Implants can take a very long time, many months. Old tooth is extracted, and bone graft is done. Time is required for bone to grow enough to cement in a post for the crown. Even my root canal, post and crown will probably take about a month. Involves initial visit, two trips to surgeon, post installation and crown fitting, crown manufacture and lastly crown installation. My dentist is cautious, but his work lasts a good long time.

$1,200 for just the root canal...

Went to dentist this morning. Not enough tooth left to directly attach crown. However, I don't need an implant. Need a root canal, post and crown. Going to doc later this morning for the root canal. It will take about a month to complete the work. Sadly, will not be going to Freebird's MD.

Cannot believe this topic came up. I just broke a lower molar. Did a good job and blew out a side below the gum line. Yes, need an implant. There is no pain, so nerve must be dead. Hopefully doc is in tomorrow. Worried that this may impact our trip to Freebird's MD. Will find out tomorrow.

My biggest regret is that I have to wait until Tuesday to head off to Freebird's Maintenance Day.
