebook. The thing is, you don't need a Facebook account to read it or reply and you don't have to worry about Facebook removing something that they don't like. That being said...as already stated...it is just my mindless thoughts that most people will have very little interest in.
  18. I don't know what ya'll are talking about. I would NEVER post anything political on my Facebook page. That being said, I also just started my own Blog. I don't really know why. I think it's more of a way to vent than anything else. I haven't even posted a link to it from anywhere and may not. Not much there yet anyway and very basic. So far, just a couple of repeats from my uh....non-political...Facebook posts. May not even keep it up. Was just bored the other night and threw it together.
  19. Fantastic. Glad you got it worked out.
  20. Dang Jack....trying to cover for you.
  21. Yes, but I can also se what Jack may be saying. If the squelch is set too LOW....it may be putting the CB in receive mode all the time and not allowing the radio to play. Not sure that is what he meant but thinking it may be.
  22. I hear people say this pretty often and I would agree EXCEPT....if you ride with a group, you lose your ability to communicate with your riding buddies. I don't like constant chatter but it's nice to fine a quiet CB Channel and be able to exchange information with those riding with you as you need to.
  23. Well, I am but mine is the Firstick FM antenna. From what I've read though, even the CB version should work fine. I think you have a wiring issue somewhere. Did you run a cable all the way to the front or cut and splice? I cut and spliced when I did mine but it still worked fine. I'm thinking if you did it that way though, maybe you didn't get the connector right.
  24. I moved this to the second gen tech talk forum for you.
  25. I agree that those are stock.
