  1. Recently got bad fuel at remote station, deserted with credit card access. Fortunately, got home before trike acted up. Had to drain fuel tank and fill with new conditioned fuel, replaced fuel pump (got damaged), replaced fuel filter and then coaxed new fuel into carbs by reving and popping clutch. Engine finally cleared itself, and trike is back to its old self.
  2. This news is heartbreaking! Bongo was a friend to everyone. His technical knowledge and dedication were a great asset to the club. Condolences to Becky and all those who knew and loved him. RIP Bongo!
  3. Sorry to hear this Don! Hope things work out for you!
  4. You may have more than one problem, but I've had some of those symptoms with a clogged fuel filter or bad fuel pump. Turning bike off for a while will allow fuel to pass through a clogged filter. Had to rev a lot to get home with a bad fuel pump.
  5. At 11:30 today, saw fellow with a club jacket on black gen2 driving towards Newark Airport on Route 22. Can't recall the last time I saw a Venture around here. To say the least I was excited.
  6. Oh wow! This saddens me greatly! Will continue to send prayers.
  7. Custom Dynamics LED turn signals provide both white/amber light. Can use modified flasher or use load resistors.
  8. Few years back, one of our fellow Venture riders died as a result of a lightning strike. Fellow was returning from ride-in in pouring rain, and he was nearly home. Lightening struck road next to him and blew hole in the surface. Driver lost control and went off the road. After surgeries and rehab, this person never returned home and died a year later. Very sad! Was caught in lightening storm at Beartoot Pass, Montana. It was very dark and lightening strikes were everywhere around me. Could only think of above-mentioned rider. Turned around and went back down mountain to Yellowstone NP. A number of bikers continued to charge up the mountain in spite of the terrible conditions.
  9. So sorry to hear this news, Chuck! Prayers for your grandson!
  10. Puc, Always enjoy seeing videos of your adventures. This one reminds me of my ride up the West Coast. Attached pics of Mt. Shasta, California.
  11. So sorry to hear this news, Puc. Praying for all of you during this difficult time.
  12. So sorry to hear this, Earl. Wishing you a complete and speedy recovery.
  13. Vietnam Era Vet here, '68-'72. Volunteered and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. Didn't even consider hiding out in Canada. Enlisted knowing Air Force could do anything they wanted with me. They said they would put me in an electronics AFS, based on my entrance exam scores, but there were no guarantees. The ace in my pocket was an Associate Degree in Industrial Electronics. My background helped me sail through tech school, and I was offered a technical instructor position. Proud of my service to our country, and do not regret missing out on combat. Thank you to all who served and especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice!
  14. Been all over country with our RSV Hannigan trike. As others have mentioned, it's good to keep rev's up. Climbed Mt. Washington a few times, once two-up. Have ridden the Rockies. Rode in more than a month of 100+ temperatures. Only time I wish trike had more power was out West with the 80 MPH speed limits. Trike can do 80 MPH, but it is pretty much flat out and gas mileage suffers. Chose to back off and save fuel.
  15. Just because you are a citizen, Chuck. Otherwise Wall Mart card is fine.
  16. Nice writeup vzuden. Yes, forgot about months sleeping on my recliner. Was very painful. Actually spent so much time in my recliner that I wore it out.
  17. Fell in April 2012, and broke my humerus bone into my right shoulder joint. Doc opened me up and repaired the bone, long scar in armpit. Took three months of physical therapy, and I was off on my trike from NJ to AR in September. Didn't have full use of arm for a year, but today, it is 100% and stronger than my left arm.
