Questions about heated grips
Atoolnut replied to DANG's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I found heated gloves are too bulky..with heated grip you can still wear late summer /fall style gloves...as for juice hogs checked voltage draw when plugged in still above recommended specs...I don't run passing lights when grips are on..headlight is HID..led rear light saves power.. -

We have a planned trip for 10 days around Gatlinburg Ten...I have looked at all the 'typical' rides ie dragon etc. But was wondering if any one has Google map routes of their favourite yet less known areas to ride..we are not worried about riding a couple of hours to get somewhere to ride...live in Ontario its part of riding...also any places of interest that should be seen ..ie towns etc....we will travel I75 down to Kentucky then back way to gatlinburg..any suggestions.....all roads through the smokies are open?. Thanks for any info

Mine was the same..08....as said before the bracket that attaches to back of truck was bent towards the rear ..I took apart the support rod assembly...then used channel lock pliers to 'gently' bend it back...lid now goes up all the way

Thanks that did cross my.mind ..as well a short set just to get wheels off tne ground for cleaning...not a fan of leaving it on jack....learning curve
-
Started using carbon one lift adapter the Don was kind enough to hold for me.....a little leery at first ..a bit wobbly on the jack .tried a different jack still wobbly...said to hell with it jacked up and put legs..steady as I wanted..changed out wheels for new tires and crush drive lube... It was worth the $$ can now work easier, and will be careful when raising and lowering... Thanks great product

hid headlight causing cb problems
Atoolnut replied to Atoolnut's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
The cb transmit works fine with hid on ..the high setting on the squelch ..20.. still let's me hear close rider and transmit is OK.... High squelch reduces distance? What kind of noise filter would work best...product ID..?..eBay sells a 'cb noise filter... http://www.ebay.ca/itm/380590586293?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649..... Is this just crap As stated I will move ballast as far from head unit and also run a separate ground wire back to battery .the hid is powered through a eastern beaver power dist block that runs all grounds together to a single wire to battery..perhaps too many ground wires is causing a ground loop interference..I will also ground ballast to frame as well?. -

hid headlight causing cb problems
Atoolnut replied to Atoolnut's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Buzz and as if there was no squelch turn squelcj all way up you lose distance as well -
Went on a group ride to Adirondacks this weekend...I had installed hid headlight but had never used the cab since install....found that with hid lit the squelch had to be turned almost all the way to 20 to reduce intereference..with hid off squelch worked at about 4-7 setting......there must be a high frequency interference from hid...any thoughts on what parts/resistors etc to stop this ...or would relocating hid ballast as far away stop interference..but not a lot of free wire to play with Thanks for any info Les

Usually Canadians don't show patriotism...our American brothers and sisters know how.....except June 1 when by my guess 2000 bikes roared down the highway of heroes ' the 401 from Whit by to Trenton where our fallen heroes make their first stop upon returning from war after their ultimate sacrifice.....A moving rolling tribute with bridges lined with flags flying and a touching memorial service at the end Let us not forget http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=9stbBd1znJQ&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D9stbBd1znJQ%26feature%3Dyoutu.be

Anybody Upgraded Their Front Brakes?
Atoolnut replied to bongobobny's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Glad that the calipers you got from me worked out...what year was the font r6 rotors from...any install issues with them..I still have not had any time to fully test the new m/c and calipers ....interested if rotors make that much difference -
Where did the extension bracket come from?
