Great suggestion! Thanks!

Would like to if it works out. Our destinations are Colorado and Utah. Will most likely take I-80 west to Cheyenne, Wyoming. Told someone in Loveland, Colorado that I would visit him.

Thanks Larry!

I am very thankful that a couple folks have stepped forward, in CO and UT. Yes, I would enjoy buying these folks a cold beer. Will see if I change the oil or just visit.

Thanks! Bonus is we get to spend a week with our kids/grandkids in LA before this two week cruise. Let the line dancing and Zumba begin...

Thanks Hurricane Sandy... We get to see our grandkids...

Rick, Planning to join the Galena 2013 International Rally and then head west. Fellow rider in Colorado offered to help me with oil change, if I choose to do so. Or, he said we could go shooting.
-
Then, I'll be sure to stop in LA for the oil change.
-
Okay, I will ask before attempting an oil change. Estimating trip to be 6,000 miles. I may be okay doing nothing or just changing the oil filter. Will decide when the time comes. Thanks!

If I find a Wal-Mart with an auto department, then they can dispose of my oil. Sounds like a plan. Thanks!

Guess I could take the old oil to a filling station?

Wondering how folks do oil chnges on long trips? Do you look for a dealer? Do you change it at a filling station? Thanks!

All natural gas pipes in our neighborhood were replaced with hoses with a single connection at our inside gas meter. Very interesting to watch the upgrade. A similar type hose was used to connect our gas meter to our furnace. If installed properly, looks very safe. Our inside oil tank was removed and gave us a lot of space. Best change we ever made to our house.

Had such problems with our old oil burner and folks who maintained it. Sometimes they would skip servicing the oil filter and nozzle. We also had a relay fail and filled our house with black smoke. We have hot air heat, so the walls/ceilings were always gray. We've had our high-efficiency, natural gas furnace for a few years, and we love it! No more oil deliveries... Wife complained one day that our gas bill had gone up over the years. Reminded her that we previously only used gas for hot water. We are saving a ton of money. Only one gas explosion in our town in the 40 years we have been here. Someone had a leak where gas entered their home. House was leveled and neighborhood windows were broken, but man and his mother were okay.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Was searching Netflix this evening for a movie. Came across a four episode TV series on a trip down Route 66 from Chicago to LA. Billy Connolly drives a VW trike. Watched episode one tonight, and it was excellent. Looking forward to the other episodes.

Many folks lost everything. It is very sad. The weather is getting cold, and many folks are standing in devastation wondering what to do. Fortunately, help is on the way, but the recovery will take much time. In the meantime, many will suffer.

Finally, cruising tomorrow...

"Sandy's low-pressure systems pushed cold air down from Canada to bring the winter-like conditions to North Carolina's mountains, National Weather Service meteorologist Doug Outlaw said. Some areas reported getting up to 3 feet of snow." "Hennessey said the storm left snow drifts as high as 5 feet in Richwood and 3 feet in Summersville." http://news.msn.com/us/heavy-snow-kills-5-in-w-va-including-candidate-rose

Central NJ is no way as bad as NYC, but it is still bad. Took a ride to Costco today with Jeannette. Had to go to two Costcos before we found one that was open. Power is out in most places. Most traffic lights are out. Huge trees are down everywhere. Saw one tree that flattened a car. Most filling stations are closed. Second Costco was on emergency power and was not pumping gas. The less than a handful open filling stations have cars lined up down the roads, and also there are lines of folks with gas cans going around the blocks. Driving around town is like driving through a maze. Schools and most businesses are closed. It's a very sobering sight.
