  1. I just happened to see this on Ebay. I wonder if it would work on the First Gen Ventures. If so, it looks like a good solution to those who have a problem with the temps running near the read before the fans come on. This one turns on the fans 20 degrees sooner. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-V-max-Cooling-Fan-Switch-Vmax_W0QQitemZ190130673497QQihZ009QQcategoryZ35580QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  2. I've read several posts about the saddle bag trim rails (for the RSV) not fitting "properly" (as in not well aligned with the bags/exhausts; touching rear turn signals, etc.). And I read the excellent tech post about re-aligning them by making a new mounting hole, etc. However, I was wondering if anyone has purchased any lately, and if so, do they fit any better? The reason I ask is that I've found them to be on "backorder" at several dealers lately, and I'm hoping (yeah right) this may indicate a new batch is on the way. Smokee
  3. What is the determining factor for the amount you can lower the front end. I have read 1 inch and I have read 1.5 inch. I just lowered my bike 1" and all seems well, but I'm still just a little off from being able to stand flat footed. Thanks Everette
  4. i have read ,in different threads and posts, that the carb. diaphragms,DO have a direct bearing on "engine idle." i have also read, here, that the diaphragms have NO effect on idling. so which is correct? also , today, i read a thread or two that mentioned "enrichment diaphragms"! first time i've ever heard of them. where are they located, and do THEY have any influence over "smooth idling".? just jt
  5. Hello to all!!! I have noticed a front end wobble on my bike. I put on the cruise control and took my hands off the bars a couple inches and within seconds it started to wobble. I have never had a bike do that:no-no-no:. I read up on this in another section and how many foot lbs of torque do i have to put on the bearings after i repack them? This site is awesome:happy65:. So far i have read up on how to bleed the rear brakes on my bike and how to repair the suspension computer. I need to put seals in the forks so that will be my next project minus the stealer mechanics bill:rotf:
  6. I have a 2006 RSTD all I have changed on it is the air filters to (K&N) and I put a set of road king exhaust on it I like the way it sounds now. But when I throttle down to change gears I get a loud Pop most of the time but not always. Now I have read that with these changes I do not need to modify the carbs but why am I getting the backfire? Thanks for the help. PRNTTEK

    Rk pipes?

  8. I bought my 2001 RSV used and have read alot about the levelers in the forums. Are these them...?
  9. I've had my 04 RSV for about a year and always suspected that the speedometer read a bit high. My suspicions were comfirmed on a recent trip to CA, when my GPS read 73MPH but my speedo read 80. I double checked by using a stopwatch and mile markers ans sure enough, it read about 10% high. I'm guessing that the odometer is also off by that much, but I haven't checked yet. Anyway, I looked around on the web and found the Speedohealer unit with a plug and play Yamaha harness for $94 (with free shipping). Seemed like a high price to pay to correct my speedo, but then I remembered how much my last speeding ticket cost. I have a heavy right arm, i like knowing exactly how much over the limit I am, and want my odometer mileage to be accurate. I bit the bullet and ordered one for Christmas. All I can say is that the installation was a breeze and the setup was equally simple. After I calibrated it using the formula on their website, my speedometer is accurate now to within 1MPH thoughout the range. Check www.speedohealer.com for details. Now that I've already spent the cash http://www.venturers.org/Forum/images/smiles/icon_cry.gif , I was wondering if I should have brought it to the dealer for a warranty speedometer repair instead. Anyone ever have any luck with that? Seems to me that 10% high is outside of the error spec for a new vehicle. http://www.venturers.org/Forum/images/smiles/icon_question.gif http://www.venturers.org/Forum/images/smiles/icon_question.gif
