  1. The only comment made here that makes any sense at all is the one about the Hot Tub. Now THAT sounds like a good plan. Just need to turn up the heat a bit, make some fresh coffee, add a little Bailey's Irish Cream and we'll be good to go. Come to think of it....that comment about it being warmer when she is closer is pretty good too.
  2. I'm in Kentucky this week. Headed home later today I guess. I just looked at the weather though it shows 8 degrees in Oberlin and snow. It's a balmy 12 degrees here in Kentucky and not snowing. hmmmmm...... Guess I'll go home though....home is where my lady is. That makes it all better.
  3. This is a pretty good video that shows the importance of weight distribution.
  4. I sleep pretty good most of the time. Last night ... not so great.
  5. I don't think so Jonas. I think it is Bordeaux. VERY dark red. I went to the one on Ebay and if you really zoom in, I THINK I can see that it is the Boardeaux.
  6. Very nice. I like them all but that too is a great color. Hope it gives you many miles of smiles.
  7. Some states in the US have legalized it for medical and also some for pure recreational use. Ohio has legalized it for medical but you can't buy the kind that you smoke. Only oils and etc. with no THC to make you high. BUT....at this time...courts have ruled that companies still have the right to their own no-drug policies so even if it is legal, it can cost you your job if it is against your companies policies. The company that I work for has strict no drug policies. We are subject to random drug tests. Also, if you have any type of accident in a company vehicle, you are required to get a drug test immediately, regardless of fault. I was hit by a semi in my company car a year or so ago. I was not hurt but had to immediately go get a drug test. Had I tested positive, I would have lost my job.
  8. That one would be my choice. Love those full length stocks.
  9. As many of you know, our old friend Black Owl has been in the VA Hospital for a while now. It seems that he takes two steps forward and then a step back. I understand that he is just not doing well at all and I ask that you continue to keep him in your prayers. Russell was one of our very first members when I started this club years ago. I love and respect him as many of you do.
  10. I have just learned that we have a long time member who is fighting a hard battle against the dreaded disease of cancer. It's a word that none of us like to hear and always brings great sadness. I heard about this through a third party and understand that he wishes to keep it private. God will know who we are praying for though so I just ask that you do so if so inclined. He has already had some radical surgery and is now on 10 weeks of chemo.
  11. Update. I just increased the number of stored private messages for trial members to 100. Supporting members get 200.
  12. I don't see any problem in the settings. You may need to be more specific before I can help. For example, which forum are you trying to post to? Some forums are "read only" even for supporting members. For the most part, that is the "Technical Library" areas. They are read only so that information is easier to find and doesn't get lost in a lot of discussion. You will see some of them that people appear to have posted to but that is because some of those topics were copied from the Tech Talk forums with the replies. As for private messages, you should be able to send them but you are limited as to how many you can have stored. Trial members can only store 25 messages. That number also included your "sent" messages so you may need to delete messages that you have already sent as well as received replies. The limit is much higher for supporting members. There is also the possibility that some people have "private messages" turned off. There are a handful of folks that just don't like getting private messages and have it turned off. That is not likely the case if it is somebody that you have sent them to before though.
  13. I try to keep this sort of thing to a minimum here but our old friend could use some help. Even a couple of bucks would be a appreciated if you feel so inclined. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?125725-with-a-one-time-ok-from-the-boss&p=992312#post992312
  14. Our prayers are with you and Gunner. I hope that you get the financial help that you need also. I'll do what I can and hope that others can also.
  15. At $525.00, it would be a bargain for somebody with a first gen that needs a second gear.
  16. Yes, it was the Rokon though. Similar. Pawn Stars actually bought it and had it restored by them. The Rokon is still made. https://www.rokon.com
  17. Sure sounds like the cylinder plugs under the fins. At least the small spot. If so, very easy and cheap fix. You will have to pull the cylinder cover before you can tell. Look through the posts in the following thread and you will see some good pictures of what I'm talking about. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?82619-coolant-leak
  18. Me too. Not sure where I would take it for that ultimate ride but I still want one.
  19. Done. I found the old files and re-attached them to the first post.
  20. Wish that was the case here. Not much, even on Ebay.
  21. LOL...that's more of an answer than I have found. I wondered if the F stood for Four Cylinders but I found a Yamaha FL snowmobile and it is three cylinders so that idea is out the window. Maybe Full Luxury?
  22. Looks like Mazda may be bringing back the rotary. For a different use though. Apparently, they are thinking of using a small version to run a generator to recharge the batteries of a hybrid. http://www.foxnews.com/auto/2016/11/23/mazda-rotary-engine-returning-in-2019.html
  23. I had never seen this one either. It is "Yamaha" so I'm sure was available at one point or another. I've always liked the Wool/Leather style jackets. Have a couple already but one is Harley. Probably put it on Ebay at some point.
  24. Stumbled upon this on Ebay last week. Star apparel is getting very difficult to find. It was listed as "Used and Excellent". It doesn't look like it was ever worn. It was my size so I put in a low bid and was really surprised to win it.
  25. Somebody may be able to tell you what the "F" stands for but I'm not sure. I can only tell you that the 13 TFL is the standard model and the only one offered in '99 except for the TFLC which designates California model. They later came out with the TFLS which stands for "Special". It was different in that it had more chrome. Front forks, brake reservoirs, etc. are chrome. Actually, the "Midnight" model came out before the Special. It too had the extra chrome but also all the Midnights were black. There were no Midnights or Specials in '99.
