If you were running at 60 mph when this happened, it could not be a hydrolock issue. That happens when starting the engine. You are certain the engine is siezed? Any chance it's just a blown main fuse? When they go they can make a very loud "POP", and would take out everything electrical. Also a seized engine at 60 MPH would lock up your rear wheel instantly, unless your clutches are in very bad condition.

Ham Hocks and Black Eyed Peas over Johnny Cake.....YUMMMMM, MMMMMM... It's been a long time. I might have to embrace the suck and eat some carbs.

HBO has turned Tom Swift into a Gay, Woke Snowflake who hates his father. Seriously?!!!! That's it. The world as I know it is gone. Up is down. Black is white. Cats and Dogs living together. It's the end of days!!!!

So far, so good. It's been on the bike for 2 years and it looks like it did the day I installed it. I tried a couple different positions before leaving where it is now. I got the Big A** version as it was the only thing that would hold my Ozark Mtn. Travel Cup. It's a little fiddle with just a soda can, but the larger water bottles fit well. I balked at the price when I was looking for it, but I'd say now, it's worth the $

@Sandro17 Hey guy, I'm not going to report this, but you might want to edit your post. This is a family oriented forum. TBH, it doesn't offend me, but it is not appropriate language here.

I haven't seen anything about the gasoline operation on this one. I have seen several reports that a 20 lb. propane tank will run for 6 hours at half load and 4 hrs. under full load. The manual says the natural gas consumption at full load is twice that of LPG.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/314109022666?epid=21041799473&hash=item49225b51ca%3Ag%3ArcsAAOSwm9lhmA0r&_trkparms=%26rpp_cid%3D61ba2d4e871dbcb6aee0b994 I discovered the eBay certified refurbished section and found this Firman 9400/7500 W tri fuel generator with a 2 year warranty for less than a halfway decent 2500 W gas only generator. I've been wanting to install some kind of emergency power. Ideally a whole house natural gas generator with automatic switch over. I could build a new garage for less $. I was not willing to spend the money on a gas only generator. This fits the bill perfectly. The unit looks brand new, not rebuilt. It has enough capacity to run all my freezers, furnace and water heater with more than enough left over to even run the central air. Now I just need to find it a permanent home and run the gas line and 6ga. cable.

Interesting starter Problem

They way he described it, the idle jets are clogged and they are probably way out of sync. -
Help... looking to buy 2000 Venture and need input beforehand

You have about 1 gal. left in reserve. I have used Lucas oil additive in my '83. It makes shifting smoother. I have not used it my '06 as of yet, but I don't have the clutch whine everyone comments about. Either no whine, or it's the same frequency as my tinnitus and I just don't hear it🙃 -
What model? Check the hazard light switch.

It's not the moving to the front at a stop part that's nuts. It's splitting lanes at speeds over a crawl that is stupid. I know there people in my area that would open a door or move into your path on purpose if they saw someone lane splitting. Just out of spite. These are the same people who purposely drive 5 or 10 mph under the speed limit, until there's room to pass and then they speed up until you can't pass, and slow down again. I see this every day. Last week I watched a guy, going 15 MPH slower than the posted speed stomp the gas and drag raced a legally passing car until the passing car had to back off due to oncoming traffic. Then, sure enough the guy slowed back down under the speed limit. Just pure evil.

I could be wrong, I don't have my '86 here to check, but I don't think there are any cruise controls on the left control pod. They are all on the right side and the center cluster. And there are no cable connections to the cruise buttons. They are all electric. The only cable connection on the left pod would be the enricher cable.

I guess, maybe your's is busted? I've never used the lock position on any of my bikes. I had one, and now I can't remember if it was one of the Ventures, the XJs or one of my Suzukis that turned the tail light on when in the locked position. Can you say "Dead Battery"?
-
I haven't tried to lock my '06, but IIRC, you have to push down on the ignition block to turn the key to the lock position and the steering head needs to be at full stop to the left on the Gen 1.

I would be interested in seeing what parts are available. Please give Dan's son my contact info (in my profile)or or PM me his.

This sounds like a reasonable and fairly safe thing to do and allow. The lane splitting ala CA seems to me to be a suicide pact for bikers.

Sorry Earl, I've got fronts somewhere, but no rear calipers.

As far as I have ever heard, when over filled the oil gets pulled into the air box and then spreads out where it can. It tends to make it6 look there is an oil leak on the left(side stand) side of the engine somewhere. I've not heard of actually damaging anything. I over filled my '83 once and it made a mess, but didn't hurt anything.

Tire tread cracking
luvmy40 replied to jdross440's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
You should really replace a MC tire every 3-4 years at the most regardless of the tread wear. The rubber compounds harden over time and are not safe to ride on forever.
