Never mind. Carry on how you please. I was willing to consider that perhaps Jamsie was just having a bad day or something but then I looked at his profile and saw that he had changed most of his profile fields to simply say insulting things about Americans in general. He apparently has issues with us so I hope that I made him happier when I banned him from the site. I try to be as tolerant as I can but there are certain things that I have little patience for. I'm sorry if he was a close friend to any of you.

What forums are added will be decided by the majority of the members. Any member can block any forum that they wish in their settings. If you block a forum, it will be like it never existed for you. It will certainly not be decided by insults and profanity. I have deleted one post here. I sincerely hope I won't be pushed to do more.

Will see what I can do but it will be sometime when I get back from vacation.

Now that's an interesting option. I've been lucky so far and have never had to replace a fuel pump but that is something that I would look into. Found this link: http://advrider.com/index.php?threads/dr-beans-950-fuel-pump-kits.823347/

I don't even know where I am. When I made the hotel reservation, I'm sure that it said Lake Quachita but I just looked and apparently we on on Lake Hamilton. They appear to be connected but with a dam in the way. We'll stay here and probably just run around on Lake Hamilton while my son and granddaughters are hear this weekend but will trailer up to Quachita during the week. Really want to explore that lake.
-
We'll be here until a week from tomorrow. This weekend is full though because my son will be here with the granddaughters. They are leaving on Monday. I've been to Hot Springs before and love it. Being from Texas, it was a short trip before we moved to Ohio. We just got checked into our hotel room. My son is supposed to be here around noon tomorrow and we'll put the Waverunners in and do some exploring. Never been on the lake here before. Here's a picture from our hotel room balcony.

If I remember how to spell it...Ouachita

Good information. Thanks. Fortunately, we are in no way associated with VerticalScope.

Of course.

You know....I didn't look close enough to see but it would be pretty cool if that was an expandable type ladder and was designed so that you could slide it in and out depending upon how much room you need. And....that ladder day saints comment actually WAS a bit funny.

And mysteriously returned they have.

Eileen and I are finally getting away as of sometime this morning for over a week of relaxation and fun. Not a motorcycle trip this time though. We are towing the Waverunners down to Arkansas. Have a hotel room reserved right on the lake with their own boat docks. My son from Texas is meeting us there for two or three of those days so we will get to spend some quality time with the granddaughters. Really looking forward to it. Will probably get back home a week from Sunday. Now don't worry. I will have my laptop with me so that I can keep a watch on you trouble makers.

Cruise slow to engage:
Freebird replied to Rob Swallows's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
OK, I read it. No problem. I will just say that I think you are over reacting. Rest assured that there was never anything in any of this that even came close to you being banned, banished, whatever. I think most here have enjoyed your input and following your projects. I just hope that you get more comfortable with the banter that goes on here. There will always be some good natured jabbing and/or non-technical comments made to many topics. It's just the nature of the beast. I don't think that anybody means any disrespect by it. Hope you can reach the point to where if it bothers you, you can just move past it and continue with the discussion at hand. You will be much happier if you can. Now I hope we can just move right along. Hope the lubrication solved your cruise issue. Please let us know one way or the other. -
I love everything about that bike. I really want that wheel and those handlebars.

Sounds like you did very good. You will love having the pocket on the tank bib. Sounds like the Hopnel brand. They are good products. The air pump is an absolute necessity for these bikes. -
I think that this might be an interesting topic. I will start but I know that some of you have probably done better. I was joined on the ride to the New York rally by member @Motiv If you ride the interstates, that would be about a 4 hour ride for us. We made the decision to pretty much stay off the interstates though. Going up we road them east for a while before heading north through Pennsylvania and manage to turn the 4 hour ride into a 6 hour ride. No big deal. Coming home though, we made the decision to stay off of the Interstates completely. We left New York at 8:00 in the morning. We had our GPSs set to avoid highways but many times we even ignored the directions that they gave us. We just sort of headed south and west out of New York again riding mostly south through Pennsylvania. We made two or three short stops for a bit to eat but most of the time we were riding. We managed to stretch what could have been a 4 hour ride home into an almost 12 hour ride. I pulled into my driveway about 7:45 that evening. So how far or long have YOU stretched a ride? I know that somebody will have us beat.

Cruise slow to engage:
Freebird replied to Rob Swallows's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have stayed out of this discussion so far because I really have nothing to offer than hasn't already been suggested at this point. Now V7Goose is a wealth of knowledge. I think the world of him and he knows that. That does NOT mean that he and I actually agree on every single thing and that is something that I think we both accept. I am actually happy enough with the cruise control on this bike. I've had two 99's and now the '05 and they have all worked pretty much the same way. Now Goose says that he finds the combination of button pushes that people use to be comical. Maybe they are but I can tell you for a fact that it works for me and has on all three of the RSVs that I've owned. I get to the speed that I wish to be at, I push the rocker switch down once and then immediately push it up (accel) once and it sets exactly at the speed I want. If I just push it down then it will lose a little speed and I have to tap it back up to the speed that I wanted. Comical or not, it works that way every time and is very simple to set that way. This method may seem comical but it is quick and easy and after a couple of times, becomes second nature. If Goose was here I would let him see for himself because it is provable and repeatable every single time. Now it may be working exactly as he stated. The drop in speed may not be more than a couple miles per hour, I don't really know. I just know that by using the button combination method, there is no drop in speed at all and that is what I like. Now I suspect that this could be corrected or at least improved by adjusting the cable free play at the actuator but it is so simple to do it with the combination button push that I have just never bothered. Maybe when I get some time and the desire to take a look, I will see if it has too much free play but I'm in no hurry to mess with it. It is also very possible that the cable is set properly but that it just takes a couple of seconds to build the necessary vacuum. Maybe if I held the throttle exactly where it is then it would eventually build the vacuum and stay right there. Probably family quickly but the double toggle method works almost instantaneously and like I said, is now second nature and gives me the result that I want. The bike maintains a pretty decent steady speed when set. The exception is when you get in the mountains or some long hills and running in 5th gear. We all know that 5th is an overdrive and the bike just doesn't always have the torque needed in 5th gear in some situations to maintain the set speed. If it drops off too far, the cruise will disengage. Dropping down to 4th gear in those cases will greatly improve the cruise control performance. In my opinion, this has nothing to do with the design of the cruise control but simply the nature of the engine and gearing trying to propel this heavy bike in an overdrive gear. I had a VMax rear in my '99 and it performed much better under these conditions. Now from what you are saying, none of these things work for you so you apparently have an issue with your unit. Goose gave you some good tips on what might be causing it and I hope that you find the problem. A lot of people gave you honest feedback here on their experiences and how they have compensated for them. I was really a bit shocked that you chose to slam so many members that simply tried to offer their information in an effort to help. -
Yes, Linda and her son were there. They seemed to have a nice time and it was great to have them there. Jones Jr is their son and he posted a few posts up.

Well...he might say that but I won't tolerate being called names.

I understand but still won't do it. If I got that email, I would go to Ebay as I normally would and login from there. Here is a PayPal story for you. Years ago we had a member here who did our caps, shirts, etc. He worked for a company and offered a fair price and they did a good job. Part of the deal was that once he had sold a certain dollar amount, he would send us ...i don't remember...a dollar or two for each item sold. I got a phone call from him one day asking me if I had taken all the money out of his PayPal account. Of course I told him that there was no way that I could have because it was HIS account and I had none of the login info. He proceeded to tell me that he went to the account and all the money was gone. He later told me that he had received an email asking him to click on a link to verify that all his information was correct. He did so and of course somebody stole all the money in the account. Many people have lost money in scams just like that. As stated above, you can hover over the link to see where it really leads but even they can be very deceptive at times. I recently got a link ate claimed to be from Microsoft. When I hovered over the link it was something like support.microsoft To a lot of people that would sound very legit but the fact is, it was in no way tied to Microsoft. A day or two later I got an email from my companies IT Department congratulating me on not clicking on that link. They actually sent it to all employees as part of some security test to determine what kind of training we all needed. Glad I didn't click it.

There were two pictures from what I could tell. I have put them back.

This goes for ANY credit card or account information. Very few legit companies will ever ask you to click a link in an email. They will tell you to go to the website and login as usual.

I too was wondering about all the aftermarket tuners out there as well as exhausts. I never went with the Harley stuff on my Road Glide. I had a Dyno Power Vision and V&H mufflers. A quick read of the Harley forums will show that most go with aftermarket units. Many also offer these tuners and etc. for other brands. Indian, Victory, etc. I even have Dyna3000 ignition module on my RSV.
