  1. Skid I have to replace mine also. You can get the OEM part at Partshark.com. They have the lowest price that I have found.
  2. Yes but the water seeps by the rings and ends up in the oil. Not good.
  3. When I was a young lad. The men that bought old cars would use Kerosene and pour into the carb while it was running to clean the valves and pistons. That was mid to late 50'S. Didn't need to stabilize the gas because at .50 a gallon it didn't last that long.
  4. I have an 03 RSV that I got in 05 with 4200 miles on it. The PO that I got it from used 92 gas from the day he got it. When I ask him why he said that is what he ran in all his previous bikes. When I got it home I looked in the owners manual and found that the bike was set up for 84 gas. So I went to 84 and my MPG dropped like a rock to 125 to reserve. I thought there was something wrong with the bike. I then tried 87 and the MPG went up to 175 to reserve. I have been using 87 since then and I run about the same MPH as you on the slab. I do keep my carbs tuned and air filters clean. I check tire pressure at least once a week or if it sets for a while. OH and I have not done anything to the carbs and run the 4-2-4 Nasty Boy pipes. I now have 108,000 on the clock.
  5. You could sell all of them and trike your Venture and not worry about it being heavy or uncomfortable. I have been thinking of doing just that myself.
  6. NOPE its the BOSSmobile.
  7. I ride an 03 RSV and I also have a 2014 V Star 1300 Classic Tour. It rides as smooth as my RSV and is FI. If I was going to down size the Venture it would be another V Star 1300 and they are water cooled. You said that you have a Road Star. Does it have the Bat wing fairing and hard bags?
  8. When you have the lid off the reserve be very careful that none of the fluid gets on the fairings, it will eat it.
  9. I have a 14 Mustang Convertible that we got in Oct. of 14 with 27,000 on the clock and have 100.000 on it now. Yes we use it a lot. I have been thinking about an extended warranty for it also. But if I do get one I would have to include electrical and cooling with it as they can cost as much as drive train to replace. What ever you do or don't do it is a nice looking ride.
  10. We just got a 60" flat screen tv for the living room last fall and we are just about to cut the cable ties and go to Dish or Sling TV. Tired of the big bills. And if we go with Dish we can get the small Dish for the motorhome also.
  11. Now you are talking. Great looking ride.
  12. My bad I forgot about Skydoc's kits. They are very good also.
  13. I went for a nice ride yesterday on the 03 RSV and then parked the 14 V star 1300 beside it in the new garage we put in last summer.
  14. Yes it sounds like your clutch is slipping. You do not have the slipper clutch in the 07. It is very easy to change in about an hour. Mine did the same thing and I went with the Barons clutch plate and new fiber disk. My old disk were not bad and can be used again as they are still in spec. The spring in these bikes are weak. When you are ready to replace it you can lay the bike over on the left crash bars to access the clutch cover with out loosing any oil. You will need a long ball end Allen wrench to get to the boles at the bottom of the pan close to the exhaust pipe.
  15. Isn't there a set of highway pegs that bolt to the floorboards? I am sure I have seen them for other bikes.
  16. Yep a little cool this week for sure. It can change there in a heart beat. We have seen temps in the high 80* when we get there and by mid week have 35" of and well below zero. We camped and hunted on a ranch near Kaycee along the Crazy Woman river. At about 7,000 ft. and hunted to over 10,000 ft.
  17. Puc I use to go to that area for one or two weeks every year from 1990 to 2005 in Oct for hunting. Buffalo, Kaycee and Ten Sleep area. I would love to live there.
  18. No grass to mow here yet. We did get 2" of the white stuff yesterday but roads were clear about 10:00 last night. Will be in the low to upper 70 by mid week so I will take the Yamaha for a walk.
  19. Dave you haven't made the brackets yet so before you do use the templet you have to see what hole moved. Mount your MO up to the bike and see where the holes line up on the temp. I would think that #2 hole is stagnant and #1 is moved.
  20. I have seen this before and have mentioned it before on this site but that is in the past. Now if the metric companies would have followed HD in their marketing approach here who knows where it would have gone. Would HD be so dominant in the bike industry?
  21. Dave they should work. I have made a lot of brackets for the HD pipes and the pipes you have are made for use on the HD. Best way to find out is to make a bracket out of cardboard and check it with your pipes before being made of metal.
  22. Yes that is true but he is looking for a Wagner grill. They are not made any longer and is like a needle in a hay stack to find.
  23. Dave for the mounting bracket look in the tech section. There is a bracket details there for making your bracket or you can use a "p" clamp. for the hanger.
  24. Randy I wish it was an earlier week or month as I have wanted to get down to the Ashville rally for a few years. I can't make it as the wife wants to go to the WNY rally and it is the same dates as Ashville. Have to please the wife as it is our 45 anniversary on the 18th.
  25. There you go and added something that I would not confess to. It is not the bikes that are getting OLD. It is US.
