  1. Some guy had some hitch balls for sale, 10.00 and they swivel left and right but not front and back. Said they where good with pulling a trailer ? I have owned 5th wheel trailers and bought a truck bed hitch that was able to swivel all the way around, and had great luck with it. Pulled thru the mountains in WV not far from Skid, any ideas I am all ears, no really I have big ears. Jim
  2. Being in the Nursing home industry for 20+ years and living in Fla. for 30 years i have seen my share of hurricanes and water spouts unbelievable rain storms. I have seen refrigerators blown out of condos a 1/4 of a mile. We built nursing homes that was used as hurricane shelters, no gable roofs all hip roof design, walls tied into the slab, positive and negative pressure attic draft stops, 100 plus miles per hour windows. I was building one in Avon park Fla. when hurricane Andrew came to town. We where 90 miles north of the direct hit of Homestead Fla. I have seen them things come in the gulf of mexico and they would cover the whole gulf, but when Andrew came knocking he was pissed, we use to say there is a least a toilet or hot water heater standing after some came a shore. But not ole buddy Andrew, 90 miles north we got a strong breeze and a shower or two, only 90 miles from the eye!!!!!!!! He ate EVERYTHING in his path, only slabs were left, Homestead AFB was totally destroyed, they evacuated at the last moment from the hurricane tracking station in Miami. Where did all the wood and concrete, asphalt, glass go. There was NOTHING ANYWHERE and he did a job on Florida City on his way out, did I mention there was not even lawns anywhere!!!!! I never seen one do that much devastation, they had to come out and spray paint house numbers on the slabs, man can not build something to stop the fury of storms PERIOD! remember the perfect storm up in north eastern coast out in the Atlantic ocean, they made a movie of it. They lost a oil rig when over a 100 foot waves took it out. There is no place like home totoo.
  3. Hey Skid, hope all things are going well. I tell a quick story about barns you will get a kick out of. When I got stationed back to the states it was Panama City Fla. Tyndall AFB. well those who know where that is at it really we called it lower Alabama. I was a crew chief on F-106 mechanic actually, some of us guys would run up to Alabama and find those old barns, some times their would be a motor bike as the old ladies would call them out in the barn and usually their husbands have passed on. There would be a old harley knuckle head or maybe a pan head and the problem was that there was not many places to get them serviced back then and if a John Deer or some other part off a tractor would not fix it they just put the bike in the corner of the barn and forget about it. I must say the years was 1972 and 1973, so their was not much interest in garage sales and GOD only knows how many may be still out there way back in the woods, so I said a short story and I'll end it here. Take care and GOD bless, Jim

  19. LAST NOVEMBER I PAID 7,600.00 FOR A 2005 RSV WITH 21,000 MILES AND NOT A SCRATCH ON IT AND BASICALLY EVERYTHING IS ALREADY ON IT THAT YOU COULD BUY, SOMETIMES IT NOT ALWAYS WHAT YOU PAY FOR IT BUT WHAT WILL IT COST FOR EXTRAS TO MAKE YOUR BIKE !!!!! Jim
  20. I have no idea what you are about to do, But you will be in our prayers. There is only one Flying Fool and tell puc to respect his elders!!!!!!!!!!! Jim

  22. If I could say anything about the accident, now that I have time to think about it would be to not underestimate your skill when the crap hits the fan. Unfortunately the longer you ride the more you become a little relax and sometimes a little complacent on how deadly moving things with a lot of weight can become in a split second. I always try to leave 2 bike lengths per 10 miles per hour and more after 50 miles per hour, now that may be way wrong advice!! I am telling you what I do. This bike is new to me and only with 11,000 miles experience is not much at all. When I take it out next time, I will do some stopping exercises. We were only during 20 miles per hour, but missed read the cars in front of me. When I saw the brake lights go off, I made a dumb decision, I should have stopped anyway. This all happens in seconds, should of could of, I am a little late for that now. I am sure there are are some members that were trained motorcyclist, maybe a motorcycle LEO. Thanks for thinking of us, take care. jim
  23. I do not know if I am doing this right. I guess my wife and I decided to see how it feels to crash on our RSV last Sunday. WE did a little dance and then kissed the asphalt. Thank GOD we stopped, but it was sideways. She threw us off, what a nerve. Wife 2 broken ribs and a knee that has a attitude problem. I landed on the palms of my hands and knees and jumped up looking for wife, she was laying flat on her back on the double yellow lines. The hell with the bike how's the wife!!! We did not even put a hole in our pants or any rips anywhere. She said to me, see if the bike will start and let's get home? But it was not to be, hello ambulance and off to the er. I am a x fire chief and I looked around to see if I could find one of the great people that came to aid to keep the traffic moving. And a off duty ems worker also helped my wife when she seen what went down. Then a couple of guys asked me if they could move my bike out of the road, I said please do and thanks. I am going to stop my story here because some humans are not all the same, so may ask a few questions on the repair work. Can you fix a fairing?, small dent in tank? Windshield scratched beyond repair. The rest I believe I can come up with. Life goes by in years, your life can go in a second. I am blessed to be able to type this, I have to remember to keep the shiny side up, to the rest of the family ride safe. Jim
  24. Don thanks for helping me get back on the site, you do put a lot of work that may be passed by. But I for one am truly thankful, and I am Blessed to be part of this big family. Jim
  25. being a believer in JESUS is the hardest thing you will ever do! I look at the fact that if the LORD wanted him home he would have took him, that being said I believe he has something for your son to do for him. GOD is not done with him yet!! He may have a testimony that needs sharing for others that have plowed that path and only those who been there will understand. I know that personally, I was a drunk stoned married 4 times dirtbag of the lowest kind. He could have snuffed me out like a candle, but HE was not done with me. Only GOD will do what no human can do, because we will take the credit. But if GOD does it then HE deserves the honor and glory and HIM alone! and I will pray, Jim
