  1. Fantastic. Glad you got it worked out.
  2. Dang Jack....trying to cover for you.
  3. Yes, but I can also se what Jack may be saying. If the squelch is set too LOW....it may be putting the CB in receive mode all the time and not allowing the radio to play. Not sure that is what he meant but thinking it may be.
  4. I hear people say this pretty often and I would agree EXCEPT....if you ride with a group, you lose your ability to communicate with your riding buddies. I don't like constant chatter but it's nice to fine a quiet CB Channel and be able to exchange information with those riding with you as you need to.
  5. Well, I am but mine is the Firstick FM antenna. From what I've read though, even the CB version should work fine. I think you have a wiring issue somewhere. Did you run a cable all the way to the front or cut and splice? I cut and spliced when I did mine but it still worked fine. I'm thinking if you did it that way though, maybe you didn't get the connector right.
  6. I moved this to the second gen tech talk forum for you.
  7. I agree that those are stock.
  8. You are way ahead of me Dan. At this point, if I HAD to fight....and it lasted more than a minute or two...I would just say FINE YOU WIN...and go home.
  9. OK....fair enough. I still don't know what resistor you are talking about being soldered to the accessory fuse holder. I've not seen that before and wonder what you actually did. If you do it like the instructions in the link that I posted, it will work. Since your method is not working, I worry about what you have done and what damage it might do.
  10. It is typically pretty easy to tell if the leveling links have been installed. Just get down and look at them. The tock links are dog boned shape and a black or dark gray color. Most of the leveling links are not dog boned shape and typically either stainless or painted black. Usually just straight pieces of steel and possibly rounded on the edges but not dog boned shape.
  11. No problem. Being as it is Korean, the quality is likely better than the Chinese scoots. There was a small independent shop right down the road from me who bought a container of Chinese 4 wheelers. He kept marking them down until he finally got rid of all of them but said never again. Quality was so bad that every single one of them came back and he couldn't get parts to repair them. He lost a good bit of money. Even things as simple as the gas lines. He said that they looked fine but as soon as you actually put gas in them, the gas lines would gum up and melt. I'm guessing that they were not designed for the Ethanol that we have in our gas.
  12. I agree with Bob. This is the first that I've ever heard of a diode being use. I don't see any possible way that would work. Here is a tech article on doing the resistor mod. OK....I will recant a bit. I suppose I CAN see how a Diode would work if you had it in the right direction so that it blocks the circuit but I don't know if it would create other problems or not. The resistor is the correct fix. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?489-Battery-Warning-Bypass
  13. Good memory. I had forgotten all about that. I remember it to and I think it was Wingman's wife.
  14. Not a stupid question at all. Headsets are not a big deal at all. There are several brands available on the market. Prices for the lower ends start around $65.00 or so and go over $200.00. These prices are each and you need two of course. More important is that the cables are there to plug them into. If not, they are available also.
  15. I've heard of them but don't know a lot about them except it's Chinese if I'm not mistaken. I understand that parts can be hard to get. I'm assuming you are asking about the bike because classifieds are not allowed in the watering hole. Since it's not your bike though and you didn't provide any contact information, I assume that this is about the bike and not trying to help her sell it.
  16. Thread pinned.
  17. A new award has been added. In honor of all our members who are first responders. Police, Fire, Paramedics. Maybe there are others. Just let me know if you feel that I am leaving anybody out. Now I set this one so that people cannot request it on behalf of another member. There may be those that do not wish to be identified for one reason or another so it is entirely up to you to request it if you would like to be recognized and honored. To request this award, just click on "rewards" in the menu bar at the top of the page. Then scroll down until you see the "First Responder" award. To the right of the image you will see "request award". Whether you request it or would rather remain anonymous, thank you so much for your service.
  18. OK...the new award has been added. I did use the image a couple of posts up that most seemed to favor. I resized it and made it a transparent gif file but it didn't turn out all that well. It will do until I or one of you can make it look better. It is uploaded and ready to go though. Now I set this one so that people cannot request it on behalf of another member. 19. Resizing it is not an issue. If that is the one that the majority like, I do too, then I will get it added this evening.
  20. Are you wanting to lower the front, back or both? Here are some basic instructions on lowering the front: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?939-Lowering-the-Front-End Now here are some instructions for RAISING the rear. Lowering would be pretty much the same process except you would need longer links instead of shorter. You will also need a caliper relocating kit. The only one that I know of is made by Baron's. It comes with the links and the relocation bracket for the caliper. Installation would be the same as this thread. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?492-Leveling-Links-Raising-the-Rear-of-the-RSV
  21. I should also add that there is no need to get extremely detailed. Look at the size of the icons in our posts. They are very small. If you click and go to the users profiles they are linked to some that are bigger but still not huge.
  22. I guess it depends on what you want to use it for but you can create a YouTube account for free and uploading the videos is very easy.
  23. Sure...use whatever you want. I always use something similar and it does seem to weed out a lot of the spammers. Plus the people who want to lowball me and tell me what it's worth.
