Well @venturesome , I fight real hard to obey my own rules here about no political discussion but the few of you that follow me on Facebook know that I have PLENTY to say when it comes to politics. There's not much on the blog because I just started it and not even sure that I'll maintain it but I'll give you the link. I want to warn anybody though, I lean a bit to the right. Well I'm grumpy but I ended up going ahead and installing the MicMutes. Here is all you have to do to install it. It's all back together now and tested good. So that's done.

I bought a MicMutes from another member here and it arrived this week. So now all I have to do is install it. I tell you, I've about reached the point where I don't like taking bikes apart. I loved the MicMutes on the '99 and certainly want it on the '05 but thinking about splitting the fairing, removing the seat and gas tank, routing the wires, etc. does not sound like a fun way to spend a couple of hours. I may bite the bullet and get it done today but I'm sure not looking forward to it. I can remember a time when none of this bothered me at all. I wouldn't even think twice about jumping on a project like this. It's not even that big a deal, just a pain in the butt.

The tires on my old John Deere that I use mostly for the snowblower had cracked tires when I bought it several years ago. The owner had already put tubes in them or maybe they came with tubes, I don't know. I used it that way for probably 6 or 7 years before they finally cracked on the tread and the tube was actually starting to stick out of one of the cracks. Actually used it for an entire winter with the tube sticking out that way before finally replacing the front tires last year.

Well...I guess you can think of it kind of like a private Facebook page. It's just not Facebook. It's a place where I can spew my mindless thoughts and people can comment as they do on Facebook. The thing is, you don't need a Facebook account to read it or reply and you don't have to worry about Facebook removing something that they don't like. That being said...as already stated...it is just my mindless thoughts that most people will have very little interest in.

I don't know what ya'll are talking about. I would NEVER post anything political on my Facebook page. That being said, I also just started my own Blog. I don't really know why. I think it's more of a way to vent than anything else. I haven't even posted a link to it from anywhere and may not. Not much there yet anyway and very basic. So far, just a couple of repeats from my uh....non-political...Facebook posts. May not even keep it up. Was just bored the other night and threw it together.

Yes, but I can also se what Jack may be saying. If the squelch is set too LOW....it may be putting the CB in receive mode all the time and not allowing the radio to play. Not sure that is what he meant but thinking it may be.

I hear people say this pretty often and I would agree EXCEPT....if you ride with a group, you lose your ability to communicate with your riding buddies. I don't like constant chatter but it's nice to fine a quiet CB Channel and be able to exchange information with those riding with you as you need to.

Well, I am but mine is the Firstick FM antenna. From what I've read though, even the CB version should work fine. I think you have a wiring issue somewhere. Did you run a cable all the way to the front or cut and splice? I cut and spliced when I did mine but it still worked fine. I'm thinking if you did it that way though, maybe you didn't get the connector right.

OK....fair enough. I still don't know what resistor you are talking about being soldered to the accessory fuse holder. I've not seen that before and wonder what you actually did. If you do it like the instructions in the link that I posted, it will work. Since your method is not working, I worry about what you have done and what damage it might do.

It is typically pretty easy to tell if the leveling links have been installed. Just get down and look at them. The tock links are dog boned shape and a black or dark gray color. Most of the leveling links are not dog boned shape and typically either stainless or painted black. Usually just straight pieces of steel and possibly rounded on the edges but not dog boned shape.

No problem. Being as it is Korean, the quality is likely better than the Chinese scoots. There was a small independent shop right down the road from me who bought a container of Chinese 4 wheelers. He kept marking them down until he finally got rid of all of them but said never again. Quality was so bad that every single one of them came back and he couldn't get parts to repair them. He lost a good bit of money. Even things as simple as the gas lines. He said that they looked fine but as soon as you actually put gas in them, the gas lines would gum up and melt. I'm guessing that they were not designed for the Ethanol that we have in our gas.

I agree with Bob. This is the first that I've ever heard of a diode being use. I don't see any possible way that would work. Here is a tech article on doing the resistor mod. OK....I will recant a bit. I suppose I CAN see how a Diode would work if you had it in the right direction so that it blocks the circuit but I don't know if it would create other problems or not. Not a stupid question at all. Headsets are not a big deal at all. There are several brands available on the market. Prices for the lower ends start around $65.00 or so and go over $200.00. These prices are each and you need two of course. More important is that the cables are there to plug them into. If not, they are available also.

I've heard of them but don't know a lot about them except it's Chinese if I'm not mistaken. I understand that parts can be hard to get. I'm assuming you are asking about the bike because classifieds are not allowed in the watering hole. Since it's not your bike though and you didn't provide any contact information, I assume that this is about the bike and not trying to help her sell it.
