Hey Randy, man did that bring back some memories!I was a crew chief on F-4s C and D models in Kunsun Korea. That was one tough plane and could put a hurting on anything in it's sight. That battery could fry a ring on you finger real quick, good old Martin Baker seats and that bone chilling word FOD. Thanks for the memories, Jim

As been in the parenting business over 40 years I can say a little about love for our children. The problem is not how you raise them as much of the moral compass of our country right now. I have been blessed as far as my daughter goes, but 4 boys is not a game changer. From the oldest ( 43 ) to the late gift of GOD is (24 ). There is no moral. I tell my youngest about how I Love Lucy was married and dressed in pj's and kissed good nite on the cheek and slept in different beds and that tv was shut off at 10pm for the whole viewing area. And EVERY show had a moral ending from Mayberry to Bonanza. This generation is bombarded by sex and everything you can think of, homosexual, what in the world was that!!! We are a by product of our environment and this environment sucks. I was as normal as any pimple face boy with raging hormones that said if you really love me line. Love is going to be the peace maker in your home and chances are you will have a little one running around some day in your house, and he is probably are bum, so she is going to have to count on those who shows her what real love is as you have for all these years. I told my boy's do not shame your name for the girl changes her's when she gets married. I am no better then any one else, oh the mistakes I have made in my life, but I do remember those who loved me and was willing to help me when I needed it the most. She needs you more now then ever before. He will probably fade out of the picture, and she will know who stuck with her through the thick and thin. LOVE what a wonderful thing GOD gave us to give to others. GOD bless, Jim

my 96 rs rides to rough for my bad back
blue mtn. jim replied to worm's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
For those who do not have any idea of what REAL back pain is, I say GOD bless them! I broke my back 9 yrs ago. I have lost 3 inches in my height and my t-12 has disintegrated, no doc will touch me,VA or other wise and I am 61. I bought a second hand voyager kit and put it on myself to make sure it was right, when i hear a bad story about that kit it usually put on by someone who is not going to ride it. Then I invested in good seats and a rider's BACK REST.If it was not for those two combo's I could never ride again. I also know that with out some serious working of the back muscles then there will be no hope of anything. I was told by several doctors to get a good recliner and watch tv for the rest of my life, I know in my heart that I would be dead by now. I am a realist, my muscles hold my back up where normal people" back is held up by their skeleton bones.I work hard at staying in shape because there is no plan B. And yes I chop wood and build and use everything as a work out for my back and man do I pay for it. You will be able to ride again just make your mind up and do it! I went thru 5yrs of 4 oxycontin and 8 oxycodones a day, morphine patches, and things that i can not remember. You are the only person you got, it may sound funny but it is the truth. I still have my days where I can not get my socks on or spend the whole day in bed, put I will be ready the next morning. I am a believer and know that the LORD is not done using me yet, I hope I gave you some hope, that was my intention. Take care Jim -
Well i guess the roads are safe again!!!!! Or at least until the next time

blue mtn. jim replied to Sleeperhawks Mechanic's topic in Picture Folder
Well i have made it to our first rally Saturday, ( can we do again ). It turn out to be a amazing fellowship of like minded people, no hang ups, no attitudes, no ego trips and so on. It is a lot of fun to finally put faces to people who you been talking to on this silly computer. Most of all we have a memory of some great people that will always be in our hearts and minds, thanks for the memories. That is a old Bob Hope saying. I could not put names with all of those who I meet, SENIOR MOMENTS, Janet retires next April and already I am biting at the bites to go to another rally. I am hooked!!! Thanks everyone for treating us as family and I pray the LORD blesses you all until we meet again, Janet and Jim. -

Hey Brother, I have been looking at a place called Richland Roadster Trikes out of Dade City Fla.I have owned a Voyager kit and loved it. You will hear a lot bad things about the Voyager but most have had other people put it on for them, not a good idea there is so many pre setting that most people will blow off. I have put 50,000 miles on one kit and a friend of mine who was 68yrs old put about 20,000 on that kit. I have no idea about Richland, I will ride down there and see what it is all about, says he'll paint the fenders to match you bike for free! I just reason the 12,000 trike kit on a 7,000.00 bike. Drop me a line if you find anything worth looking at. Take care Jim

Brian's "why we ride" thread got me wound up...
blue mtn. jim replied to cowpuc's topic in Watering Hole
Now i am going to show my age, i can remember drooling over the bikes that J C Penny use to sell, Benelli, Moter Guzzi and a few others. You to make motor noises and sit until I saw my mother walking towards me, OH OH. All that make believe riding and never had to put gas in them? I have not rode with anybody famous, but for harley riders, Pete Hill has a shop down the road, I think he may hold the speed record on a Knuckle Head. My bike history consist of Harley Sport, Low Rider, Bultaco,Norten 750, Kawy 900, Suzuki 1500, Honda Goldwing,RSV, and a purple chopper with a 5hp engine. May have left one out, senior moment. Well my brother if all goes well, wife retires in April next year and are gearing up to do some country camping, already have a trailer. You and Tippy are my heroes, enjoy this beautiful country on a wing and a prayer ( heavy on the prayer part ) Take care and GOD Bless, Jim -

Hey Cowpuc, When you mentioned Steve Mc Queen riding with you at a race it reminded me about a movie with him in it. It was a scene when he jumped the barb wire fence with a dirt bike to escape the Germans. I had the fortune to meet the man that actually did it, he was at the Yacht club at Tyndall AFB when I met him, what a set of brass, well you get the idea. Jim -
How much does it cost to breath???? I am so blessed to have left NY when I went into the Air Force and never went back, Jim

A small bit of history here! When Lewis and Clark explored the west with a Indian women guide ( do not think for one moment that I could spell her name, Sacajewaya ) or something like that ) the Indians thought they where GOD'S. They had a air rifle that could drop a deer with no noise, the Indians could not believe their eyes. So the word spread like wild fire all among the Indians out west. Now let's think about this, AIR RIFLE back in those days and not to mention it was a Italian made and if my memory serves me right it was a 50cal. So I guess that we really have not come all that far, Jim

I think that i saw your Canadian friends on 81 around 6pm, we where on are way to WV. The leader had a beautiful Vulcan towing a white trailer. It is a small world if it was them, Jim

There is a nice place right off the BRP called Little Switzerland, you can't miss it. Free breakfast buffet, beautiful views. We visit the area once in a while when the weather is not so nasty. But for another Venture rider I would try to meet up with you somewhere along the BRP. I am about a hour and a half south from Asheville NC. On I-26 in SC. I hope you have a great and safe ride, Jim

BF Goodrich CT works great on 2nd Gen Venture
blue mtn. jim replied to hardriver's topic in The Darksiders
I had a 75mph rear tire blow out on I-95 going towards Florida about a month ago, believe me I was happy to have brought extra pair whitey tighties. first time in 45yrs of riding. I bought a Goodyear 185/65/15 VIVAII at walley world, that one time was enough for me. The tire suck a 1" screw and had less then 1,ooo miles on it, that is a terrible feeling when your bike goes side ways back and fault as it pleases and I always ride the center lane on 3 lane roads, I have to be able to dodge left or right if needed, if you can RIDE a bike then you can adjust to how a bike feels period and that goes for your health care also. Jim -
Well I am right there with you, broke my back 9yrs ago and my left leg needs a tune up. This is the first time I have rode only two wheels in about 6yrs. Iv'e drop her a few times but things are getting better, so hang tough. Nothing like the wind in the face, how blessed I am just to get that far. Take care, Jim

I also have my wagon loaded serving the LORD, but a pastor's wife once told me and I never forgot it. Do not let your heavenly aspirations over run your earthly obligations. And it always seems that a pastor's family suffers the most, mostly the Shepard. We have a on time GOD, but we will never always be a on time human. GOD bless, your brother in CHRIST Jim

This little old lady is in the hospital and her pastor came to visit her. Well he sat there and listened and answered and the time flew by. During this time he accidently ate a whole bowl of peanuts on the lady. Well they prayed and he said goodbye and suddenly realized that he ate all her nuts, he said oh I am so sorry that I ate all your peanuts I'll have my secretary send some over right away. Oh she said you do not have to do that pastor, you see I do not have any teeth so I just suck the chocolate off of them.

We ride the BRP a lot and just live a little ways from it, even thou I am in SC. There is a place called Little Switzerland on the BRP. If you can 8 people to get together, you can have a cabin that has 8 rooms, complete privacy with there own bathrooms. They have shelter for bikes and air compressor and they cater to bikers. Last time I was there it was 65.00 a nite and a free breakfast buffet. It is a nice clean place to visit, Jim
