  1. Mine came out as: "Ol' Nutcase of the Satan's Barbers MC". O.K., who ratted me out?
  2. It was interesting to me to watch the news of the Presiden't trip to meet with Latin American leaders in Trinidad. The cars being driven in thenews shots there are vintage 1940's. That's what socialism has given to them.
  3. Oops. Forgot to append the file. Here it is: Snopes.com is a secret tool of the Democratic Party to promote Barack Obama- Fiction! Summary of the eRumor: An eRumor about Snopes.com accusing them being owned by a flaming liberal and this man is in the tank for Obama. The Truth: In October, 2008, stories began circulating via forwarded emails that the popular urban legends site Snopes.com was owned by liberals and was "in the tank" for presidential candidate Barack Obama. As with many forwarded emails, the criticism did not include any example of what the writer of the email claimed was the difference between what Snopes.com reported and what Barack Obama had actually said. Snopes.com is an excellent site that has become an authoritative source for information about urban legends and forwarded emails. We regard David and Barbara Mikkelson, the founders and operators of Snopes.com, as colleagues and professional researchers who have earned a good reputation for what they do. We can give a unique perspective on this story because we do the same kind of work as Snopes.com and have sometimes been the target of similar criticism. We've got a collection of emails that have come to TruthOrFiction.com accusing us of being "right wing whackos" as well as "liberals" and "communists." We've been suspected of being owned and operated by both Republicans and Democrats. We've been called "Christian propagandists" as well as "atheists pretending to be neutral." We occasionally receive emails that have elaborate theories about who "really" owns us and what our "real" motives are. The bottom line is that if you try to report the truth, there will be those who don't like the truth you've reported and who will develop suspicions about why you did. That, in our view, is what is happening with Snopes. The 2008 presidential campaign has been one of the most intense and unique in our nation's history and has prompted more political eRumors than any presidential campaign in our experience, especially about Barack Obama. These anti-Snopes emails have probably been prompted by someone who does not like Barack Obama and does not like the fact that Snopes (or TruthOrFiction.com for that matter) has debunked some of the emails that are not true about him.
  4. Its an urban legend. I append a file from http://www.truthorfiction.com about that. In addition, if you traipse to the local library and get last month's Readers Digest, it carries an article on Snopes, and how they ferret out the details of questions submitted to them. Greybeard
  5. I just turned 65 in January. Put over 8K miles on rides last year. Wife of 64 loves to ride on the back, so I think we have a while to enjoy two wheels and great roads.
  6. Two friends and I abandoned Northern Indiana last Thursday, trailered bikes down to warmer climate, and rode over 1000 miles including the Keys. Great warm weather, and it was good to get back in the saddle, if even for just a few days. Can't wait for the Indiana weather to get through raining, snowing and start acting like it cares about letting us get back on the road again.
  7. Just checked my Deltran cables, and the metal exposed plug is black, the protected connnnector is red. Hope that helps ya.
  8. When I had my 1st gen and my 2002 Vic TC, the wife didn't care to ride much. Especially on the Vic, as it was too harsh a ride for her dainty hinder-parts. Long story short: replaced the 1st gen after a rear-end crash, and sold the Vic, and bought a 2007 RSV. The bride loves the comfort of the RSV, and during warm weather, it is she who initiates the discussion on taking a ride. I have a different wife...same woman, just a different wife. Worth the investment in the 2nd gen.
  9. Just happen to have one, almost new. Bought it just before my 91 got rear ended. No, I wasn't hurt. Yes, I was standing near it. You can have it. send me a pm and tell me where to send it. Somebody ought to be blessed by using it. Its not doing my garage shelf any good.
  10. Guys, Beware if you get an email from "Ridelikeapro.com", saying that your credit card order had a problem. I just received this email, and I have not ordered from them in many moons. Someone is PHISHING for your card info. I sne them an email to let them know their site is being used to PHISH data from their customers. Whatever you do, DO NOT CLICK ON THEIR LINK AND ANSWER ANYTHING. Your credit card will be used to spend your $$ on someone elses Christmas.
  11. His dipstick isn't touching any oil.
  12. I like that idea so much I went to Ace, bought a plastic know, AND a 6mm screw. Used the screw to act as a tap, and voile! I don't worry about the loss of a seat nut now. Thanks for the great idea.
  13. Thom, Got that thang! Good looking, now to get a nice belt to go with it. Thanks for the speedy response.
  14. Just sent in my order for a buckle! Can't wait to show it off!
  15. Hi folks. I am a lurker, gleaner, user of great tech info, and now a new poster. I have an 07 RSV, and used to be a gen 1 rider until it got totalled in a rear ender this spring while I was standing near it. But that's another story. Like several of you, I am having some of the radio issues, of squealing, cutting out, and no control over the settings. My dealer's service department split the fairing and did the connector dance. Now he is going to order the replacement controller. Gonna ride Brown County next week with several of our church biker club folks. So there ya are. I am not lurking any longer grey beard
