I'm going to mount a GPS NAV system on my 89 and think it would be great to tie it's audio output into the intercom system so the NAV will interrupt the radio when it talks. Now, the audio output on the unit is enough to drive headphones so I bet it's way too much signal to tie directly into the MIC input on the amp. Anyone got any suggestions on how to properly make this connection?

bought a new garmin nuvi 200 gps for my wing and just installed it. looks factory and it was cheap. don't have all the bells and whistles but it will get me where i aim it. hope i can hear it cuz it don't have an audio output jack. thats the only draw back. i need to get another power cord and mount so i can switch it over to my vstar.

Hi everyone, I am a new member/poster and need some info if someone can help. I am seriously considering the purchase of an 08' RSV and need to know the alternator output (amps) of the bike. The dealer for whatever reason can't answer my question and there is no info on Yamaha's website. I plan on installing heated grips, heated aftermarket seat, extra power outlets (for heated clothing and Ipod), and driving/fog lamps. It is possible all of these items will be "on" at the same time and I need to make sure the bike can handle these accessories without any battery drain before I make my purchase. Thanks in advance. BTW: Excellent forum and members.

I think my stator is going or gone. New battery, and seems to stay charged, but volt meter is showing max 12 volts droping to 10 ideling at a stop with brake held. Meter shows what seems to be a full sweep from idle to 3000rpm, but shows about 2volts lower than it used to be. Any thoughts?? Also, Who has installed Buckeye's High Output stator and what if any differences have you had to deal with? Thanks, DJ P.S. Just figgered out how to attach a photo, if anybody cares.

I finally checked my CB antenna out this weekend and discovered I had just as much power going towards the radio as I did the antenna. No wonder it didn't work real well. Anyway I checked the radio with a good antenna on the truck and found about 2.5 watts output. So I am looking for a good place to buy another replacement for the bike. Does anyone have good information where to find a replacement? Probably will go with a Firestick.....

I need to know how many of you have gotten the Higher Output Stator and what you think of it?? Is 55 watts enough for allot of lights?? As we all know the VENTURES is not enough. I want to add some more lights and with pulling the trailer I know I will be under powered on the stator. I just keep adding more stuff more:mo money: on my favorite VENTURE................Ron

Sometime in the recent past, I believe there was a thread about a problem with the output shaft... I didn't pay too much attention, because I hadn't experienced anything like that described - soooo.... Well now guess what..? Yesterday on my way home from work my drive shaft went out. I had had some hard shift / torque lash kinda thing the day before and again right before I pulled up to a stop light. I went to pull away when the light changed and no going anywhere! I could hear the shaft spin at the middle gear area but ut was a stripped gear type of sound. My question is, where can I find the thread where this was discussed before? I tried searching, but no luck, so I am probably using the wrong search terms... Anyone able to help a feeble minded doofus like me?

My air suspension system just started giving me the E4 error message(The pressure sensor has no output voltage). What may be causing this? Thanks, bbcoach56

Could a few of you with the Mk1 (early model) Ventures, please do some electrical readings at the headlight plug. What I am trying to determine, is mine the only one with power on the low beam, in addition to the high beam. With my results below, no wonder my high beam is so bright. I want to install a headlight modulator / relay on my 83VR. It works great on the low beam side, but have nothing on high beam due to excessive low beam voltage also present, shutting the unit off. I have tested the unit on another bike (83 750 Maxim) & it works great. My Voltage readings was as follows, at the bikes headlight plug. Switch on Low Beam Low output 11.8V High output 3.58V Switch on High Beam Low output 10.54V High output 11.49V I probably should look inside the switch, as well, to check things there too.

Has anybody in here ever replaced their bulbs with LED bulbs? The tail lights are simple to find replacement bulbs but the turn signal bulbs would have to be made at a right angle to point to the front or rear of the bike. I have seen the blade type for the instrument panel and marker lights. The marker light again would have to be made with a right angle. Any suggestions? I know the VR's are lacking in the power output department and figure I could save some wattage for my trailer and other accessories if I can swap in LED bulbs. In the mean time I'm talking to a guy who says he can rebuild the rectifier and upgrade the stator for more output. Just have to find a couple used specimens to take him so he can get started.

Has anybody ever tried to pipe the output from an MP3 Player through the audio system of the Venture? I would think that you might be able to feed the output from the MP3 Player into the input from the cassette player. Just imagine a few hundred of your favorite songs, playing through the speakers of the Venture, without fumbling for cassettes. I look forward to hearing from anybody with Thoughts or Suggestions about this idea. Thanks, Dean

I am seriously considering a Ft. Collins run, but am unsure of my Cb. Is there a way of increasing output power a little on the radio itself, and, or, improving my output by fine tunning this single masted unit as a whole? I very seldom actually transmit because I haven't been blessed with the gift of gab, but if I need it in the desert, in the middle of the night - I want to have all the power I can get. :whistling:
