  1. Well if it's her birthday, then it's only right that we wish her happy birthday. So the best to you Miss Annie, and may you be blessed in the year ahead. Hopefully I will be able to wish you Happy Birthday again next year as you get older and older.
  2. Wow Jeff, YOU should retire, I changed that phone # a long time ago. But they were right about me not being there much, they're doing such a good job, it's best I stay out of the way and keep playing. Now if somebody were to call the presently listed number, they would get me and most likely I'd be busy,,, but never too busy for helping a VentureRider. If you call and the phone is busy, try again in a couple of minutes and if it's still busy I'm busy listening to Saddlebum. And oh ya, sorry to have missed your call,, it would have been nice,,,,, was Mini home???
  3. Thanks everybody for looking,,,, Muffinman has the goods and it's already on the way. Thanks Jeff, you made my day and I think for that you now deserve to have a ride on the back of my scooter!!
  4. We're with you buddy. Best for all of you in the days ahead. We will pray that light will show through any darkness.
  5. HEY,,, the Boss cleans up pretty good, better send one of those pictures to Eileen. As for the food it looks delicious, wonder why us Canucks weren't invited,,, we can eat tooo you know,, and then maybe the whole bunch wouldn't have looked so somber,,, man you'd think smiles were out of season. Glad you all took him out, lets' hope it's not a precedent.
  6. I have a right one that might work for you, it's got a bit of road rash as you can see in the pictures. The rest is is nice shape.
  7. The boss is working on it, give him some time and we'll be happy,,, we usually are:happy65:
  8. Thanks, I've got one of those already, but an 86 is different.
  9. I'm in need of the left side crash bars front and rear, for an 86. Anybody got some thing decent laying around. Kind of wore the ones a bit on the 86 last Friday when the 'wheels came off'.
  10. http://www.fluid-film.com/ Best stuff going, doesn't seem to get hard and flows into where it does most good. I'm doen with WD40 and Deep Creep, still have them for a few things, but mostly I use FF for what ever ails me.
  11. How many times can we enter this contest, or are disqualifired after post #2?
  12. When you have it back together, coat it with Fluid Film, should solve some of your future problems.
  13. Good for you Angel, maybe we'll see more of each other.
  14. Yep, sounds like steering head bearings. Could be as Evan says, or also could be that somebody adjusted them too tight, but I tend to go with Evan's thoughts. Personally I would take the time to remove the bearings and put new ones in, I know it's not the brakes, but it too important to mickey mouse with. Get yourself a new set of bearings, your local bearing dealer will be able to help you, drop the whole front end and do it right. It's the only time you'll have to do this job. It's not complicated, but will take some time.
  15. Some good thoughts. Now as I recall, in the turn and under light throttle, the rear wheel felt like it was going to the right, then the bike straightened up, felt like it was on ice and then slid out from under me coming down on it's left side. I was in a left turn, not too sharp, lots of room, good clean coarser pavement, no oil or residue of any kind. Can this be developed further?
  16. Yep, that's what I thought, so how did I manage to go down the road with the kickstand down???
  17. Already done, the fund must be needing money. That's what got me wondering, if the kickstand was down, the bike shouldn't start or run, but how could it be down when I turned the corner, cause it was down!
  18. No sand, none, I got to check up real close like, just clean smooth pavement, (when you look from the seat, but not so smooth when you're sliding on it). Oh by the way, no scratch, no wear on the clothing, nothing but a small bruise the size of a quarter (where I'm not going to show it), and some dust marks on my skidoo suit.
  19. If it's exactly the same as this, I would be in trouble indeed. This one is lucky enough to have a total repaint except for the tank cover. Although it's a good scoot, it doesn't show or demonstrate it's history. It's a good tire, but not new, and the back did not just slide out, the whole scoot, front and back went to slide. You would have a problem on our rides then,,, for it's 'kick stands up' when it comes time to leave. So IF you should ever join one of MarCarl's rides, best get yourself a lick stand, just so you can do it. :stirthepot:
  20. Looking back I guess the biggest problem I had and so far have, is that I sold the bike, took the money and now smucked it up,,,, I know, it can happen, and it will be fixed,,, it's just a feeling I guess.
  21. Yep, it happens, but why did I have to start it this year. What happened you ask????????? Well I'll tell ya!!!! Well maybe I didn't start it, and some others are just too embarrassed to mention it, and maybe some might not even have noticed it yet,,,,,,,, but the scoot I was riding went to sleep,,, right in the middle of the ride no less,,, and it wasn't even parked, hey the wheels were turning and it was in gear one,,,, not only that, there were people watching me as it happened, but mostly they just waited their turn and then kept on their merry way, except for one young fella who offered to help me get 'er out of the sleep mode and back on her two wheels. Here's what happened,,,, I think. First ride of the season, a test ride on my 86 to make sure that the repairs and mods done were in fact repairs and that all that was supposed to work actually worked. First on the agenda was a tank of gas, then back on the scoot, pop it into gear, make a right turn at the road and let 'er out. Worked real good, does it ever feel nice to open the throttle and have first gen response, something everybody should experience in their life-time, at least once, even if you ride a Wing or something similar. Took it about 5 miles and then decided to turn left at a lighted intersection. My light was red so had to wait it out, it turned green, I waited for oncoming traffic, checked to make sure that all the others, 6 in total, were waiting their turn and then let out the clutch and proceeded to turn left. Well it worked for a short distance, about half- way through the turn and then somebody threw some grease or ice under my wheels. First the back started to slide to the right, then when I steered to the right to right things back up the front wheel thought it to be more interesting if it would slide in the same direction as the back wheel, heck they spent all winter together, so no wonder they were of the same mind. Anyways, 2 wheels going in the same direction at the same time and not going forward demanded that I have different riding skills than what I was able to conjure up in such a short time, so I vacated my position as chairman, and instantly became golfer. Needless to say, but I'll say it anyways, the bike and I parted company. I was in a better position than the bike, so even though I was no longer chairman, I took the lead, with scooter following close behind. Thank goodness it was not my 85, for she would have followed me a lot closer, being such a faithful steed, but it was the 86, and we had not been together for more than 10 minutes, and so she got somewhat confused and in doing so, done a spin around which caused her to loose momentum and so stay her distance. Buddy watching this in his truck said that 86 was not too happy about the whole ordeal and had let off some sparks in her lower midsection in protest. He offered to help me right her up, and humbly I accepted his offer, after which I did a quick check over, me and her, and then continued on my 'merry' way. So WHAT HAPPENED? Best I can figure out is that when I left the gas pumps the kick stand did not go up, and the switch did not do it's job, so the bike started and went, until the left hand turn. Lesson to be learned: don't depend on the electrics or the electronics, double check that what you think should have happened actually did. Now, did I forget the kickstand????? probably, it won't come down by itself and it has marks on it that show it was involved as buddy in the truck said it was. But the bike should not have started or gone into gear,,,,, right?????? WRONG!!!!!!!. This time no real damage, can be fixed,,, another time?????
  22. She just wanted to see if you could change,,,, don't do it,,, there'll be a host of other stuff waiting for you if you let think that!!!
  23. I think that the house should be going to the best qualified,,, and I think that would be me,,, haven't figured out what exactly would make me the best qualified yet,,,,, but I know that I'm real good at sleeping,,,,, I shower at least once a month, but if it's Christmas maybe twice,,,,, I don't mind somebody else cooking for me, so I can eat well,,,,,, I plan to stay 2 nights and am told that I can snore loudly so a place of my own would be a bonus for others. I am planning on coming, and I will be tired, and I haven't made any reservations yet so I don't have any that can't be cancelled. Am I in?
  24. Good to hear,,,, sometimes you got to get into the tunnel to see the light,, and then you can really appreciate the light when you get there EH? Glad things are working out for you, and the best for your dealing with the appeal.
  25. You're afterburners aren't working,,, sounds like a 2nd gen issue.
