  1. That is absolutely amazing that a scoot like that is selling for peanuts....
  2. They're located right at the underneath of the diaphragm cover. You need to remove the small cover and then a small screwdriver to reach the screw. Gently turn them counter clockwise until they bottom out and then back then out 2 1/4 turns. That should get it....
  3. Just because I'd check to see if you're getting coolant in your oil. My '07RSV lost the water pump seal and overheated on a Venture West ride in Yreka Ca. It was running a little warm in the AM but coming back to the motel in 112 temp it got so hot I had to slide back on the passenger saddle to survive. Dropped the kick stand in the motel parking lot and it barfed coolant all over... And I was super thankfull that I had trailered it up there. It would had been a PITA getting it back to the barn. What I found was a radiator full of engine oil and it was plugging up the system and another PITA getting the stuff flushed out. It could have been worse if the coolant had gotten into the engine...
  4. With all the rubberized paints available on todays market just about any should work. It just depends on the sidewall flex. If it t'were me I think I'd go with Flexseal spray. That dang stuff is tuff.... MOF that's what I'm going to use for the registration numbers on my new RIB dinghy..
  5. That's always been my problem when running during daylight hours for visibility. Can never remember if they are on or off after a day in the saddle....
  6. You might give some thought to a Soda Blaster... It just depends on what you plan on cleaning... Sand is pretty agressive and as long as you're doing steel it's OK, but using it on aluminum parts it'll do more than just clean. My 2¢
  7. If I remember correctly it is used to turn the aux driving lights on or off..... It's been awhile since doing any night riding...
  8. Well Puc I can see their point about Mich vs Ca. Your's were nice for some folks, but here in the capitol city of Sacramento we do the illegals a little better. and this is just a small portion of the city. I went over to my daughters in Antelope and we had them going off all around us... Best display and funest I've seen....
  9. Pick up one of these.. CHOCK and mount it at the head of the trailer....and you'll only need a couple of tie downs for the rear wheel to keep it centered... and a hank of rope just because to hold the front wheel in the upright.. Even a couple of 2x4 pieces on each side of the rear will work... You can simply ride into the chock and get off the bike. I'm assuming you have a ramp gate?? It'll stay upright.. I've trailered tousands of miles with this set up... Loading and unloading is a snap...
  10. Behind the plastic right angle fitting in the line that comes from the rear reserve and feeds the master there's a expansion hole that may be plugged up. It's a very small hole and using a wire tie from the grocery section of your local market is small enough to clean it out. Just strip the cover off the tie. What happens is as the fluid heats up from the pad dragging it expands and puts more pressure on the pads.. instead of returning to the reserve..and the caliper gets hotter and the fluid expands more.. A vicious cycle.... Ride it around town long enough and the rear locks up tighter than a frogs a$$ If you find it's a plugged hole it's time to bleed the brakes... All of them...
  11. If you've been messing with the carbs the first thing I'd do is 'sync 'm Danno'.. You could be trying to run on #2 only?? My 2¢
  12. Personally I,m not fond of either of those colors on a bike, but white with the blue stripes and gold leaf looks classy navy....
  13. Food for thought... As long as you plan on using the 870 for home defense shop for one that's been road hard and put away wet. Barrel length doesn't matter. Break out your hack saw and lop any bbl off the 18 1/2". Load it up with '00' buck and yer good to go... Lord help any intruder...
  14. Great report Neil. I bet you could even leave it mounted while getting a bite to eat and still have it be there when you return....'cause no one would know what the 'H' it is....
  15. Gotta agree with Puc... On my first '83 I added the progressives, '86 front forks, R1 calipers, and the fork brace. Talk about carving the canyons... The best handling scoot I've ever owned... Wish I'd never sold 'er.....
  16. I'd just check with your local Yamaha dealer. They should be able to order what you need without the hassle of shipping from the states...
  17. I have Corbins on my RSV's... (3x)... Here's my thinking. The Corbins are a hard saddle, and when moving around they allow the pants to slide across the seat. With the OEM's they are nice and comfy but when shifting around the Levi's stick to the seat and the movement is between the pants and the skin of the ass. Makes for raw tail bones and butt blisters... Around town the OEM is fine but when riding 300-500 miles in a day they take their toll. Don't ask how I know this.
  18. I haven't seen the inside of a barber shop in 30 years. Buzz it to 1/4" once a week except when I went hippy for a year or so with a tail.. Buzzed it back once I got tired of it.... I probably saved enough to buy a couple of Ventures....
  19. Looks like I'm gonna pass on this truck. KBB has the trade in value with the low milage at $2200 +/- It's nice so maybe bid 3K. It went to 5K in the first 30 minutes. I'm out... again.... I've noticed that since this sequestered/covid thing happened people are going nuts and bidding online without any common sense. The one good thing about it is I'm saving lots of money... I haven't been high bidder on anything for over 3 weeks!!
  20. Good eye.. I did,t even see that. My mind was stuck on the 11/88... problem solved.. They also have an ,89 Mazda and the vin pic is posted on the wrong truck... Thanks..
  21. So I,ve been shopping for another truck. In the past I've owned Chevies, GMC's, and Fords, but never a Mopar. So I'm looking at a 2001 Ram 1500 4x4 in decent condition with really low miles for a 19 year old truck. My problem is the Vin sticker sez it's build by Mazda in 11/88. Am I missing something here??? Here's a pic of the sticker and the truck... Any help from one of you mopar guys would really help....
  22. Howdy neighbor.... Valley Springs is a great place... I own 1.5 acres of dirt over on Hart Vickson off Baldwin. The plan has always been to develop and I hate to say how many different 'schemes' we've had over the years. Now the plan is to quitclaim it to the kids and they can burn their gray matter. Did you know New Hogan has a ton of striped bass with no limit...if ya like to fish?? Enjoy your new digs, and congrats on the new little one...
  23. Just picked up a set of 6T's out of an auction and had to go look again to see where they were made. Whew!! Performance Tool's. I've never owned a 6T before and almost got a hernia picking one of them up... I do have a couple of 1.5T's wandering around here somewhere so I guess I'm safe.
